Chapter 371 A Foolish Move

Seeing that Wes remained unmoved, Ross could no longer contain his pent-up frustration. With a grim face, he nodded slightly and signaled to the soldiers beside him to take action.

Upon receiving the order, a soldier quickly stepped forward, reached out and grabbed Wes's shoulder, saying, "Sir, please cooperate with us."

Just before the soldier's hand could touch Wes's shoulder, it seemed to encounter some incredibly powerful force, and his entire hand instantly turned into dust, scattering into the air.

Before the soldier could even let out a scream, his eyes widened in pain and shock, and he staggered backward.

Seeing this, the other soldiers instinctively took a few steps back, their faces filled with fear, but they quickly raised their guns, pointing them at Wes in unison, and shouted, "Don't move!!"

The dark muzzle of the gun looked particularly intimidating in the cramped potion shop, but Wes remained calm.

"Calm down, everyone calm down!!"

Tony quickly spoke up to calm the extremely tense soldiers, knowing full well that if a gun went off accidentally, the situation would become uncontrollable.

Seeing this, Ross trembled with rage. He was about to give the order again for his soldiers to attack without regard for anything else, but at that moment, he was horrified to find that he could not make a sound, and he could not even move his eyelids. His body was completely restrained, and an overwhelming sense of panic surged in his heart.

"Rose, calm down..."

While continuing to calm the agitated soldiers, Tony turned to look at Ross and finally realized something was wrong.

"Wes, I think this is just a misunderstanding..."

Tony forced himself to utter nonsense that even he didn't believe, trying to ease the tension between the two sides in this tense and volatile situation. But his words sounded so pale and powerless.

Everyone present knew that things had developed to this point and could not be easily dismissed as a "misunderstanding."

"This is not a misunderstanding, this is a declaration of war."

Wess spoke with a cold expression and icy tone, then slowly stood up.

As soon as he stood up, the soldiers who had been pointing their guns at him became even more nervous. They cautiously took a few steps back, their knuckles turning white from gripping their guns so tightly. But they dared not put down their weapons, so they remained in this stalemate, their eyes filled with fear and vigilance.

Wes didn't glance at the people inside the shop again and walked straight out of the shop.

Ross floated up, as if pulled by an invisible hand, and slowly moved out of the shop along with Wes.

When Weiss stepped outside, he discovered that the usually bustling street was now completely surrounded by layers of military personnel.

Armored vehicles stood ready, their heavy weapons aimed at the direction Wes was standing, and numerous heavily armed soldiers surrounded him.

"Since you want war, then we'll give you war."

Looking at the imposing formation before him, Wes showed no fear whatsoever.

Just then, Ross's floating body underwent a strange change, like a balloon being continuously inflated, growing larger and larger. His originally normal shape rapidly expanded, looking both comical and chillingly eerie.

"Stop, Wes!!"

Seeing this, Tony shouted anxiously.

"Bang!"

Ross's body suddenly exploded.

Tony closed his eyes in pain.

He realized that things had taken a turn for the worst. He had only wanted Wes's help to push for the superhero registration bill, but he never expected it to turn into such an uncontrollable situation, which was completely beyond his expectations.

"Fire!!"

Someone shouted, and then gunfire erupted like raindrops, countless bullets flying towards Wes. In an instant, smoke filled the air and flames flickered.

"Ceasefire!"

"Cease fire immediately!"

Tony frantically shouted, trying to stop the frenzied shooting, knowing full well that it wouldn't harm Wes and would only make the situation more uncontrollable.

However, the soldiers were already in a state of tension and panic, and could not hear Tony's shouts at all. Gunshots continued to rise and fall, deafeningly loud, and the entire street was shrouded in smoke.

Unfortunately, Tony was powerless to stop the out-of-control situation. Bullets rained down on Wes until the magazines of the soldiers' guns were emptied, and the incessant gunfire finally stopped.

Everyone waited anxiously for the smoke to clear, their hearts pounding in their throats, wondering what would become of Wes after this hail of bullets.

When the smoke finally cleared, the scene before them made everyone gasp in shock: Wes was standing there completely unharmed, without a single bullet wound on his body.

"I can explain."

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Seeing this, Tony quickly stepped in front of Wes, trying to make a final effort to de-escalate the situation. He knew that if Wes was completely enraged, something even more terrible would happen next.

But Wes simply waved his hand, and Tony was tightly bound, unable to move, trapped in place, his eyes filled with anxiety and helplessness.

A mind scepter had appeared in Wes's hand without his knowledge.

"Fighting among themselves."

In an instant, the soldiers who had been on high alert seemed to be possessed, their eyes becoming empty and vacant. They mechanically pointed their guns at each other and, without the slightest hesitation, pulled the triggers.

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

Gunfire erupted again in the street, but this time, it was the soldiers who fell. Their bodies were thrown backward by the impact of the bullets, and blood spread across the ground, quickly forming pools of blood. The entire street instantly turned into a bloody battlefield.

Tony watched this horrific scene unfold before his eyes, his heart filled with immense pain. He closed his eyes tightly, unable to bear watching any longer.

The matter is clearly not over yet, and Wes is not the kind of person who will let this go easily.

Although Ross, as Secretary of Defense, wields considerable power within the military, his actions today are clearly orchestrated by someone else, suggesting that a more crucial figure is secretly controlling everything behind the scenes.

Weiss's eyes flashed with icy coldness. He had already made up his mind to find out the forces behind this and make them pay a heavy price for what they had done today.

With a swift movement, he soared into the sky, hurtling towards the heavens like a cannonball. His speed was astonishing; in the blink of an eye, he became a tiny black dot and disappeared from Tony's sight.

"Sir! He flew towards Washington!"

Jarvis's mechanical yet slightly urgent voice loudly reminded Tony.

Washington, D.C., is the political center of the United States, home to many powerful figures, various secret agencies, and decision-making bodies that influence the direction of the entire country and even the world.

Wes flew in that direction, undoubtedly to stir up an even bigger storm, and no one could predict what terrible consequences this storm would cause.
