America: Starting with the acquisition of MGM...

Chapter 61, 62: What a good person!

Chapter 61, Section 62: What a good person.

"Kneel down! Bend over!"

At Eric's command, Colossevini gave him a disdainful look.

Then came a barrage of attacks, and the latter seemed to have all its strength drained away, its eyes rolling back in its head.

After getting dressed, Eric walked out of Sweetwater Estate.

It's 7 p.m. now. The winter sun sets early, and it's already pitch black outside, making the colorful streetlights appear even brighter.

Arriving at the film festival venue, even though it was already evening, the place was still bustling with activity, as the atmosphere is perfect for watching movies at night.

After fully charging my phone, I turned it on, which had been turned off for several days. What greeted my eyes were countless text messages and missed calls.

He coughed a few times and dialed one of the numbers: "Hey! Sergei, what's up? Why have you called me so many times?"

Excited shouts immediately rang out from the other side, and it was clear that Sergei was desperately suppressing his anger.

"Eric Cooper, you finally answered the phone! Tell me where you are!"

"I'm in Park City for the Sundance Film Festival, didn't you know? I even did a media interview a couple of days ago."

creak creak

Eric could already hear the other person gritting their teeth.

"Yes, I know you're in Park City. Location, I need the exact location."

"What's wrong, buddy? You sound a bit unhappy. Okay, let me see. It's 'Whale Rider.' I'm in the 'Whale Rider' movie exhibition hall."

Sergei hurriedly said, "Don't move, wait for me there, I'll be right there!"

Eric waited less than ten minutes before he saw Sergei Hasenfield leading a few men running quickly toward him.

"He's not going to hit me, is he? It's a public place; I doubt he'd dare!"

He pulled at his cheeks like a clown, flashed a bright smile, stood up from his chair, and waved.

"Here, I'm here!"

Upon seeing Eric, the group seemed to have found their target, instantly accelerating towards him and surrounding him from all sides.

Sergei's eyes were bloodshot, and he asked in an icy tone, "Eric Cooper, I've been looking for you everywhere! Why didn't you answer the phone? Where have you been hiding?"

"Hide? Hide what? I've been in Park City for the past few days."

"Then why can't I find you? I've searched almost the entire place."

Eric gave an awkward smile: "I've made plans with a few female celebrities, so I can't just walk around in public like that. That's why I've been staying at the resort these past few days and haven't come out. Also, I don't want to be disturbed, so I've turned off my phone."

"Even the president needs a vacation. I've been busy for months, what's wrong with taking a few days off? You look terrible, are you sick?"

In an instant, Sergei felt as if a bolt of lightning had struck the top of his head. He had been scolded like a dog by that old bastard for the past two days and couldn't sleep at all. And this bastard in front of him was having fun with a female celebrity.

He really wanted to punch this guy right in the face.

But he couldn't! He had to hold back!

"Don't you know what happened? Because of your interview, Hasbro's stock price is plummeting! You've ruined us!"

"What! That can't be, I only said a few words."

At this point, Sergei was so enraged that he couldn't tell whether Eric was pretending to be stupid or genuinely stupid, nor did he have time to do so.

He roared in exasperation, "Are you crazy? Why did you announce you were directing? You have no idea!"

Seeing his anxiety, Eric also put on an anxious expression: "What! I didn't say that! I meant I would participate in directing, but only as a figurehead. I'm definitely not the real director!"

"Those damn reporters, they misunderstood me, and those people at the company, they got it wrong too. A bunch of bootlickers, I'm firing them when we get back!"

Seeing the young man's confident expression, Sergei didn't bother to investigate further and pulled him by the hand, heading towards the main theater.

"Wait, what are you doing?"

"Nonsense, of course we should clarify things quickly, reveal the truth, and bring the stock price back up!"

In the main theater, the movie had just ended, and there were significantly more media gathered here compared to "Leland's America".

After the film crew thanked them and left, Sergei dragged Eric along and staged another scene of usurping someone else's place.

Compared to the unknown directors and actors, the reporters were clearly more interested in this MGM bigwig.

"Yes, besides me, there were other directors for Transformers. It's a huge and complex movie that I couldn't have done alone. You shouldn't misunderstand me."

Among the media outlets listed below, several of them interviewed Eric the day before yesterday. They were also surprised to hear this, wondering if we had misheard.

Without giving the reporters a chance to press for answers, Eric smoothly steered the conversation toward the movie.

"Hasbro is a fantastic company. They'll even send specialists to assist MGM in designing the Transformers for the movies. They're very professional in this area, and audiences will see a completely new version!"

A reporter immediately raised his hand and asked, "Mr. Eric, do you mean that the Transformers in the movies are different from those in the cartoons? Is that a correct understanding?"

"That's right. Movies use more sophisticated technology. We will redesign every part of every Autobot. They will have rich expressions, exaggerated and cool transformation movements, and will be more imposing and more full of life."

"Actually, the concept sketches have already been designed. MGM will release a video on its official website so that everyone can get a feel for the Autobots and Decepticons."

"Alright, that's all I wanted to say!"

Eric said a few words briefly, and left without giving the reporter a chance to ask any more questions.

"Alright, as you said, I think it's no longer a problem."

Sergei's eyes were still bloodshot and swollen: "It's not clear yet. The market is closed today, and we won't see the effects until tomorrow."

"Can I go now?"

"No! You must stay with me. I will never let you leave!"

Eric was speechless: "Sergei, you'd better not talk like that. Everyone around us is watching."

"Fine, if you won't let me leave, then let's go together. Look at you now—your lips are pale, your eyes are bloodshot, and you have bad breath. Did you not brush your teeth?"

Sergei took a step back and covered his mouth. As a person of status, he was a little embarrassed to be told he had bad breath.

Eric, however, didn't seem to mind, and put his arm around his shoulder: "Come on, you need to relax. I'll treat you to dinner tonight!"

Being treated like a dog by the old geezer above me, and then looking at the young man in front of me.

A touch of Stockholm syndrome struck Sergei, and he was suddenly moved, his eyes slightly moist.

"He's actually a pretty nice guy!"
