Chapter 159 Angel?

"The Death Swamp? Does such a place exist in Douluo Continent?"

Deng Mu looked at the second test of the God of Life and couldn't help but show a puzzled expression.

He had read geography books before, but had never seen a place like the Death Swamp.

Could it be in some other world?

"Forget it, I'll just look for it myself."

Deng Mu couldn't figure out where the Death Swamp was, so he scratched his head and decided to look for it somewhere.

The Goddess of Life couldn't have set up a test that couldn't be completed; something must have happened somewhere that turned into a death swamp.

There's no rush to complete the second test of the God of Destruction; wait until you've completed the second test of the Goddess of Life.

As for where to look, naturally go to those remote and impoverished places, where you're very likely to find the Death Swamp.

Taking out a map of Douluo Continent, Deng Mu looked at it for a while and decided to head towards Sunset Forest, not in a hurry to check out the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Eye.

Deng Mu stepped into Tiandou City and headed towards the place where horses were sold.

Arriving at the place where horses were sold, Deng Mu searched for a horse that suited him.

Just then, a tall black horse came into view. Its coat was as black as ink, glossy and shiny, with firm and smooth muscle lines, and every breath it took exuded vitality.

"Boss, how much for this horse?" Deng Mu walked quickly toward the horse dealer and asked, pointing to the black horse.

The horse trader looked up at Deng Mu, a shrewd glint in his eyes, and grinned, "Sir, you have a good eye! This is my top-quality horse. It's spirited but has extraordinary speed and stamina. It's worth at least three hundred gold soul coins."

Upon learning that the horse was worth three hundred gold soul coins, Deng Mu looked at it with some surprise.

Although he was not short of money, he was still somewhat surprised when he heard the price.

"Boss, three hundred gold soul coins is really a bit expensive." Deng Mu shook his head slightly.

"Sir, don't underestimate these three hundred gold soul coins. And look at these muscles, they're clearly bursting with power, capable of traversing mountains and valleys as if they were flat ground. Moreover, this horse is extremely intelligent; with a little training, it will understand your every command."

Upon hearing this, the horse trader, still wearing his enthusiastic smile, calmly began to recount to Deng Mu the many benefits of the horse.

Listening to the horse dealer's introduction, Deng Mu didn't care. After some haggling, he bought the horse.

He mainly wanted to experience what it was like to ride a good horse; that was all he wanted.

Deng Mu led the black horse out of Tiandou City and arrived outside the city.

As soon as they arrived outside, Deng Mu mounted his horse. The black horse seemed to sense its master's urgency, and galloped off along the official road toward Sunset Forest.

A few days later, the sound of horses' hooves clattered as Deng Mu rode his black horse at breakneck speed along the official road, the trees beside the road flashing by like phantoms.

Midway through their journey, they came to a fork in the road. Deng Mu slowed his horse, wondering if he should ask someone for directions to ensure he was on the right track to Sunset Forest.

Just then, two villagers were resting by the field not far away.

Deng Mu spurred his horse closer, dismounted, and politely inquired, "Fellow countrymen, I wish to go to Sunset Forest. Is this the right road?"

The two villagers looked up at Deng Mu, who was dressed in fine clothes.

One of the older, dark-skinned villagers said, "Young master, this is the right road, but the section ahead is not easy to walk."

Deng Mu's heart skipped a beat, thinking this might be a good opportunity to gather information, so he asked, "Oh? What kind of difficult route is it? I hope you can tell me, fellow villager."

Another, younger villager, looking somewhat flustered, chimed in, "Young master, there's a very eerie place further ahead; we call it the Land of Death."

"The Land of Death?" Deng Mu's eyes lit up.

Isn't this somewhat similar to the Death Swamp he's looking for?

Deng Mu immediately became interested and asked, "Could you tell me more about this Land of Death?"

An older villager sighed and said, "That place used to be an ordinary wetland, but I don't know when it started, no one who went in ever came out alive. The older generation says that there are evil spirits haunting it, and there are mud pits that can swallow people. Even when you pass by, you can sometimes hear strange sounds coming from inside, like someone calling for help, or like the roar of a wild beast."

Deng Mu seemed thoughtful, then pressed on, "Do you know when this change occurred?"

A young villager scratched his head and said, "Nobody knows the exact time, but it was probably a few years ago. At first, only occasional adventurous people went missing, but later everyone gradually realized that something was wrong with that place, so no one dared to go near it."

Deng Mu thanked the two villagers, mounted his horse, and was convinced that this place of death might be the Death Swamp mentioned in the second test of the God of Life.

He urged the black horse on, speeding up as it galloped in the direction the villagers had pointed.

As they drew closer, the atmosphere around them seemed to grow increasingly sinister, and the once clear sky was now shrouded in a thin haze.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

A putrid stench filled the air, as if something was rotting in the darkness.

The black horse seemed to sense the danger, pawing the ground anxiously and neighing intermittently.

Deng Mu soothed the black horse and said softly, "Don't be afraid, let's go together and see what secrets this mysterious place holds."

As he spoke, he gripped the reins tightly and walked resolutely toward the eerie area ahead.

As soon as Deng Mu stepped into the edge of this area, he saw many messy footprints on the ground, which seemed to be left by many people who had tried to enter and then hurriedly fled.

Not far away, a pool of dark green mud was bubbling and emitting a nauseating smell.

He carefully skirted the mud pit and continued deeper.

As Deng Mu continued deeper, the stench grew stronger, and the surrounding mist seemed to have a life of its own, constantly twisting and swirling.

Suddenly, a blinding golden light burst forth from ahead, like a blazing sun tearing through the thick darkness.

Deng Mu quickened his pace, but when he got closer, he couldn't help but pause for a moment.

A woman was seen floating in mid-air, her body enveloped in rich golden flames, like a deity descending to earth.

Behind the woman, a pair of wings, each about ten feet long, fluttered slowly. The feathers shimmered with a holy metallic luster, and each flap brought forth a sacred ripple, dispelling the surrounding stench and darkness.

Her face was enveloped in a soft halo, as delicate as fine porcelain, yet exuding an aura of both majesty and compassion.

Beneath his high, straight nose, his lips were slightly pursed, exuding a sense of determination and resolve. His long, golden hair danced wildly, each strand seemingly infused with the radiance of the sun, making him exceptionally dazzling in the darkness.

Angel?!

When Deng Mu saw the woman, his mind raced to figure out who she was.
