Chapter 86 Conversation with Wang Dong

After saying goodbye to Tang Ya, Deng Mu headed towards Wang Dong's dormitory, intending to visit Wang Dong and give him something.

A short while later, Deng Mu arrived at the dormitory door, took out his key, and opened the door.

"Wang Dong, I'm back! Surprised? Unexpected..."

Deng Mu entered the room and began to speak, but before he could finish, he froze.

The bedroom was filled with mist, and wisps of water vapor permeated the air, making the view increasingly blurry.

Deng Mu looked closely and saw Wang Dong comfortably nestled in a wooden tub in the bedroom. The hot water covered her slender waist, and a few delicate petals floated on the surface, their subtle fragrance wafting through the air.

Upon hearing Deng Mu's voice, Wang Dong's body stiffened abruptly, and the ease on his face vanished instantly, replaced by an expression of both embarrassment and anxiety.

She quickly shrank into the wooden tub, as if that would help her escape the sudden awkward situation, her bright eyes filled with reproach and shyness.

Wang Dong bit her lip and shouted in a low voice, tinged with annoyance, "Deng Mu, why are you coming in at this time? Get out! Don't look!"

As he spoke, he stared nervously at Deng Mu.

Upon hearing Wang Dong's words, Deng Mu snapped out of his daze and quickly left the dormitory, closing the door behind him.

Deng Mu slapped his forehead and muttered to himself, "That's really strange. Why did it have to happen just when Wang Dong was taking a shower?"

I couldn't help but sigh. If I had known it would turn out like this, I should have knocked first before going in.

Deng Mu paced back and forth at the door, pondering how to salvage this awkward situation.

Just as he was hesitating, Wang Dong's voice came from inside the room: "Deng Mu, come in."

The tone had lost its previous embarrassment and anger, but instead carried an indescribable coldness.

Deng Mu nervously entered the dormitory and apologized to Wang Dong: "Wang Dong, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..."

Wang Dong had changed her clothes, and a few strands of wet hair clung to her cheeks, adding to her charming appearance.

Hearing Deng Mu's words, Wang Dong blushed and subconsciously raised her hand to tuck a wet strand of hair behind her ear. She lowered her eyes to avoid Deng Mu's gaze, biting her lower lip. It took her a while to recover before she said in a muffled voice, "Alright, stop nagging. I'm not blaming you."

But her flushed ears betrayed her embarrassment.

Thinking that this was the second time, and the first time was the same, she really didn't know what to say.

Deng Mu took out the gift he had bought in Beicheng and handed it to Wang Dong: "Wang Dong, this is a gift I bought near my home."

Wang Dong looked up at the gift in Deng Mu's hand, paused slightly, hesitated for a moment, and then reached out to take it.

The gift was wrapped very exquisitely, showing a special kind of care.

Wang Dong gently stroked the wrapping paper and asked softly, "What's this?"

The coldness in her voice had disappeared, replaced by curiosity and a softer tone.

Deng Mu scratched his head, his face full of anticipation, and said with a smile, "Open it and you'll see. I think it suits you quite well; I've been looking for it for a long time."

Wang Dong pursed his lips and carefully unpacked the package. Inside was a small, exquisite sandalwood box that emitted a faint woody fragrance.

Upon opening the box, a carved silver hairpin lay quietly inside. The flower on the hairpin head was delicately carved, and the petals were lifelike, reflecting a soft luster under the light.

A hint of surprise flashed in Wang Dong's eyes. She couldn't help but gently pick up the hairpin and examine it closely. The corners of her mouth unconsciously turned up, and the embarrassment and shyness in her heart faded a bit.

Seeing this, Deng Mu quickly seized the opportunity and said, "As soon as I saw it, I thought it would look especially good on you, so I bought it right away. I hope you like it."

Wang Dong gave him a reproachful look, but couldn't hide the joy in her eyes. She muttered softly, "You're kind enough to forgive me this time, but you can't do it again. If you're so reckless again, I'll really get angry."

Deng Mu nodded hurriedly and smiled with relief.

After carefully putting the items away, Wang Dong looked at Deng Mu and sighed, deciding to confront Deng Mu.

Wang Dong looked at Deng Mu and said, "Deng Mu, my real name is Tang Wutong. I'm from the Haotian Sect. I came to Shrek Academy disguised as a boy because I thought it would be fun."

Deng Mu listened to Wang Dong's words and looked at Wang Dong with some surprise. He did not expect her to confront him and come to Wang Dong's side.

Seeing Wang Dong's nervous expression, Deng Mu smiled and said, "Whether you are Tang Wutong or Wang Dong, you are my best friend, and that's enough. I won't hate you because you lied to me, and you've chosen to tell me the truth now."

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

A hint of emotion flashed in Wang Dong's eyes, and his eyes reddened slightly: "I was worried that if you knew my real gender and identity, you would think I had been lying to you and would break off our friendship, so I kept it from you."

She couldn't help but recall what happened yesterday. Jiang Nannan came over and talked to her for a long time, trying to figure out her gender.

If it's a man, Jiang Nannan hopes she can keep some distance from Deng Mu and not be so intimate; if it's a woman, she shouldn't hide it from Deng Mu.

Deng Mu listened to Wang Dong's words with a hint of helplessness: "Wang Dong, have you forgotten? You told me once before that you're actually a woman. If I really cared about that kind of thing, would I have come to find you?"

Wang Dong was slightly taken aback, then her eyes filled with realization. She bit her lip lightly and said with a hint of annoyance, "Oh dear, I was so nervous that I forgot about it. I was worried that you didn't take it seriously."

As he spoke, he raised his hand and rubbed his head, his face full of embarrassment.

Deng Mu smiled, reached out and gently patted Wang Dong's shoulder, teasingly saying, "You, you just love to worry about things that aren't your business. Do you think I, Deng Mu, am the kind of person who holds grudges? I've truly considered you a friend from the bottom of my heart, and I won't easily change my mind no matter what."

Wang Dong looked up at Deng Mu, her eyes filled with gratitude and emotion. She nodded earnestly, "Yes, I was overthinking it. It's my good fortune to have such an open-minded friend like you."

After telling his story, Wang Dong felt inexplicably relieved.

Deng Mu patted Wang Dong's head and said, "Then Wang Dong, you should still pretend to be a man and choose to interact with outsiders based on your true gender."

Listening to Deng Mu's words, Wang Dong couldn't help but think about what the best approach would be.

After thinking for a moment, Wang Dong looked at Deng Mu and said, "I'll pretend to be a man this semester, and reveal my true gender next year. Although I'll have to come out eventually, I want to focus on my cultivation and don't want to be distracted by other people's gossip."

Hearing Wang Dong's words, Deng Mu nodded and smiled, saying, "Yes, I'm really looking forward to seeing Tang Wutong with her long hair reaching her waist and wearing a dress."

Wang Dong's cheeks flushed instantly. She raised her hand and lightly punched Deng Mu, scolding him, "You're just teasing me. You make it sound like you can't wait."
