Chapter 73 Got It Wrong

The three little ones exchanged a glance.

Now that Qing has survived, the three of them must go out, no matter what the situation is outside.

The best-case scenario would be that all three Jonin from Kirigakure survive, while the opposing Akimichi clan's Jonin's desperate counterattack fails.

However, it's possible that only Ao survived, and he's currently being besieged by three Konoha Jonin.

Even so, it was impossible for Tachibana and the other two to abandon Ao, who had always taken good care of them, and run away.

"None of the four have moved, so it shouldn't be the worst-case scenario."

Zabuza carefully sensed the situation again before giving his reply.

"Let's head in Teacher Qing's direction first!"

Without further hesitation, the three jumped out of the collapsed pit and ran quickly in the direction Zabuza had pointed out.

Fortunately, it wasn't the worst-case scenario, but the scene before the three of them was still horrific.

Of the four surviving Jonin, the Akimichi family Jonin was unconscious and was being protected by the Nara clan ninja.

The other party had a sharp weapon piercing through their abdomen from behind, indicating they were likely a Yamanaka clan ninja who was already dead.

On Kirigakure's side, Ao and Kushimaru Kurihara survived, but neither of them fared well.

Kushimaru Kurihara's right arm was twisted into a very strange shape by something, and he had many wounds on his body. He could only kneel on the ground, panting heavily, and use his left hand to support himself with a long sword while getting stitches.

Qing's left leg looked as if it had been broken by a heavy object, bent at an angle that completely defied common sense. Amidst the blood and flesh, one could vaguely see the white bones. He was weakly leaning against a large crater that looked like it had been blasted by a ninja technique.

As for the bodies of the other two Konoha ninja and Yako, they were in a rather gruesome state. Their last location could only be determined by the large amount of blood seeping from the ground, and it would probably be difficult to dig them out anytime soon.

Seeing that the three of them, including Jianchuan Ju, had arrived unharmed, Qing's tense mind finally relaxed, and she simply fainted.

The Nara clan's Jonin immediately clasped his hands together and looked at the three of them warily upon their arrival.

At this moment, Kushimaru Kurishari, on the other side, spoke up while panting heavily, but also with a sense of relief.

"That guy doesn't have much chakra left. He's just trying to scare you. Kid, go and take him down."

After saying that, perhaps because he was too excited, he aggravated his wound and fell to the ground.

However, Kushimaru Kurishari didn't have a high level of trust among the three kids, so they all chose to test him by throwing a long-range projectile.

However, Zabuza was a bit different; he grabbed the wire with one hand and threw the short sword with the other.

Upon seeing this, Suzaku Nara's eyes glazed over, and he fell into despair.

As Kushimaru Kurihara said, he had long been in a state of chakra depletion, and even his physical strength was almost exhausted.

The reason he is still alive is because his teammate, Akimichi Tsuhei, before he enraged and ate the "Yellow Curry Pill" in preparation for using the Hyper-Expansion Technique, did not forget to throw Yamanaka Ike's corpse into the air along with him.

He had exhausted his last bit of strength just now in order to assume a defensive posture without revealing any weakness.

"At least I stood in front of the soldier before I died," Nara Suzaku thought to himself.

However, a strange, elongated object flew from a distance to him, swung wildly in the air, blocked all the attacks, and then fell to the ground.

Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a venomous snake, as thick as a forearm, pinned to the ground.

Everyone looked toward the shore in the direction the venomous snake had come from, and saw two figures rushing toward them from the sea.

Looking at the effeminate man with long black hair and wearing a Konoha Jonin vest who was charging ahead, even without the warning of "danger premonition," Tachibana Kenkawa could already feel the aura of death rushing towards him.

The newcomer was none other than Orochimaru, one of the Legendary Sannin and the frontline commander of Konoha.

Orochimaru ignored the three terrified children and, with Yakushi Nonou, instantly landed next to Suzaku in Nara.

He patted the other person on the shoulder and then spoke gently in his uniquely hoarse voice.

"Don't worry, I'm here."

It's hard to imagine that the legendary Orochimaru, a man who is close to the highest level of Konoha, would have such a gentle side.

After hearing Orochimaru's words, Nara Suzaku relaxed and collapsed, completely exhausted.

Yakushi Nono, who had followed Orochimaru back, immediately stepped forward to support him and began treating the injuries of the last two surviving Konoha ninjas, seemingly oblivious to everyone else.

Tachibana Kenkawa clung tightly to Zabuza's clothes, afraid that the guy would try to use his little dagger to trim Orochimaru's nails.

Only then did Orochimaru slowly turn around, look at the group from Kirigakure, and speak casually.

"As expected of the Blood Mist Village, these little guys are quite energetic."

As he spoke, Orochimaru stuck out his rather strange long tongue and licked his lips.

The three children didn't dare to look back at Kushimaru's condition. They could only silently pray that this Jonin from Kirigakure, one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, would take responsibility and confront Orochimaru quickly.

However, Tachibana Kanagawa was somewhat surprised, not because of anything else, but because the intensity of the 'danger premonition' warning in her mind had suddenly weakened a lot.

How should I put it? It's not even as intense as the sense of crisis I felt a while ago when I was walking on the side of a shopping street and a flowerpot was about to fall from an upper floor.

Jianchuan Ju felt that even if she did nothing and just stood there quietly, she would probably only suffer some minor injuries.

"Is Orochimaru simply not interested in dealing with us low-ranking ninja? Or is his danger-predicting ability malfunctioning?"

Just as Jianchuan Ju was filled with doubt but still held onto a sliver of hope.

"Thump~" x3

Their two teammates and Lanzi suddenly collapsed to the ground without any warning.

When Jianchuan Ju realized that she seemed to be a step behind, cold sweat broke out on her back.

"Is it too late for me to collapse now?"

Looking at Orochimaru's curious and amused expression, Tachibana Uchiha wanted to slap herself twice.

Previously, because I overthought things and was worried that one of the living Konoha Jonin might be from the Yamanaka clan, I hadn't lifted the 'Mysterious Protection' buff.

Now that he had completely ignored Orochimaru's illusion attack, he seemed far too conspicuous.

"Interesting kid, do you have some kind of special constitution?"

As he spoke, Orochimaru slowly walked towards Tachibana Kanagawa.

Just as Jianchuan Ju was thinking about whether she would still have a chance to form hand seals and unleash 'Steam Explosion' in front of Snake Aunt, and even if she did, would she still have a chance to escape.

Orochimaru, who seemed to be walking casually, suddenly raised his hand towards himself.

Countless snakes of various shapes and colors emerged from the other party's sleeves and shot rapidly toward Jianchuan Ju.
