Chapter 22 Teach: Me vs. Garp?
Chapter 22 Teach: Me vs. Garp?
Bane felt completely at home at the Loguetown naval base. When he entered, the naval soldiers who were checking him didn't make things difficult for him at all. They quickly registered him and then, without needing anyone to follow him, Bane walked into the base with ease.
All I can say is that his previous 200 million Berries here were definitely worth it; everyone treats him like one of their own.
Soon, Bane arrived at Smoker's office door without incident. He knocked on the door and received a response from inside.
Bane pushed the door open and greeted him cheerfully, "Surprised? Uh-oh?"
In the office, Smoker was wiping his Seastone Jigsaw at his desk, while on the sofa for guests sat a figure Bane hadn't expected: the naval hero Garp!
Garp was holding a senbei (rice cracker) and stuffing it into his mouth without any regard for his image.
Both he and Smoker were shocked when they saw Bane!
"What are you doing here?!" Smoker exclaimed as he suddenly stood up.
Seeing his excited appearance, Bane was a little puzzled. Although coming here was a pleasant surprise, there was no need to be so excited.
"I'm about to leave the East Blue, so I came over to say goodbye and see if you have any spare Log Pose. Can I borrow one?" Bane explained.
"Oh no!" Garp slammed the senbei on the table. "Quick, Smoker, sound the alarm! Evacuate the people of Loguetown!"
Their actions left Bane completely bewildered. Bane asked, utterly confused, "What on earth happened?"
"The Whitebeard Pirates' second division commander, Fire Fist Ace, is in Loguetown. We originally planned to surround him at night, but your appearance will definitely disrupt that plan," Smoker said, looking quite troubled.
That's right. When Ace and Teach landed in Loguetown, Smoker noticed the situation immediately. Loguetown is his territory. Over the years, he has been known for never letting a single pirate escape, and that's not just empty talk. He has a lot of spies in the town.
Ace was a rather flamboyant person, with a white beard tattooed on his back. Naturally, he was spotted as soon as he arrived in Loguetown and reported to Smoker.
Originally, Bane would have been notified when he arrived in Loguetown, but before he even disembarked, he ran into Tashigi. The others also noticed the situation and assumed that Tashigi had already made arrangements, so they didn't report it. However, Bane ended up in front of Smoker, and that's how Smoker found out.
"We originally suspected that Fire Fist Ace would come to me to ask about you, and he actually showed up in Loguetown. Now that you're here too, it's very likely that he's already found you and might come knocking on our door," Smoker explained.
As he spoke, he picked up a Den Den Mushi (snail phone) to disperse the people of Loguetown, lest any accidents later endanger the populace.
Before he could even make the call, he heard a loud shout coming from outside the window.
"Fire Fist!!!"
Without a doubt, it was Ace's voice. The next second, the surging flames transformed into a fist of fire, which struck hard and pierced through the gate of the Loguetown naval base. The scorching flames surged inward and burned for nearly a hundred meters, as if forming a fire tunnel.
"That brat is still as reckless as ever!" Garp cursed with a gloomy expression as he watched the scene.
To be honest, if Ace and Teach were to appear in Loguetown, it would be difficult for Bane and Smoker to handle the situation alone. Bane might even have to find a way to run away.
But now, with the Navy's bigwig Garp right beside them, and looking like he'd been waiting for them all along, Bane felt much more at ease.
This wave might just be able to take down Ace and Teach!
Soon, two figures emerged from the flames. The one in the lead was Ace, and behind him was the unknown Teach.
"Be careful, the guy behind Ace is called Marshall D. Teach. He's incredibly strong. He once fought to a standstill with one of the Four Emperors, Shanks!" Bane warned Garp, worried that he might underestimate him.
Garp and Smoker's attention was originally on Ace, but Bane's words instantly drew their attention to the inconspicuous Teach.
"On par with Shanks!?" Garp asked, somewhat surprised, his tone tinged with doubt.
"That's right, the scar on the redhead's eye was left by that guy," Bane immediately confirmed.
Now Garp was more convinced, his brow furrowed as he said, "I thought he was just some nobody, but he's a tough one. You guys better watch out for him!"
Ace and Teach had no idea that Garp was also there. After all, the newspaper had previously reported that Garp had separated from Smoker at the Marine Branch 153 base. When Ace saw this news, he thought that his grandfather must have gone to find Luffy.
I never expected that Garp, that old fox, was secretly plotting something, and that his purpose in coming to the East Blue was to capture him!
Emerging from the fiery passage, Ace arrogantly shouted, "Bane, I knew you were here! I saw you come in! You bastard who murdered Sachi by despicable means, get out here!"
In the office, Bane glanced at Smoker beside him and asked, "Has he always been this arrogant? As a pirate, barging into a Marine base and acting so brazenly?"
Smoker shrugged. "How would I know? I'm not even close to him, right, Lieutenant General Garp?"
Garp's face flushed red, and a hint of anger flashed in his eyes as he said, "I'll go teach this bastard a lesson right now!"
The moment he finished speaking, Karp exerted force with his foot, and with a crack, the tile floor of Smoker's office shattered.
Seeing this, Smoker's eyes flashed with heartache, but before he could even speak, with a bang, Garp's massive body smashed his window to pieces, and he was launched out like a cannonball.
"Ace!!!" Garp roared in the air.
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
His shout startled Ace and Teach.
Ace stared at Garp in the sky with a terrified expression, shouting, "Grandpa!? What are you doing here!?"
Teach was completely dumbfounded. "Damn it, how did it suddenly turn into a hellish start?"
I'm going to beat Garp!?
Garp gathered his strength in mid-air, unleashing a burst of Haki that drew several bolts of lightning from the sky. His eyes glowed red as he roared, "Why am I here? To teach you a lesson, you ignorant bastard!"
With Garp's roar, an immense aura and domineering presence instantly enveloped the entire town of Loguetown. The terrifying aura made Bane feel breathless.
"What is this!?" Bane looked at the sky and saw Garp's domineering aura collapsing like the heavens. In an instant, that vast and boundless domineering aura gathered on his fist.
Smoker's face turned green at the sight, and he rushed to the broken window, shouting, "Hey, Vice Admiral Garp, this is the Navy!"
However, before he could finish speaking, Garp's domineering fist had already been swung out from a distance!
"Fist Bone Impact!"
Bane felt a sudden brightness before his eyes, as if the entire sky had been made even more dazzling. Then, terrifying Haki gathered into an extremely powerful shockwave, as if it were about to pierce through the heavens and earth, and crashed down towards the Loguetown Marine Base with Garp as the center.
At first glance, Bane saw the terrified expressions on Ace and Teach's faces, and then the two of them were engulfed by the shockwave. At second glance, the buildings in the naval base were blown away and destroyed by the shockwave, as if hit by a hurricane. At third glance, the extremely powerful and domineering shockwave had already reached him.
The next instant, before Bane could even curse Garp, he and Smoker were swept into the shockwave and slammed into the wall with a bang. Then, the office building was completely destroyed.
With a single strike, Loguetown was as if struck by a massive earthquake; the entire naval base, along with several surrounding streets, was reduced to ruins.
