Chapter 56 Sacrificial Ritual

Weiss's research was not progressing smoothly. The sacrificial ritual at the Fountain of Youth seemed simple on the surface, but it was filled with an eerie atmosphere.

Is the Fountain of Youth formed naturally, or was it created by some mysterious "deity"?

Wes wasn't going to try it lightly until he had a complete understanding of it, after all, he wasn't sacrificing someone's life, but he hadn't yet figured out how to convert the Philosopher's Stone into pure energy through the Fountain of Youth sacrifice ritual.

He pulled his attention away from the Fountain of Youth and focused it on the Holy Grail. After careful examination, Wes noticed a peculiar pattern engraved inside the Grail, which he guessed might be a magic circle.

However, Wes himself had never seen a similar magic circle before. "Perhaps there are books in the Hogwarts library that describe similar magic circles."

Wes rarely felt frustrated by his limited knowledge of the magical realm.

After getting everything ready, Wes couldn't wait to return to Hogwarts and head straight to the library.

The library was dimly lit, and the air was filled with the musty smell of old books. He entered the forbidden section of the library, which contained only chilling books of dark magic.

The bookshelves were covered in a thick layer of dust. Some of the books there even seemed to possess consciousness, and as soon as they sensed Wes's arrival, they began to tempt him to take them out.

Their allure had no effect on Weiss, who remained unmoved and focused intently on finding the books he needed.

Soon, he found a book called "Sacrifice - The Forbidden Law" in a secluded corner.

The book's cover was damaged and the edges were yellowed, suggesting it had been neglected for a long time.

"This is it!" Wes exclaimed, as if he had found a treasure, and borrowed the book.

Back in his office, Wes eagerly sat down at his desk and gently opened the book's title page. A striking line of text was written on it: "Are you sure you want to open this book?" Wes was stunned. "This book's title page is truly unique!" This only piqued his curiosity further.

"Is the first page really that interesting?" Wes thought to himself. There must be a reason why this book was included in the restricted section.

So, out of curiosity, he turned to the next page and began to read carefully.

What's boring is that, apart from the title page, the rest of the book is very serious and formal, with no interesting sentences like those on the first page.

While reading, Wes learned that the author of the book was named Olba Yeremias, a wizard who had a deep interest in ancient times.

He meticulously documented how he gradually delved into those long-forgotten magical and sacrificial rituals.

He collected various materials from all over the world and finally came to an astonishing conclusion: gods really exist.

The evidence is the various sacrificial rituals and the magic circles associated with them.

In ancient times, our ancestors offered sacrifices to the gods in order to seek their protection.

There are related records all over the world.

At first, Olba Yeremias did not believe in the existence of gods, but by chance, he repaired an ancient magic circle and arranged the offerings according to the ritual.

He proceeded with the ritual step by step, and at first nothing seemed amiss. But as the ritual reached its final step, he suddenly heard a mysterious voice, a voice that seemed to come from another world.

Then, he saw the "gods" with his own eyes.

However, the price of seeing the gods was losing his sight, and no matter how many methods he tried afterward, he could not cure his eyes.

Yeremias meticulously recorded his research and experiences, and titled it "Sacrifice - The Taboo Method".

At the end of the book, he solemnly warned: "Do not attempt any sacrificial rituals! This will not only bring you unpredictable consequences, but may even cost you your life."

Weiss slowly closed the book in his hands, his heart filled with turmoil.

Was what Olba Jeremias saw a real "god"? Or was it just an illusion, a dream, or something else entirely?

Who knows if these sacrificial magic circles are a backup plan left by someone?

Unless... Wes has a sudden inspiration, unless he invents his own unique sacrificial magic circle.

Weiss reopened the book and carefully studied it, word by word.

"Yes, it'll definitely work!" Wes exclaimed excitedly, slamming his hands on the table.

The core elements of sacrifice include: believers—the ones who provide the offerings; the offerings themselves; the sacrificial ritual; and the recipients of the offerings—the deities.

Wes carefully considered it and it seemed that he had gathered all the necessary information.

The devout house-elf Jandy undoubtedly treated Wes as a god.

The Philosopher's Stone is a rare treasure among offerings.

God, although Wes hasn't reached that level yet, the panel gives him unlimited possibilities.

All that is currently lacking is a dedicated sacrificial ceremony.

"That's not a problem. I can design a sacrificial ritual that's unique to me." At this moment, Wes was unusually excited and couldn't wait to spread out the paper and begin his creation.

He combined the magic circles in the Holy Grail Book and tried to construct a completely new magic circle of his own, which was no easy task, as it involved "true names".

"True name" has extraordinary significance for high-ranking beings such as gods and demons. Once an ordinary person knows the demon's true name, they can get rid of it.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Wes Irwin is a name, a code name, but not his real name. This stumped Wes. What kind of real name should he choose? Could he bear such a name? Most importantly, would his real name be recognized by the "world"?

This was crucial for Wes, and he racked his brains until his head was about to explode, but he still couldn't decide on his real name.

After all, this is not something that can be decided easily.

However, Wes also knew that he was not the kind of person whose lifespan was coming to an end, and he still had plenty of time to think and make choices.

Moreover, designing a sacrificial ceremony takes a considerable amount of time; it's not something that can be done overnight.

-

A few days after Wes returned to Hogwarts, he was summoned to Dumbledore's office, where Dumbledore handed him the latest copy of the Daily Prophet.

Weiss took the newspaper, his eyes landing on the particularly eye-catching headline.

Sirius Black, history's most ruthless criminal, successfully escapes from Azkaban!!

Next to the headline was a line that read: "Serious Negligence by the Ministry of Magic: Cornelius Fudge Resigns!!"

The newspaper also included a photo of Sirius Black.

In the photo, Sirius Black is thin and looks gaunt, with messy and greasy black hair that looks like a tangled clump of seaweed.

His cheeks were sunken, his eyes were lifeless, and his cheekbones were prominent; he looked like a walking corpse.

Wes knew that Sirius was a Transfiguration master, an illegal Animagus who could transform into a large black dog.

Using this ability, he evaded the supervision of the Dementors and became the first prisoner in history to escape from Azkaban.

"Sirius's escape caused panic, and people questioned whether the Ministry of Magic could protect everyone. Fudge was furious," Dumbledore said slowly.

"Professor, I don't think this has anything to do with me."

Wes didn't want to get involved in these things; he felt he didn't need to get involved.

He stood up, ready to leave. His immediate concern was designing a sacrificial ritual unique to him.

The author is still at work, and your support is my motivation to keep updating every day. Please vote with monthly tickets, thank you.
