Chapter 108 Appearance

Inside the iceberg lies Deliora, sealed away by Ul at the cost of his life. Deliora is one of the legendary demons created by the "Dark Wizard" Zeref.

Uru probably never imagined that one of her disciples would attempt to break the seal and release the imprisoned demon.

A masked youth stood before the iceberg, gazing at Deliora. "It's almost time. Soon, the seal will be completely broken. I will prove to you, Uru, that I have surpassed you."

Although the mask covered most of his face, the exposed parts revealed his deep-set eyes, with a cold, icy blue light emanating from them.

"Lord Leon." A shirtless man with a dog-like face appeared before Leon: "An unfamiliar mage has landed on the island."

Leon simply waved his hand dismissively, not caring at all: "Just send them away. We're at a critical moment right now, and I need to keep a close eye on what's going on here."

"Woof, I understand. Leave everything to us," Toby replied respectfully.

Meanwhile, Wes was heading towards the pyramids, and he sensed that the magic here was far more intense than outside.

"Is this an effect of the 'Lunar Drops' ritual?"

Wes pondered to himself, the moon representing many symbolic meanings in the mysticism, and for mages, it contained immeasurable power.

[I wonder if Urudia deliberately leaked this ritual to Leon.]

Weiss was very interested in the island's inhabitants.

The island's inhabitants have peculiar appearances, resembling legendary demons.

These islanders live the lives of ordinary fishermen, no different from people outside the island, with similar languages and customs.

He has no extraordinary magical talent.

What caused these residents to have such unusual appearances? Was it the product of an experiment by a mad mage? Or the work of a demon as a prank?

Just as Wes was pondering these questions, Toby suddenly jumped out of the nearby bushes and blocked his way.

"Stop, stranger! No way ahead!" Toby bared his fangs, making a threatening gesture.

"Kobold?" Wes couldn't help but blurt out, looking at Toby's unusually human appearance.

"Damn it," Toby retorted, spitting as he spoke, "I'm not a kobold, I just like dogs. Dogs are man's best friend."

Toby seemed lost in his own world, and began to talk incessantly.

Wes didn't understand his thought process and thought: Just because you like dogs doesn't mean you have to turn yourself into a dog, right?

However, the current situation is that the road ahead is covered with weeds, and the only passage is blocked by Toby.

"Could you please move aside? You're blocking my way."

Upon hearing this, Toby scratched the back of his head sheepishly and said, "Oh, sorry." Then he moved aside to make way for Wes.

"Thanks."

"Don't mention it... my foot!" Toby realized what he meant and immediately bared his fangs again. "What a cunning fellow! He almost fooled me!"

Wes looked at Toby, feeling a mix of amusement and exasperation.

Is this guy just stupid or naive?

"Damn it, lying to Master Toby will come at a terrible price!" Toby's face darkened, his nails grew longer and turned dark green. "If my nails scratch even a little skin, the whole person will be paralyzed and unable to move."

Wes tried to reason with him, saying, "I don't have time to fight you right now..."

"That's not up to you!" Toby crossed his arms and charged straight at Wes. He was incredibly agile, moving so fast that his movements were almost invisible.

Despite Toby's aggressive attack, Wes remained standing still.

"Haha, scared you, huh!" Toby laughed triumphantly, his claws piercing into "Wes's" body. "Don't worry, I won't kill you. My magic is a paralysis spell; it will only make you temporarily unconscious."

"Really? You're so kind."

"That's right, I'm not one to kill indiscriminately." Toby was smug after hearing the praise, but the next second, his expression changed drastically.

Because the sound came from behind him.

The limbs of "Wes," which he had stabbed, suddenly twisted and extended, transforming into several strong and flexible vines. These vines bound Toby tightly, one loop after another.

No matter how hard Toby struggled, he couldn't break free from these tough restraints.

"Damn it!" Toby roared angrily, but his voice was suppressed by the vines and sounded weak and powerless.

"Give up. This is my improved Devil Vine. You can't break free with brute force alone."

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Toby lay on the ground like an insect, his body wriggling laboriously, bound by the vines.

"How could this happen..." he roared angrily, "Bastard! If you're so capable, fight me head-on! What kind of skill is it to sneak up on me from behind?!"

Wes ignored Toby's shouting and simply looked at him calmly. "Take me to see your boss."

"Don't even think about it! I will never betray Leon!" Toby refused resolutely.

"Oh, so your boss's name is Leon," Wes teased Toby, looking down at him. "Can you tell me more about him?"

"You cunning fellow!" He immediately realized he might have let slip crucial information, and Toby's face turned panicked, sweat trickling down his cheeks. "Don't even think about getting any information out of me!"

"You're just talking to yourself." Wes's gaze shifted to the depths of the woods. "Besides, it seems your boss has already arrived."

With a soft rustling of clothes against the grass, a masked figure appeared before the two.

The moment he saw Leon appear, Toby cried out, "Leon!" Ignoring his physical restraints, he desperately crawled forward until he reached Leon's feet.

Wes didn't stop it; he just watched quietly as it all unfolded.

Leon didn't respond to Toby immediately, but silently watched Wes until he walked up to Toby and placed a hand on the devil vine that was wrapped around Toby.

A chill spread from his palm, covering the tangled vines.

Toby felt the restraints on his body suddenly stiffen, transforming into cold, hard ice vines. Under Leon's precise control, the ice did not touch Toby's body.

Toby felt the restraints gradually loosen, and he mustered all his strength. Once Leon's chill had completely frozen the Devil Vines, Toby suddenly exerted his power, his muscles taut like springs, and then he broke free!

With a sharp crack, the devil vines, frozen into ice blocks, shattered into countless fragments, like broken glass scattered on the ground.
