Chapter 126 The Fisherman
Chapter 126 The Fisherman
"Did that kid run away?" Makarov sighed. "It's fine if he ran away. The Phantom Lords are already showing signs of starting a war, and there's a ton of stuff to deal with at the guild."
After saying that, he turned and left the messy place with his hands behind his back.
In reality, Wes didn't run away; he simply hid and was currently examining the wand in his hand, which had developed several cracks.
This wand had accompanied him through more than a decade of trials and tribulations, witnessing countless battles, but it could no longer withstand such a high intensity of magical release.
"Don't worry, I won't abandon you. It's time to upgrade you," Wes whispered to the wand, as if it could truly hear him.
"But the more important thing now is to find the little rats underground."
As soon as Wes finished speaking, the lurking creatures underground immediately sensed an unprecedented crisis and hurriedly tried to escape.
With a deafening roar, Wes blasted the ground open, sending dirt flying everywhere.
A figure emerged from the ground; this person was none other than Thor, one of the "Four Elements" of the "Spectre Dominator" guild.
"Stop! I meant no harm!" Thor's voice was tinged with fear as he frantically struggled to crawl out of the dirt, his body covered in mud and bits of grass.
Wes looked warily at the person who had just emerged from the ground.
Saul had messy green hair, wore a well-tailored brown suit, and a monocle, a typical gentleman's attire.
This outfit seemed completely out of place with his sleazy appearance.
Wes easily recognized him.
"Did your guild leader send you to track Makarov?" Wes immediately shook his head, dismissing the guess. "That's unlikely. You're capable enough to fool Makarov. It seems you arrived nearby while we were fighting?"
"Hey~ hey," Solmo rubbed his hands together, a smile on his face, trying to make himself look as friendly as possible.
"The guild leader only asked me to monitor the situation in the city, I never expected to witness such a spectacular duel. A contest between two strong individuals is truly a rare sight!"
Wes's face darkened. "Is it good-looking?" he asked coldly.
"Absolutely unbelievable!" Thor managed to squeeze out the words stiffly, realizing his precarious situation, and tried to explain, "I didn't mean to..."
Wes had no interest in listening to his explanations.
He impatiently waved his arm, instantly petrifying Thor and rendering him unable to move without even a chance to resist.
"This guy probably knows a lot of secrets about the 'Spectre Ruler'," Wes thought to himself, not intending to end Thor's life easily.
He decided to delve deeper into the other person's memories to find any clues that might be useful for his next move.
So he focused his mental energy and directly invaded Thor's brain to examine its memories.
Through Thor's memories, Wes not only learned about the details of the recent activities of the "Spectre Dominator" guild, but also unexpectedly discovered some unique techniques Thor used to cultivate earth magic.
This information wasn't very important to Wes, but it was better than nothing.
More importantly, Wes also learned that Joseph Paula, the guild leader of the "Spectre Dominator" guild, had been secretly collecting a large amount of valuable materials.
Only Joseph Paula himself knew the exact location of the hiding place, but Wes could always find clues by following the trail.
"I've run out of materials, so this is a good time to replenish them." Wes gazed into the distance, seemingly already anticipating his upcoming harvest.
"Anyway, he'll eventually be defeated by Fairy Tail, and I can just sit back and reap the benefits."
Wes became very interested in Joseph Paula's private collection of valuable materials and his mastery of dark magic.
After obtaining the necessary intelligence, Wess tossed Thor aside like trash, leaving him petrified.
He turned his attention to something more important: how to improve the performance of his wand.
[Wait a few more days, and I can use that time to think about upgrading the wand. I might as well draw a draft first.]
Meanwhile, the conflict between Fairy Tail and Phantom Lord is raging.
Weiss did not directly intervene in the conflict between the two sides, but chose to remain an observer and quietly watch the situation unfold.
Ultimately, just as he had predicted, Fairy Tail defeated Phantom Lord with the combined efforts of everyone, and its guild master Joseph Pora was also completely defeated by Fairy Tail's guild master Makarov using the super magic "Fairy Law".
Throughout the entire process, Wes kept a close eye on the changes in the battle, especially the powerful war fortress displayed by the Spectre Dominator and the "Fairy Law" cast by Makarov, which broadened his horizons.
After the war ended, the Magic Council quickly intervened, imprisoning the defeated Phantom Lord President Joseph Pora and preparing to send him back to the Council headquarters for trial.
When the council's escort force left Magnolia, Weiss had the perfect opportunity to make his move.
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
As the council procession gradually disappeared into the distance, a young man wearing glasses rode his horse at the very front, attracting considerable attention.
He suddenly raised a hand and commanded, "Stop."
The entire group immediately stopped moving forward.
The armed forces belonging to the Magic Council quickly adjusted their formation and surrounded the prison cart with spears in hand.
Just then, Weiss slowly emerged from the nearby woods, facing directly towards the council's escorts.
"Please hand over President Joseph Paula to me."
Captain Glasses dismounted, gripping his wand tightly and pointing it at Wes. "You're a remnant of the Spectres?"
Wes shook his head. "It seems you're going to refuse. I wasn't planning on using force."
"Arrogant!" Captain Glasses launched the first attack.
In less than a minute, the once imposing council members collapsed to the ground, incapacitated.
Wes easily overcame all obstacles, but he did not kill the council members; he merely rendered them temporarily incapacitated.
He walked to the prison cart and easily opened the cage.
Joseph Bora was in extremely bad shape. The backlash from the super magic, coupled with the seal from the council, had made this once invincible Ten Wizard Saints incredibly weak.
"Who are you? You didn't come to rescue me?"
Wes directly extracted Joseph's memories.
In this way, he not only learned the secret of Joseph's practice of dark magic, but also discovered the location of a hidden treasure.
