Chapter 94 The Death of Voldemort
Chapter 94 The Death of Voldemort
Voldemort was momentarily distracted, and Dumbledore immediately seized the opportunity.
A "Blazing Flames" spell nearly hit him, forcing him to dodge quickly. However, the cost of distraction was high, as Wes immediately joined the battle.
"Senior, being distracted in battle is not a good habit." At the same time, he swung his wand, "Rapid Fire!"
Countless light projectiles rained down on Voldemort like a storm. Voldemort hastily deployed his magical shield for defense, but against the combined attack of two powerful wizards, his shield quickly crumbled.
Upon seeing this, Dumbledore immediately cast the Disarming Charm: "Disarm!" An invisible force knocked Voldemort's wand from his hand, depriving him of his most powerful tool.
Wes, however, was not so gentle. He directly cast an extremely cruel Cruciatus Curse: "Crucible!" This curse struck Voldemort squarely.
Intense pain instantly swept over his entire body, as if every bone was being crushed and every muscle was being torn apart. This pain prevented Voldemort from concentrating his mind to mobilize the magic within his body to fight back.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Wes threw out a specially made chain, binding Voldemort tightly. Then, he cast a gravity charm, causing Voldemort to lie sprawled on the ground, looking utterly pathetic.
"Damn it!" Voldemort roared in agony and humiliation as he channeled all his magic into trying to break free of his restraints.
But after struggling to break free, he realized that the chain was no ordinary chain. It seemed to be able to sense the flow of magic within his body and tightened its grip as he struggled. The chain embedded itself deeply into his flesh, and blood began to seep out.
"Senior, stop resisting." Wes pulled a strange disc from his pocket and pressed it onto Voldemort's body.
Almost simultaneously, Voldemort felt his magic being drained away bit by bit, his skin growing paler until it lost all color.
The loss of both blood and magic made Voldemort drowsy and his eyes began to glaze over.
Dumbledore looked at the weakened Voldemort before him and sighed, "Tom."
Voldemort barely managed to lift his head and, with his last strength, said, "Dumbledore, don't be so hypocritical." However, before he could finish speaking, Wes forced a bottle of truth serum into his mouth.
This made Voldemort's eyes even more unfocused.
"This is a specially made drug, ten times more potent than regular truth serum. Ask him any questions quickly, or I'm worried he'll go crazy from the strong effects."
Dumbledore composed himself and began asking for the information he desperately needed: the location of the Horcruxes, the list of Death Eaters, and how to resurrect them, among other crucial details.
Voldemort answered every question and revealed all his secrets without reservation.
These answers completely extinguished Dumbledore's last shred of pity; Voldemort's crimes were irreversible.
Ultimately, Dumbledore ended Voldemort's life with his own hands and mercifully buried him in the Riddle family cemetery.
On the other side, Moody, along with Harry and Cedric, caught Peter Pettigrew, who was trying to escape by transforming into a rat. Pettigrew kept begging for mercy, hoping Harry would spare him for his father's sake.
But Harry learned from Sirius Black that it was Peter Pettigrew who betrayed his parents, leading to their deaths. Hearing Pettigrew so shamelessly mention his parents, Harry was enraged and began punching and kicking him.
Peter Pettigrew curled up in a ball, shivering.
Dumbledore arrived just in time and stopped him: "That's enough, Harry. Sirius's crimes need to be cleared by him, and you don't want him to stay in Black's old house forever, do you?"
Harry stopped, took a few deep breaths, and tried to calm himself down.
"Have you seen a large snake?" Wes was referring to Nagini, one of Voldemort's Horcruxes.
Cedric pointed to a large hole not far away: "While you were fighting, I saw a large snake crawl out of that hole."
Dumbledore hurried to the cave entrance and said with some regret, "It got away."
Wes retrieved the five golden spheres, and with the spheres being retrieved, the barrier was dispelled.
Weiss explained, "This barrier has a flaw: it can't extend underground."
"Is that snake important?" Cedric asked, puzzled. Although the snake was enormous, there were many more wondrous creatures in the wizarding world, such as the dragons in the Triwizard Tournament. Therefore, when he saw the giant snake, he didn't pay it any special attention, focusing instead on helping Moody and Harry capture Peter Pettigrew.
It must be said that Peter Pettigrew's ability to escape is truly first-rate. If it weren't for Moody's prosthetic eye having a tracking function, he might have really gotten away.
Wes and Dumbledore didn't elaborate on Nagini's importance, not wanting to burden the two children with too much information. Dumbledore then used a Restoration Charm to restore the graveyard to its original state, ensuring that Muggles wouldn't discover the great battle that had taken place there.
Before leaving, Dumbledore instructed Harry and Cedric to keep it a secret and not to reveal what had happened that day.
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
Then, the five returned to Hogwarts.
When they returned to Hogwarts, all eyes were on them.
Officials from the Ministry of Magic, professors, spectators, and the families of the heroes were all eager to know what had just happened.
Wes and Moody quietly left the crowd, leaving the responsibility of explaining to Dumbledore. As the headmaster of Hogwarts, Dumbledore was the most suitable person to handle this situation.
They hurried to the Durmstrang School of Witchcraft and Wizardry's headquarters, hoping to find Barty Crouch Jr. disguised as Karkaroff, but when they arrived, they found it deserted.
"Have they already escaped?" Moody's prosthetic eye darted around, searching for any possible trace.
"He can't go far; you can't Apparate inside Hogwarts," Wes calmly analyzed. Based on the timeline, from Barty Crouch's departure until now, he shouldn't have left the Hogwarts area.
Moody handed the cage to Wes, which contained Peter Pettigrew, who had been turned back into a mouse.
"Leave the tracking to me. The Death Eaters won't escape my grasp." It seems they've discovered some clues.
"Do you need my help?" Wes asked.
"I'm not so old that I can't even handle a Death Eater." With that, he chased after it in one direction.
Wes watched Moody's departing figure, then turned around and took Peter Pettigrew back to Hogwarts.
