Chapter 12 The Everlasting Wisteria

Five years later.

With light steps, Tang Nian, holding a fiery red spider lily that glowed red, engaged in a fierce battle with the white tiger spirit beast before her.

She was agile, tumbling in the air and skillfully dodging the attacks of the soul beasts.

The blade in his right hand gleamed with a cold light, like a white tiger slicing through the sky, shearing off the fur of the white tiger spirit beast. The white tiger spirit beast let out a low roar and charged towards Tang Nian.

With a swift stroke of her blade, Tang Nian cleaved the fur of the white tiger spirit beast in two. The spirit beast let out a miserable cry, leaped backward, and fled in disarray.

Tang Nian saw this but did not chase after them.

Tang Hao watched from the side, shook his head and said, "Niannian, why don't you nip it in the bud?"

Tang Nian had her own theory on this: "Teacher, it is truly remarkable that this white tiger has cultivated for a thousand years. I do not need its spirit ring. Spirit beasts reproduce very slowly, so absorbing spirit rings is a helpless act. I understand the principle of the survival of the fittest, but all I can do is not kill innocent people indiscriminately, teacher."

Upon hearing this, Tang Hao looked at Tang Nian with a complicated expression and said, "Niannian, I'm very pleased that you think this way. No training is as good as actual combat." After a pause, he said, "Now that you can rival a nine-thousand-year-old soul beast, it's time for you to absorb your second soul ring."

"Teacher, what age of spirit ring should I absorb for my second spirit ring?" Tang Nian asked, puzzled.

Tang Hao tilted his head and thought for a while, but hesitated before speaking, "It is truly rare that you absorbed your first spirit ring after a thousand years. For others, absorbing a spirit ring is a matter of life and death, but you did it so easily."

"Niannian, your teacher has a bold idea. Why don't you try to absorb a ten-thousand-year soul ring? Although it's difficult, if you succeed, you will be the number one person in the entire Douluo Continent, a true genius among ten thousand."

"If you're willing, I'll help you hunt down a ten-thousand-year-old soul beast."

For so many years, Tang Hao has not revealed his spirit rings.

Tang Nian bit her lower lip. Tang Hao would never harm her, with his ten-thousand-year soul ring. But, "I want to test you, teacher."

Tang Hao nodded, "Although it was so easy for you to absorb the thousand-year soul ring, the ten-thousand-year soul ring is different from the thousand-year soul ring. Although it is risky, if you absorb this ten-thousand-year soul ring, your whole person will undergo a qualitative change."

After saying that, Tang Hao narrowed his eyes, "Among your peers, you will be the strongest."

"Among my peers, I will be the strongest..." Tang Nian murmured to herself, "In that case, teacher, what kind of spirit beast do you think I should absorb for my second spirit ring?"

Tang Hao thought for a while and said, "I'm wondering if it's related to your Blue Silver Emperor Martial Soul. You said you felt a sense of affinity towards the withered wood demon flower's soul ring, so I'm thinking that plant soul beasts shouldn't be very resistant to you."

Tang Nian nodded, "I understand, teacher. Let me give it a try."

Tang Hao nodded in satisfaction. Under his tutelage, Tang Nian had undergone the most rigorous training.

He knew in his heart that even he back then probably didn't have Tang Nian's resilience. This little girl's character was truly rare.

Tang Hao turned to look in the direction of the waterfall, his face full of nostalgia. "See? Our Nian Nian is such an amazing little girl."

Five years later, Tang Hao brought Tang Nian back to the Star Dou Great Forest. However, this time the two did not stay on the outer perimeter, but went directly into the mixed zone, which was also the most dangerous place.

Tang Nian could clearly sense that Tang Hao had become more serious after entering the mixed zone, always protecting her behind him and staring intently ahead.

It was as if they were afraid she might be in danger.

Tang Nian felt a warmth in her heart; all these years, Tang Hao had always been very good to her.

Although he seemed very strict with her on the surface, Tang Nian knew that Tang Hao was always secretly watching from the sidelines when she fought with the soul beasts, ready to step in and protect her at any time. Perhaps, this was her father's love.

Suddenly the trees in front swayed wildly, their canopies colliding with a dull thud.

The spirit beasts in the forest began to run around in terror, and a wild aura filled the air, making people feel uneasy.

Suddenly, flames erupted around them, and the fiery winged horse galloped past them without even glancing at them, simply opening its mouth to spew flames that burned everything in its path.

Tang Hao's expression turned serious, and he assumed a defensive stance. He said, "This Blazing Pegasus has at least ten thousand years of cultivation. The one that can make it run around so recklessly must be a powerful soul beast behind it. Niannian, prepare to escape."

"Yes, teacher."

The spider lily appeared in Tang Nian's hand. She was ready to use her first soul skill at any time. Even if it couldn't cause any real damage to the soul beast, the brief pause would buy them time to escape.

In an instant, the earth began to tremble, and then purple vines sprouted from the ground. Tang Nian dodged them with a quick movement and looked back. The spot where she had just stood had now cracked open.

"It's wisteria!" Tang Hao's voice came. "This kind of martial soul is not common. Niannian, you have to be careful. This wisteria is a ten-thousand-year-old soul beast. Unless your life is in danger, I will not take action."

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

At this moment, the two were already separated by the purple vines in the middle. The purple vines had long, thin purple leaves that emitted a fresh fragrance, but Tang Nian knew that things were definitely not that simple.

The next instant, the purple vines rushed towards Tang Nian, moving swiftly and nimbly, each step seemingly blending into the rhythm of nature.

Wisteria lunged at Tang Nian with its claws outstretched, but she leaped up lightly, her toes barely touching the ground, her skirt fluttering. Her first spirit ring lit up, and a thick red mist instantly surged toward Wisteria.

This action angered the wisteria, and the huge vine wrapped around Tang Nian following her movement, but she nimbly spun around to avoid it.

Seeing this, the wisteria did not give up. Instead, the vines became even more active and pounced on Tang Nian. Tang Nian dodged to the side, but did not notice that another vine was attacking from below.

Tang Nian was hit and fell to the ground. The wisteria reacted quickly and wrapped around Tang Nian's legs. She tried to stand up, but couldn't break free for a moment.

In an instant, wisteria attacked Tang Nian from all directions, attempting to engulf her in its vines.

At the critical moment, Tang Nian took out a long sword from her storage ring and stabbed it fiercely at the wisteria binding her legs.

The wisteria was incredibly resilient; no matter how she tried to cut it, it remained unmoved, and even seemed to be enraged by her, using even more force.

Countless vines precisely wrapped around Tang Nian's limbs and body. Tang Nian tried to struggle, but found herself being bound even tighter.
