Chapter 77 Four vs. Four

"Lord Steve, what should we do with him?"

Seeing that Emlyn remained silent, the man lost interest and turned to Steve, who didn't seem to be in very good condition, and asked him respectfully.

Steve's deathly pale face remained unchanged, even showing a hint of impatience. He merely turned his head slightly, glanced disdainfully at the vampire, and then coldly issued the order:

"Later, we will use him to complete the sacrifice."

Sacrifice? What sacrifice?!

Emlyn's dormant emotions surged once more, and even alone, he couldn't help but excitedly demand, "What do you mean? You want it? Ah—!"

Before Emlyn could finish speaking, two ice spikes grazed his cheeks and embedded themselves deeply in the wall beside him. A chilling aura rose up, causing the young, inexperienced vampire to scream in fright.

Emlyn looked tremblingly at the culprit, a bald man shrouded in a black robe standing furthest away from him. The man's sinister gaze was undisguised, his bloodthirsty and ferocious eyes undisguised.

"Zang" withdrew his hand and winked at the "werewolf" beside him. The latter then prepared to step forward, pick up the offering that was to be used, and enter the blood bank to carry out the ritual under Steve's guidance.

However, at this very moment...

boom--!

A gunshot shattered the silence of the long night.

The werewolf who was about to approach Emlyn suddenly had a bloody bullet hole in his brain, followed by excruciating pain and hysterical cursing.

Steve's gaze lingered briefly on the "werewolf" before quickly shifting away, his eyes narrowing before a cold smile crept across his face.

"Sharon, Maritch."

Ding Ding Deng!

Loud and rapid footsteps echoed through the corridor. Soon, a figure, moving at a speed comparable to a steam train, crashed into Zang, carrying both the zombie and himself to a spot a few dozen meters away.

Steve, who had transformed into a hazy, ethereal shadow, paused slightly when he saw that Marich's target wasn't him. Then, he revealed a somewhat resentful expression and said, "Fine, you guys made the right bet."

Sure enough, during the few seconds that "zang" was held back by Maric, an ancient door covered with mysterious patterns appeared in front of the two of them and gradually opened a crack.

From the gap, pairs of arms, some pale, some transparent, some covered in teeth, and some bloody and skinless, stretched across the void and reached out towards the two "living corpses".

Having already prepared, Marich followed the plan, withstood a few more of Zang's counterattacks, and then, enduring the excruciating pain and anger, jumped to the side, avoiding the large hands that were reaching for him.

As these large hands seized their target, the indescribable eyes in the gaps narrowed slightly, mocking, grinning, and trembling, preparing to drag the "living corpse" Zang into them without hesitation.

After struggling to no avail, Zang immediately tried to save himself. He reached into his pocket and broke through the spiritual barrier that he had set up beforehand. The next moment, crimson moonlight filled the entire area.

Sharon's figure gradually appeared beside Marich. She was touching the wall, as if the simple task of supporting her body, which was usually easy, was now out of reach.

Maric knelt on the ground, his teeth clenched, his eyes filled with madness, his condition equally worrying.

"Hahaha, hahahaha—!"

Seeing the two of them in such a wretched state under the "Crimson Moon Crown," Zange shouted mockingly, while simultaneously straining his body even more, trying to break free from the constraints of this gate.

"Zanger——!"

Steve's roar, tinged with anger, startled Zang. He looked at his leader not far away, puzzled as to why the other had suddenly become angry.

At that moment, two soft voices rang out:

"Embers!" x2

Click!

Amidst the sound of shattering metal, two golden embers tinged the crimson moonlight with their own color before vanishing silently without a trace.

The ferocity and madness in Marich's eyes faded, and he stood up as if nothing had happened. Sharon, who had been supporting herself against the wall, slowly withdrew her hand, seemingly regaining the strength to move slightly.

Oh no, they can handle a full moon!

Zang's eyes widened, and only now did he understand why Steve was so angry: the other party had come to him on his own, clearly having something to rely on, but after gaining the upper hand, he hadn't handed the "Crimson Corona" to his teammates in time!

There was no time for him to reflect or express his apology. This "zombie" even forgot to struggle, and with all his might, he threw the miniature crimson full moon in his hand toward his teammates.

Sharon's azure eyes remained calm, but her shifting gaze quickly caught sight of the "Crimson Moon Crown" flying rapidly through the air before she vanished from her spot.

"Ember." At the same time, Steve, the "Wraith," dressed in a tailcoat and draped in a dark red cloak, narrowed his eyes and muttered the word he had just heard before his body quickly disappeared.

boom!

The intense sound of fists colliding echoed in the middle of the corridor. Steve and Sharon's bodies came back to reality, and they both grabbed the crimson miniature full moon at the same time, while their other fists continued to clash.

The seemingly evenly matched situation was disrupted when Sharon's fingers gripping the "Crimson Crown" began to tremble, gradually shifting towards the other side.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

"Heh," Steve narrowed his eyes and smirked, "It seems that the spell wasn't as effective on you as you expected, Sharon."

After a very brief silence, Sharon said calmly:

"This was expected."

Steve's already serious expression turned serious again. He was about to immediately reclaim the "Crimson Crown" and re-observe the battlefield when his spiritual intuition made him notice the darkness gathering around him as if it were alive.

A jet-black chain immediately shot out from it.

A look of surprise flashed across Steve's eyes. His slightly loosened hand clenched again, and his expression became somewhat distorted with anger. In the end, he did not enter the "vengeful spirit" state to escape, but instead endured the restraint of these chains.

After confirming that the chains had no other effect, Steve immediately turned his head and looked through the two "werewolfs" who were rushing over, and finally spotted Philip, who had now freed himself from the vampire's restraints.

Philip then raised his hand and patted Emlyn White on the shoulder, praising him generously: "As expected of a Sequence 7 vampire, it seems you're still somewhat useful."

Emlyn gasped, hissing as the camera slapped his wound. He was about to retort, but the sight of the gun pointed at him forced a smile: "Sir, may I leave now?"
