Mystery: Starting from the Shadow World
Chapter 100 Funeral
Chapter 100 Funeral
"Ince Zangwell—!" The blazing white spear, amidst the youth's furious roar, was hurled at the only culprit standing before him.
Ince's expression remained indifferent, even showing a hint of impatience. He tightened his grip on 0-08's hand, and amidst the disappearance of the skeletal messengers who had lost their support and were gradually returning to the underworld, he saw this guy who had disrupted his plans.
Something that should have been easy.
But of all people, these two just happened to appear!
He angrily reached out and slapped the blazing white spear away, then lightning flashed again, striking the area where Philip Howard was located.
Amidst the silvery-white lightning, a barrier formed of crimson flames gradually condensed around the latter. Even at the terrifying speed of lightning, it was only partially completed, but it was enough for him to react in an instant and leave his original position.
Without lingering, Ince roughly estimated the time in his mind, and his entire body gradually became transparent, preparing to leave the battlefield immediately, enter the void, and enter the spirit world to guard against Azik Eggers, who might arrive at any time.
"Who the hell let you leave, you son of a bitch!"
Tiny lightning snakes surged around Philip, the intense paralysis leaving him oblivious to everything else in his rage. The crimson in his eyes gradually replaced the sapphire blue, and the suppressed fury from his clenched teeth enveloped his body, causing jet-black hair to grow all over him.
With the outburst of desire, the power he gained allowed Philip to break free from the slithering lightning snakes around him. Using the greatest speed he could muster, he re-formed a blazing white spear in his hand and charged towards Ince Zangwell.
Ince narrowed his eyes slightly and gave a disdainful snort, but the fierce light in his eyes revealed a terrifying yet restrained killing intent.
Three seconds later.
Just as that blazing white flame was about to touch Ince Zangwell's increasingly ethereal body, the latter had already completely entered the spirit world, causing Philip to miss his target and fall forward due to the violent inertia.
Nourishes—
As the scraping sound rang out, Philip's knees slid several meters on the ground before finally coming to a stop. When the pain brought him back to reality, he dared not turn around to face the world.
The mental lapse caused by the outburst of reason, coupled with the blows he had previously experienced, caused Philip's body to tremble uncontrollably.
He lowered his body, burying his forehead in the ground, then clenched his fist and slammed it down hard!
boom!
Amidst the dull echo, imperceptible cracks appeared in the ground, from which crimson blood flowed, spreading outwards before quickly seeping completely downwards.
The gloomy clouds blocked out the sunlight, and autumn in Tingen was a bit chilly. The chill seeped into the body through the thin white shirt and along the still-bleeding wound on the red palm.
Philip touched the corner of his eye, but when he found that he showed no signs of crying, he stopped moving.
Ten seconds later.
"Oh"
A self-deprecating chuckle broke the silence.
He supported himself on his knees, slowly turned around, and walked forward with an unexpectedly calm expression to check on the condition of the three night watchmen.
He was injured and fell into a coma.
Philip shifted his gaze from Leonard, then walked over to Dunn Smith, looked at the man's charred body, and confirmed that he was not in immediate danger. A ripple of emotion finally stirred within him.
however,
Klein's breathing stopped.
Philip didn't know how long he had been watching.
Suddenly, the image of recognizing the other person from his hometown flashed through his mind. Although their interaction wasn't particularly deep, this person, who simply wanted to go home, had ended up staying here.
After a dozen or so seconds of slow, bewildered thought, Philip finally remembered why his hand had been hovering in mid-air.
He stroked the other's cheek, gently sliding it downwards, so that the brown eyes were hidden by the closed eyelids, no longer revealing a deathly stillness and lifelessness.
"I fucking came all this way for nothing."
A corner of Raphael Cemetery on September 9.
The crimson moonlight illuminated the stone slab, and in the indescribable chill and silence, the three lines of epitaph on the tombstone could be vaguely discerned:
"The best older brother;"
"My best younger brother;"
"The best colleague."
With his bronze skin, Azik and Philip, whose expression was still somewhat bewildered, stood quietly in front of the tombstone, holding white flowers. They remained silent for a long time, but still did not speak.
Only after Philip knelt down and placed the bouquet of white flowers in his hand did he ask in a barely audible but perfectly clear voice in the quiet night:
"Mr. Azik, are you saying that beyond this world—no, beyond this universe—there are other worlds or other universes?"
Azik turned his head, snapping out of his daze. Facing Philip's question, he frowned slightly, then shook his head and said, "I can't answer your question. In fact, it's unknown whether anyone in this world can answer it."
"I see." Philip stroked Klein's tombstone, nodded gently, and then waited quietly for Azik to put down the white flowers in his hand before trying to speak:
"What level of growth do I need to reach to help you kill Ince Zangwell?"
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
"Sequence five, that's the bare minimum."
After a brief silence, Azik answered the question, saying seriously, "But without reaching the level of a demigod, there is almost no chance of victory against Ince Zangwill."
Philip asked no more questions.
"I want to stay with him a little longer."
Upon hearing this, Azik lowered the brim of his black top hat, nodded, and said nothing more. He simply turned his back and added before leaving, "If you encounter any problems back in Backlund, you can contact me immediately."
Silence once again enveloped the cemetery.
Philip withdrew his hand from the tombstone, forced a smile, and rummaged through his pockets, eventually finding only a wallet.
clatter.
A gold coin was placed in front of the tombstone.
"rest assured."
Philip brushed away the topsoil, placed the gold pound in the center, then pressed his forehead against it and said softly, "I'll find a way to go back and take you back. There will always be a way."
He had never thought about returning to Earth before. His only goal was to find a way to evade the Rose School's pursuit, increase his power as much as possible, and live a peaceful life.
But now, since survival is already so difficult, adding a few more requirements is insignificant. Philip swept the soil back up, covering the gold coin he had given as a memento of the other person, and then murmured to himself:
"It's a pity, I don't even know your name, or where you live."
How will we bury you?
