Chapter 2 Martial Soul Awakening

This year, a total of nine children from Shenghun Village participated in the awakening ceremony.

The two little ones walked slowly, and when they arrived, the remaining seven children were already standing in line.

The children in the village all looked down on Tang San and Tang Nian.

The two had no mother, and their father was an alcoholic. Over time, the children were called unwanted wild children.

But the two of them, whose combined age across two lifetimes was equal to that of Elder Jack, the village elder, naturally wouldn't take the children's words to heart.

Seeing the two arrive, old Jack waved to them.

The two quickly walked over.

In the middle of the Spirit Hall stood a young man who looked to be no more than twenty years old, with striking eyebrows and handsome features.

He was dressed in a white, close-fitting outfit with a fist-sized "Soul" character on his chest, which was the standard attire for personnel directly under the Spirit Hall.

On his left chest was a badge carved with three long swords, belonging to a Grand Soul Master from the Spirit Hall.

The Great Soul Master is the third level after the awakening of the Martial Soul.

There are a total of ten titles for martial spirits.

Soul Warrior, Soul Master, Great Soul Master, Soul Venerable, Soul Sect Master, Soul King, Soul Emperor, Soul Saint, Soul Douluo, and Title Douluo.

Titled Douluo can be considered invincible.

Old Jack, the village chief, usually held great prestige in the village, but at this moment he bowed respectfully to the young man, saying, "Hello, esteemed Master of War Souls, I need to trouble you this time."

The young man nodded, somewhat impatiently, and said, "I don't have much time, let's get started."

Old Jack turned to the children with a fawning smile and said, "You all cooperate well with the master. Grandpa hopes that some of you will become Soul Masters."

The young man rolled his eyes, his tone even more impatient. "Do you think becoming a Soul Master is really that easy? I've already visited six villages, and I haven't found a single person with Soul Power."

Old Jack sighed deeply, "Yes, it's really too difficult for ordinary people like us to become Soul Masters."

After saying that, old Jack bent over and walked out. He was very old, and his hand holding the cane was trembling. Tang Nian looked at him and felt a pang of sadness.

Old Jack was very good to both her and Tang San.

Turning her head, Tang Nian looked at the young man. She had a deep impression of him. Wasn't he the one who looked down on people, Su Yuntao?

He's a great Soul Master, but compared to his older brother, he's nothing. I don't know what he's so arrogant about.

"Stand in a row—"

As soon as he said that, the nine children stood in a row.

Tang Nian, who was rather petite, stood at the back.

Tang San was right next to her. He squeezed Tang Nian's hand, signaling her not to be nervous.

The young man opened his mouth and said, "I am Su Yuntao, a level 26 Great Soul Master. I am your guide and I will now perform the Martial Soul Awakening for you. Remember, no matter what happens, do not be afraid."

After speaking, Su Yuntao took out six jet-black round stones and a shiny black crystal ball from a package on the side.

One by one, the children walked into the prepared formation.

With a shout, "Lone Wolf, possess me!"

Su Yuntao's eyes turned into the green unique to wolves, and his ten fingers became the claws of wild beasts. A white and a yellow halo emerged from beneath his feet, creating an indescribably eerie scene.

"A sickle?" Su Yuntao frowned. "It can barely be considered a weapon. Let me see if you have any soul power."

As he spoke, under Su Yuntao's direction, the boy reached out and placed his right hand on the blue crystal ball.

A moment later, nothing happened. "Without soul power, one cannot become a soul master."

"A kitchen knife... has no soul power."

"The hoe... has no soul power."

"Blue Silver Grass, a useless martial soul, devoid of soul power—"

Tang Nian tensed up for a moment when she heard the name Blue Silver Grass.

Because she knew that one of Tang San's martial souls was Blue Silver Grass, but it wasn't a useless martial soul.

Sure enough, when it was Tang San's turn, the familiar Blue Silver Grass appeared in his palm.

Su Yuntao let out a long sigh, "Useless martial spirit, next—"

"Uncle, you haven't tested my soul power yet." His tone was firm, which made Su Yuntao take another look.

"No need for testing. He has a naturally useless martial soul and it's impossible for him to have soul power."

"Uncle, let me try—" Tang San's tone became even more determined.

No one present except Tang Nian noticed that a small black hammer flashed past Tang San's other hand.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Tang Nian's eyes flashed; that must be the Clear Sky Hammer, the number one weapon spirit in the world!

In the end, Su Yuntao agreed to Tang San's request to test his soul power.

The moment his hand touched the crystal ball, a brilliant blue light shone forth, dazzling everyone, including Tang Nian.

"My God! He actually has innate full soul power!" Su Yuntao's eyes widened instantly as he stared at Tang San in shock. This was a result he never expected.

He muttered to himself, "It's just a useless martial soul, how could it have innate full soul power? What a pity, what a pity."

"What is innate full soul power?" Tang San asked curiously.

Su Yuntao looked at Tang San with deep eyes and said, "The amount of soul power is crucial. Just like those children who didn't have any soul power, they were destined to never become Soul Masters."

"The amount of soul power represents a soul master's talent. The higher the talent, the faster the cultivation. Innate full soul power is the highest soul power that can be achieved when a martial soul awakens."

"You're a level 10 Soul Master! You have innate full Soul Power, a genius that comes along only once in a century. It's just a pity you're only Blue Silver Grass." Su Yuntao sighed as he spoke.

Tang San asked with some curiosity, "Is the maximum innate soul power level only level ten? Can't it go any higher?"

"No, you can't continue cultivating until you have a spirit ring every ten levels."

Tang San suddenly realized and nodded.

Su Yuntao glanced one last time at the Blue Silver Grass in Tang San's hand, his eyes filled with disappointment, and called out, "Next—"

Tang Nian's face was rosy and she looked excited; she was happy for Tang San.

Tang Nian has a good attitude. She doesn't really care what happens to her. Being an ordinary person isn't so bad for her.

Tang Nian walked into the prepared magic array.

She slowly reached out her hand, and a blue blade of grass with golden patterns appeared in Tang Nian's hand.

Su Yuntao's tone was full of doubt, "Could this be a mutated Blue Silver Grass?"

Tang Nian was completely bewildered; she had no idea what had happened.

Suddenly, Tang Nian felt as if something was about to emerge from her right hand, and she slowly stretched out her hand.

The bright red flowers appeared in her palm like dragon claws. The leaves grew in clusters, with slender tips, resembling garlic leaves. They were fleshy and ribbon-shaped, and the bright red petals immediately attracted everyone's attention.

"The red spider lily blooms on the other shore, and falls in the underworld."
