Chapter 312 Naval Response
Chapter 312 Naval Response
Law carried three Celestial Dragons and swaggered down the streets of the Sabaody Archipelago, shocking countless people and greatly impacting their worldview.
On this vast ocean, the Celestial Dragons have always been regarded as sacred and inviolable beings. They are high above and domineering, and when have they ever suffered such treatment? Now they are being carried around like dead pigs, which is truly unbelievable.
The news spread like wildfire.
Sengoku, far away at the Navy Headquarters, was sitting at his desk dealing with various matters when suddenly, the Den Den Mushi on his desk rang again.
He frowned, reached out to answer the phone, and listened to the anxious report coming from the other end, his face growing increasingly grim.
After hanging up the phone, Sengoku stared intently at Garp, who was stuffing senbei into his mouth, and his anger flared up instantly.
"Damn it!! Now is not the time to eat!!"
Sengoku couldn't help but shout loudly, the sound echoing in the office, making the windows seem to tremble slightly.
"Ha~ha~ha~"
However, Garp seemed not to hear Sengoku's roar. Seeing Sengoku's exasperated appearance, he laughed until tears streamed down his face. His hearty laughter sounded particularly abrupt in the oppressive office atmosphere.
"It's just three pieces of trash who got caught. More serious things have happened before."
Garp said nonchalantly, referring to the God Valley incident from back then.
In that incident, many major events occurred that were enough to shake the world order, so in Garp's view, the capture of these three Celestial Dragons doesn't seem to be such a big deal.
"This time is different."
Sengoku said with a solemn expression, knowing full well that the seriousness of this incident was far more complex than Garp had imagined.
"What's different?" Garp stopped laughing, picked his nose, and looked impatient.
"Many civilians saw it," Sengoku explained with a serious expression.
The Celestial Dragons are sacred and inviolable; this is a consensus on the high seas, created by the World Government over 800 years.
If people were to find out that the Celestial Dragons are just like them and can be treated this way, the consequences would be unimaginable.
"Hmph~" Garp crossed his arms and said with a disdainful look, "I won't protect those trash this time."
In Garp's heart, he was already extremely dissatisfied with the Celestial Dragons' actions. Now that he saw them suffer a setback, he had no intention of helping them. In fact, he even felt quite relieved.
Sengoku knew in his heart that although Garp said these words lightly, he was not feeling good inside.
After all, Ace had been defeated by Blackbeard and handed over to the Navy in exchange for a spot as a Shichibukai. In order to eliminate the Whitebeard Pirates, the Navy even planned to publicly execute Ace. All of this had already caused Garp great distress.
So Garp is just treating the capture of the Celestial Dragons as a joke, using it to ease his inner pain.
Sengoku sighed helplessly. He knew in his heart that with the Celestial Dragon captured, the Navy had to send an admiral to handle the matter.
It was Wes who was making the move, and sending only one general wasn't enough to guarantee success.
Furthermore, Akainu's aggressive style makes him unsuitable for hostage rescue work.
After much deliberation, Sengoku finally decided to send Aokiji and Kizaru out together, hoping to successfully resolve this crisis, restore the Celestial Dragons' "dignity," and stabilize the turbulent situation on the seas that was about to be disrupted by this incident.
Weiss leisurely found a coffee shop in the Sabaody Archipelago and went straight in.
At this moment, the shop owner and customers had already fled in panic after hearing the news of the Celestial Dragons' capture, leaving the coffee shop empty except for Wes and Law.
Wes walked confidently behind the bar, made himself and Roger a cup of rich coffee, and then sat there leisurely, as if the bustling world outside because of them had nothing to do with him.
"What use are these three people?"
"Luo couldn't help but ask. He knew that Wes never did things without a reason, and that he must have some special purpose in kidnapping the Celestial Dragons this time.
"Vegapunk told me a story."
Wes took a small sip of his coffee and then slowly began to recount the story of Big Bear and Bonnie.
His voice was calm and steady as he recounted the complex and poignant story between the two men.
Luo sat quietly to the side, listening intently, a thoughtful expression gradually appearing in his eyes.
The experiences of these two men were indeed somewhat similar to his own. He had always regarded Rosinante as his family, but now he would never have the chance to see him again. Whenever he thought of this, a faint sadness would well up in his heart.
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
"Please, Doctor, if you have the chance, help this father and daughter."
As Wes spoke, he casually kicked the three Celestial Dragons lying unconscious on the ground, as if they were just a few worthless pieces of junk: "Let's just make use of them."
Before long, Law suddenly sensed with his keen Observation Haki that a large number of Marines were rushing towards the coffee shop and soon surrounded it.
"They're here," Luo said in a low voice, a hint of wariness flashing in his eyes.
Wes, however, remained unperturbed, leisurely sipping his coffee, as if the navy posed no significant threat.
"Squeak~" Just then, the door of the coffee shop was gently pushed open.
Aokiji walked in alone. He first glanced at the Celestial Dragon who was carelessly tossed on the ground, then scratched his head and habitually uttered, "Arara."
"Would you like some coffee?"
Wes greeted Aokiji with a smile, as if he were meeting an old friend.
Aokiji did not refuse Wes's invitation and went straight to the table to sit down.
From the moment Aokiji entered, Law kept a close eye on him, his eyes filled with wariness. After all, Aokiji was a Marine Admiral with formidable strength, and no one knew what he would do next.
Seeing this, Wes smiled slightly and gently pushed the steaming cup of coffee in front of Aokiji.
Seeing the hesitation on Aokiji's face, Wes couldn't help but laugh and say, "Don't worry, there's no poison inside."
Aokiji felt a little embarrassed by Wes's words. He cleared his throat lightly, trying to ease the slightly awkward atmosphere, but in his heart he was secretly wondering what Wes' purpose was in kidnapping the Celestial Dragon.
