Douluo Continent: The Holy Evil Emperor.

Chapter 137 Inner Court Assessment, Ye Qing VS Zhang Lexuan

Putting everything else aside, the mere mention of the 100,000-year-old soul beast in Xue Zhenyu's words had already caused the temperature in the Soul Arena to rise sharply.

Because everyone gasped as if they were in 1982.

The student wanted to verify, but the battle in the arena had already begun.

……

"Dean Yan values you highly, so your assessment candidate can only be me, the strongest among those currently staying in the inner courtyard." Zhang Lexuan smiled gently, her eyes filled with joy.

"We attach great importance to it..." Ye Qing pursed his lips.

Shrek Academy loves to play this game, calling it "paying attention" but actually just testing and brainwashing in various ways. Ye Qing suddenly had a feeling that when he took the inner court graduation exam, they wouldn't treat him like Huo Yuhao, treating him like a beast of burden.

"Let's take the test first." Putting aside his thoughts, Ye Qing waved to Zhang Lexuan.

"Le Xuan, come here!"

Zhang Lexuan's smile slowly faded, replaced by a serious expression. She had sparred with Ye Qing at least ten times, and as his girlfriend, she knew all too well the terrifying strength of her young boyfriend.

Even though her soul power was twenty levels higher than Ye Qing's apparent level, she had never won when sparring with Ye Qing.

Zhang Lexuan let out a long breath, and a silvery-white light shone from her body, gradually forming a bright full moon behind her. Seven soul rings also appeared one after another on her body, and finally spun at her feet.

Two yellow, two purple, three black—the Soul Saint.

Ye Qing also released his martial soul. A pair of fluffy white tiger ears appeared on his head, and three V-shaped king-shaped patterns appeared on his forehead. Apart from that, his body did not show any of the external manifestations of other martial soul possession.

But just those tiger ears alone were enough to make some female students with abnormal psychologies' eyes sparkle with hearts, even Zhang Lexuan was no exception.

Yellow, purple, black, and red!

Although the number of spirit rings was far less than Zhang Lexuan's, that one blood-red spirit ring was enough to silence the entire Soul Arena.

Zhang Lexuan made the first move, her fourth spirit ring illuminating. The full moon behind her instantly split into numerous curved blades, which circled around her in a very regular pattern, growing in size from small to large. Her fifth spirit ring followed immediately, and under her control, the many blades formed a giant crescent moon.

She flew into the air, clasped her hands together above her head, and a huge crescent-shaped scimitar stood straight in front of her. As her palms fell, she slashed out fiercely.

Fourth Soul Skill: Moon Blade!

Fifth Soul Skill: Moon Goddess Slash!

To fight Ye Qing, one must seize the initiative, otherwise he will overwhelm you with his endless tricks. In this battle, Zhang Lexuan naturally wouldn't hold back and used her combination soul skill as soon as she entered the fray.

"Wow, this looks a bit like my Vertical Guillotine!" Ye Qing raised an eyebrow, looking at Zhang Lexuan's crescent blade as it slashed down, and smiled rather strangely. "But coincidentally, I'm also a Sawman of Light."

Ye Qing stretched out his right fist and clenched it tightly. A large number of light attribute soul skills gathered and compressed. He crossed his arms in front of his chest, his pupils fixed on the moon blade that Zhang Lexuan had slashed down. Then he pulled his right arm up and his left arm down sharply.

The light-attribute soul power, compressed to its limit, instantly formed a massive crescent-shaped slash as Ye Qing separated his hands.

"Vertical guillotine!"

A clash of titans!

Two crescent-shaped slashes, one diagonally upward and the other diagonally downward, collided instantly in mid-air.

As a soul bone skill with a lifespan of 90,000 years, the Vertical Decapitation Blade, even if Ye Qing just casually rubbed it, is still far superior to Zhang Lexuan's fifth soul ring, which is only a little over 10,000 years old. Even if she used her fourth soul skill to amplify it before using her fifth soul skill, it would still be the same!

The two slashes collided in the blink of an eye. When two forces meet on a narrow path, the brave one wins, and clearly, the victor was Ye Qing!

The Moon God Slash was shattered by the vertical decapitation blade, transforming back into countless large and small moon blades. With the brief time gained by the Moon God Slash, Zhang Lexuan was able to dodge the still-propelling vertical decapitation blade after the Moon God Slash was shattered.

In their first encounter, Zhang Lexuan was completely defeated.

"Qing, you've become even stronger." Zhang Lexuan sighed softly, feeling both happy for Ye Qing and disappointed that she could no longer keep up with him.

"But this is an assessment, and I won't give up easily!"

Ding--

The last black spirit ring suddenly lit up, and Zhang Lexuan seemed to transform into light, then gradually turned into a huge, bright full moon, rising into the sky.

"Seventh Soul Skill: Martial Soul True Body!"

Ye Qing scratched his cheek helplessly. He could understand Zhang Lexuan's actions, so he let her do as she pleased, treating her as a sparring partner.

When fighting against a turret mage, you either bombard each other with overwhelming firepower, or you rely on speed to dodge attacks and then kill them in close combat, or you can only take the hits.

Mutual bombardment was definitely out of the question; he was afraid that if he didn't control his strength properly, he might hurt his woman. Dodging attacks was also out of the question; Zhang Lexuan needed to prove herself. That left only one option.

Having activated her Martial Soul True Form and flown into the air, Zhang Lexuan had already begun her artillery mage combo, lighting up her sixth soul skill in succession, starting from her first soul skill and continuing until she reached her sixth soul skill, which was excluding her Martial Soul True Form.

Countless beams of light, large and small, moon blade slashes, moon god slashes, and moonlight bombardments rained down like hail.

Ye Qing simply used the Holy Evil Protection skill, and then, like someone sheltering from the rain under an umbrella, he didn't let Zhang Lexuan's attacks hit him at all.

After the first layer of Holy Evil Protection was almost depleted, Ye Qing put on another layer for himself and took the opportunity to calculate for Zhang Lexuan how many soul skills she had used in this barrage.

Just as Ye Qing was about to put on the third shield after the second layer of Holy Evil Protection was almost exhausted, the true form of the full moon in the sky was deactivated and returned to Zhang Lexuan's body. However, at this time, her face was a little pale, obviously her soul power was exhausted.

Looking down at the arena, which had been blasted into a deep crater, Zhang Lexuan pursed her lips.

The arena was almost blasted into pieces by her, but the area under Ye Qing's feet didn't even crack.

Zhang Lexuan was curious about many things.

Is Ye Qing an offensive type, an agile type, a defensive type, or a healing type?

These abilities are so numerous they're almost dazzling.

"Teacher, my soul power is completely exhausted," Zhang Lexuan said to the referee.

The referee remained silent, looking at Ye Qing, who was wearing the Holy and Evil Protection and had a relaxed and carefree expression, and announced that he had successfully passed the Inner Court assessment.

Ye Qing rushed over to Zhang Lexuan, who had almost exhausted her soul power, and held her in his arms, gently supporting her.

"It's just an assessment, can't you be a little lenient?"

P.S.: Just a heads up, I should be updating 10,000 words a day around the 28th, for about a week.
