Mizukage's Pokémon Ninja Scroll
Author's Note on the Launch of Chapter 49!
Author's Note on the Launch of Chapter 49!
Um, I have something to tell you. This book will be available tomorrow.
I only found out about it half an hour ago (crying).
I've never written a launch message before, so I'll just say a few words.
I've been reading novels for almost twenty years. I remember reading Master Shuobude's "Mercenary World" when I was in junior high school. Back then, there was no concept of online novels. I bought physical copies from bookstores, and I think they cost more than 20 yuan each.
There seem to be more than a dozen books in total, but when I first started reading, only the first two had been published.
Back then, there was no concept of following updates online. I would just go to the bookstore every month to see if they had a new volume of "Mercenary's World" in stock. Once I got it, I would happily read it with my classmates.
Later, when I learned about online novels, I would buy those large bound volumes near the school to read.
Later, I downloaded pirated ebooks and read them on the BBK learning machine.
I didn't realize the importance of using legitimate books until I graduated from university. I came back and downloaded the Qidian app to read books, and now I have more than a thousand books in my favorites.
It's quite amazing that he's now even started writing his own novels.
This is my first time writing a novel, and I've rambled on for so long. Let me talk about my book.
I've been thinking about this story for a long time.
I used to jot down any ideas that came to mind in my phone's notes app, and now I have seven or eight stories, some of which I haven't seen anyone write down yet.
I had only jotted it down for my own amusement before, but now that it's my turn to write a book, I'm being cautious and bringing out this Naruto fanfiction.
The initial reason for writing this book was that I felt Froakie was too much like a ninja, and it would be a shame if it weren't placed in the Naruto world. Also, the skills in Pokémon are very suitable for becoming ninjutsu.
When I first started writing the book, I was discussing the plot with a friend, and he advised me against giving the protagonist a summoned beast. He said that having a croaking beast might mislead readers into thinking it was a summoning-based story, potentially diverting some readers. Writing too many stories with summoned beasts is difficult, but writing too few will get me criticized.
However, in the end, I felt that since Guagua was the starting point of this book, I insisted on keeping it.
When the book was first published, it was reviewed for 5 days, but no editor signed a contract. After another 5 days of cross-review, no editor still signed a contract.
By then, I had already published 5 words of the book, and I was feeling completely disheartened. I felt like I wasn't suited to writing novels. I wondered if there was something wrong with what I wrote earlier, and if I should have listened to advice and instead summoned a spirit beast.
At one point, I even considered throwing away all the drafts I had saved up and giving up writing altogether.
Fortunately, the editor at Qinghu managed to get it approved on the last day of the cross-review process, which saved the book.
After the new book was added to the library, there were only a few dozen favorites per day for the first few days, but I was still quite happy. What I liked most was chatting with fellow readers in the chapter comments and book reviews. Later, the number of favorites increased to several hundred per day, and I started to like checking the data in the backend every few hours.
Hehe, don't laugh at me, new authors just lack self-control.
I was still a bit confused when I suddenly received the notification today that the product was going to be available.
I'm a stickler for plausibility, and when I discussed this book with a friend, I got yelled at several times: "Who cares if it's plausible? Who cares if it follows the original story? Readers want exciting moments! If you can't write exciting moments, nobody will read it!" (Actually, he has a point; he's been reading for over a decade. PS: You know I'm talking about you, right? I didn't mean to insult you.)
However, there are some plot points that even I find illogical, and I really can't continue writing them.
Aside from being tired, I've actually had a lot of fun writing this book. For example, the part about Zabuza's graduation exam, the part about fighting the pirate captain, and the part about fighting the rainbow bird.
I genuinely enjoyed writing these scenes.
However, after finishing writing, I was afraid that I was just indulging in self-indulgence, and that I might have missed something or not expressed the meaning clearly.
It's quite contradictory.
Then there's the issue of intelligence. After reading novels for so many years, and now that I'm not young anymore, I can no longer bear to read plots where everyone's intelligence seems to drop.
But I've also heard the saying, "The upper limit of a novel's characters' intelligence is the upper limit of the author's intelligence."
Well, how should I put it? I'm not exactly a smart person myself, but I don't want to play a character who's too stupid.
Therefore, the protagonist I ultimately created was not a high-IQ character, but rather someone who is very quick-witted in critical moments.
Since we can't raise the upper limit of a character's intelligence, the protagonist must come up with a solution within seconds in a critical moment. As the author, I can spend several hours behind the scenes helping the protagonist think of the optimal solution. Wouldn't that make the protagonist seem smarter?
What's the point of saying all this?
I write books very slowly.
The author is indeed, just like his pen name, a mediocre talent.
I don't have many drafts saved up. The main problem is that I sit in front of the computer almost all day, but I still can't write many words.
After it's published, I can only try to update as much as possible. I'll release the drafts I've saved up for the first couple of days.
After that, I'll try my best to post as much as I can.
Hmm, how is it?
I think this is a good suggestion.
Alright, enough rambling. I still want to thank all the readers. Thank you for your comments and feedback, thank you for following my book, thank you for subscribing to this book in the future, and thank you for any donations or monthly tickets you may receive.
Thanks to editor Qinghu for saving this book, thanks to the author experts in the group for helping with the questions, and thanks to the fruit expert in the group for sharing the information.
Okay, that's all.
New author, new book going on sale tomorrow.

Additionally, I recommend two books by authors in the group:
"A Person in Sumeru: I Can Replicate the Authority of the Seven Gods"
This is a relatively niche Genshin Impact fanfiction on Qidian. It features an invincible protagonist storyline without being overly sentimental, and offers a fresh perspective. If you're interested, feel free to add it to your bookshelf.
Entertainment Industry: Learning from Two Beauties from the Western Regions
This is a very realistic and well-written entertainment novel. It features two female leads, Dilraba and Gulnazar, and the writing is quite explicit. Readers who are interested can check it out.
PS: The link is at the end of the previous chapter. Feel free to add it to your bookshelf if you're interested.
