Reborn in America, I'm serious about making money.

"Ms. Wu, this is the termination agreement. Please take a look. If there are no problems, please sign it."

The other party was a lawyer from a mainland company, which is normal. Mainland companies often hire Hong Kong celebrities as spokespeople because they are famous and the fees are low, and Hong Kong celebrities are happy to earn this kind of extra income.

Wu Dazui, nicknamed "Big Mouth," often makes up stories on variety shows. For example, she said that some celebrities from xxx are like country girls who are very enthusiastic towards directors, and that they must rely on some unknown techniques to make movies... There are countless similar remarks.

When she realized she had breached the contract, she signed it dismissively, for no other reason than that her outspokenness had damaged the brand's image.

Wu Dazui had no problem with this. The contract contained this clause, and she had done those things, so she signed it without a care in the world.

"What nonsense! Even without you, plenty of people would ask me to be their spokesperson."

Wu Dazui was in a bad mood, so he cursed and chased the other person away like a madman.

But just as she was about to leave, her agent told her to wait a moment.

"Hey, what is it now? I'm really busy." She sounded a little impatient.

The agent sighed and said, "Have you offended someone recently?"

"What do you mean? How could I possibly offend anyone?"

"There are a few more lawyers who need you to terminate the contract, and they all give the same reason."

"What do you mean? The endorsement is over?"

In the afternoon, after leaving the company, she felt a little dazed. She hadn't offended anyone!

Back home, I couldn't figure out why, and the day just passed like that.

The next day, she received a phone call at home, and the first sentence made her pause.

"Sister, have all your endorsement contracts been terminated?"

Hearing the other person's words, she felt mocked, but a sliver of reason prevented her from losing her temper.

"Yeah, I don't know which bastard I offended. Are you laughing at me?"

"No, sister, something terrible has happened. It's not just you who got your contract terminated, it's all of them. Every celebrity who endorses products in mainland China has had their contract terminated. This is a huge problem."

"That's not all. There were several films that were co-produced with mainland China, but the investors withdrew their funding. One film was even reduced to 2% of the screenings by Lihua Cinemas."

"Ah!?" Wu Dazui was so shocked she couldn't close her mouth. How could this happen? She immediately shouted, "What are you doing!?"

"Sister, I thought you knew, but you didn't know either?"

This is awkward. Suddenly, overnight, Hong Kong stars and films were abandoned by the mainland.

In the 1980s and 90s, Hong Kong films and television were unparalleled in Asia, known as the Hollywood of the East, and were popular throughout Southeast Asia and East Asia.

Hong Kong's film industry was at its zenith, reaching its peak. It was an era brimming with creativity and passion, where filmmakers crafted countless classic works with their unique styles and exquisite skills.

At that time, Hong Kong cinema boasted a diverse range of genres, from action films to comedies, from romances to horror films. Each genre had its own representative works and iconic figures. The spectacular fight scenes of martial arts stars and the hilarious performances of comedians drove audiences wild.

The film's sets and special effects are also breathtaking. Whether it's bustling city streets or mysterious ancient ruins, everything is brought to life through meticulous set design and advanced technology. These visual effects deliver a stunning cinematic experience for the audience.

Furthermore, the music of Hong Kong films became a hallmark of the era. Matching the themes and plots of the films, the beautiful theme songs and incidental music resonated deeply with audiences, becoming classics sung by many.

Hong Kong films of that era were not only popular in Asia, but also reached the international stage, winning the love and praise of audiences worldwide.

The golden age of Hong Kong cinema has become an enduring legend, still talked about with great interest years later.

Why did Hong Kong cinema decline at that time?

It is said that it was because of a movie called "The Mad Monk Ji Dian". Director Wang, who was known as the king of bad movies and supported the entire Hong Kong film industry, said in an early interview: "After 'The Mad Monk Ji Dian' in 93, Taiwanese capital was unwilling to invest in Hong Kong films, and then it collapsed."

This demonstrates Hong Kong's dependence on Taiwan; as for the mainland's approval process and restrictions on screenings, that's just a way of shifting blame.

Ultimately, it was a contributing factor caused by the broader economic environment. At that time, the mainland's economy was rising while Hong Kong and Taiwan's economies were not developing well, leading to a contraction in economic activity. Then, the Asian financial crisis occurred in 98.

A series of chain reactions led to their decline, and now they are once again being despised, which has shocked them.

However, they soon discovered something: what was going on with Lihua Cinemas? It was a Hong Kong company, so why was it involved in this?

"Sigh! You've offended someone, and you've offended them badly. Now you can't even apologize to anyone." Da Liu saw this situation very clearly. Without the intervention of a powerful figure, there would be no such effect at all.

This gathering was initiated by several big names in the entertainment industry to jointly address this crisis.

Although the mainland entertainment industry has no intention of ostracizing them, and there is a lot of interaction between them, and no negative news has been reported, the real reason they are panicking is that they have been abandoned by the business, or more directly, by capital.

Capital, or more directly, money, is arguably a major driving force in the entertainment industry.

It provides the entertainment industry with substantial funding and resources, contributing to the production and promotion of films, music, television programs, and more.

They can also hire well-known actors, directors, and producers to create lavish productions and spectacular performances, attracting the attention of the audience.

In addition, it can be used for publicity and marketing to increase the exposure and popularity of the work.

At this moment, someone timidly said, "We seemed to have mocked three female celebrities from mainland China a few days ago, is that related to that incident?"

His words were like a wake-up call; everyone looked at him, making him a little nervous.

"That's right, we spoke out for Big Brother Fat back then, and that's all we did."

"Those mainlanders are so stingy..."

"He's not from the mainland, he's an old friend, it must be him." Liu thought of someone from the Lihua Supermarket.

Seeing that Da Liu was deep in thought, no one else spoke.

In the quiet hall, they quickly realized that if three beautiful women came to Hong Kong to make it in the entertainment industry without any backing, they would have been devoured by these people long ago.

As for Zhang San, at this particular moment, he and the three women had long since vanished without a trace.
