Mizukage's Pokémon Ninja Scroll

Chapter 429 Each Displays Their Unique Abilities

Kono finished speaking.

All the candidates were stunned at first, and then immediately began to run desperately towards the sea.

If it weren't for that sentence, things would be fine.

But who would have thought that the examiner would only say at the very end that there might not be many flags on the island?

It's important to know that the rules include a rule prohibiting leaving the island if you haven't collected three different flags.

If they arrived too late, the other teams would have swept away all the flags and run onto the sea.

Wouldn't that mean I wouldn't even be able to catch up with him?

And so these candidates began to rush towards the sea.

The proctoring ninjas who remained on the shore exchanged glances before leaping into the air, reaching a height of sixty or seventy meters.

Then, the cloaks on the backs of these people in the air were suddenly flung off.

Below that, they were all carrying specially made backpacks with rather strange shapes.

Immediately following a series of crisp "click" sounds, these special backpacks suddenly unfolded, transforming into light and agile gliders.

That's right, all the proctors for the second exam were temporarily transferred from the Sky Division ninjas.

Moreover, these Sky Division ninjas still rely on the hang gliders on their backs to fly.

However, compared to the previous type, although it can also be folded, it is not convenient in terms of both size and weight.

Even donning and disassembling these massive metal gliders requires the assistance of specialized logistics personnel.

Modern hang gliders have been upgraded to be even smaller than regular mountaineering backpacks.

Not only are they more convenient for daily wear and military outings, but their equipment strength has even increased rather than decreased.

It can be said that although the overall number and size of the Air Force have been declining.

However, the core equipment has not stopped being updated and replaced.

Furthermore, the current Air Force is pursuing an elite-oriented approach, so its overall combat strength has not actually decreased much.

Even if it really comes to the point where expansion is needed, Kirigakure can pull out several times more reserve air ninja.

Its combat capabilities are several times greater than those of the air force that was first established during World War III.

The purpose of the Joint Chunin Exams is to demonstrate military strength.

As Kirigakure's most iconic war unit, how could Tachibana Kenkawa not bring out the Air Division for a spin?

This applies not only to the second exam.

The crucial third exam, as well as the escort duties for guests from various countries during the event, will all be handled by dedicated Sky Ninjas.

Since he had already hosted this joint Chunin Exams, Tachibana Kenkawa didn't mind showing some of the changes in Kirigakure to outsiders.

Of course, these are all things to follow.

The group of genin who are currently rushing desperately down below have no time to consider the profound meaning behind the weapons flying overhead.

On the contrary, the presence of these flying ninjas prevented some lower-ranking ninjas who were not familiar with the sea from getting lost at sea.

Moreover, these flying ninjas seemed to be intentionally guiding the examinees below, slowing down and waiting from time to time.

However, there are still differences between even the lowest-ranking ninjas.

Only a dozen minutes into the race, a noticeable gap had already formed between them.

Not to mention those who have already fallen to the very bottom.

He's not even proficient at treading water; he only managed to pass the first round of testing by relying on his teammates. Now, he's starting to drag his teammates down.

Those running at the very front of the group, keeping a close eye on the steps of the Sky Division ninja, were undoubtedly mostly examinees from Kirigakure.

Of course, other ninja villages are not without their own "masters" as well.

"Kabuto, Yuri, look over there!"

Of the three in the team, Hozuki Mangetsu, who was most proficient in water-based abilities, did not accelerate at full speed at this moment, still having the energy to observe his surroundings while running.

Upon hearing this, the two looked in the direction that Hozuki Mangetsu was pointing.

"Where did they get their ship? Isn't this cheating?"

Ringo Yuri stared in disbelief and exclaimed.

Indeed, at that moment, there was a small boat in the distance, speeding across the sea and instantly widening the distance between itself and the others.

However, Saigyouji Kabuto shook his head in denial.

"Look closely, those three on the ship are all Sunagakure ninjas. That ship must be some kind of special puppet."

Kabuto's guess was correct; the ninja who was "sailing" was named Gravel, a genin specially arranged by Sunagakure to participate in this joint Chunin Exams.

Because among the puppets he controlled was a special puppet called "Sand Boat".

Although it is usually used for traveling in the special desert terrain of the Land of Wind, it can also be used as a vehicle at sea after slight modifications.

At this moment, the three Sand Village genin on the 'Sand Boat' looked at the main force that they had gradually distanced themselves from and smiled at each other.

The older members of the Sunagakure clan were in charge.

"Gravel, now that the direction is confirmed, let's take a slight detour and avoid landing on the island head-on."

"Avoid direct confrontation? But with our speed, we can easily set traps in advance and eliminate some of our opponents."

As a puppeteer, Gravel was clearly very confident in his ability to set up traps and did not want to let such a great opportunity slip by.

However, another female member of the team spoke up in a low voice to dissuade them.

"Rock, before Lord Kazekage arrived, he told us all to follow Maki's orders."

Upon hearing this, the puppeteer named Gravel moved his lips slightly, but ultimately obeyed and adjusted the direction of the 'Sand Boat' slightly.

In fact, in principle, as genin, they usually don't have a very clear command authority.

Even older genin might face discrimination from their teammates.

However, Machi was different.

This guy had actually been a Chunin for two years, but he was promoted temporarily during the war, and recently he also made a mistake and was demoted.

Moreover, his age wasn't too outrageous, which is why he was assigned to participate in this joint Chunin Exam along with the other genin.

Therefore, both the order from the Kazekage before departure and the instructions from the teacher leading the team for this exam were clearly stated.

During the examination, Machi had a higher level of temporary command authority.

Seeing that the Sand Village team had deviated from its course, the other examinees roughly understood their intentions.

Besides, they couldn't attack each other at this point, so they simply focused on continuing their journey.

However, it might be because Sunagakure took the initiative to activate it first.

Other candidates gradually abandoned their reserve and began to show off their skills.

A gentle breeze blew past the three members of the Dou team.

The three of them looked over instinctively.

Then they saw a huge, simply designed paper airplane carrying three Rain Shadows, gliding quickly across the sea.

"This works?"

Before the three could react, another giant water snake burst forth from the waves.

The three, including Mitarashi Anko, who were also carrying Konoha, swam to the front of the group, swaying their bodies.

Seeing that everyone else had already exerted their strength, the three of them exchanged a glance.

Hozuki Mangetsu was the first to speak and ask a question.

"Should we speed things up?"
