Author's Note on the Launch of Chapter 49

It's been released, and it's not just you who find it abrupt; I find it abrupt too.

Let's get to the point first, and we'll chat later.

1. This book performed too poorly and failed to advance, not even making it to the second round, so it was released ahead of schedule.

2. Another point is that it's complete, so you can subscribe with confidence and don't need to worry about me abandoning it.

Don't say I'm just making empty promises. At least until the detailed outline is finished, this book will definitely not be abandoned. I hope all readers will continue to support it.

I'd be satisfied if I got 500 initial subscriptions. At least 500 subscriptions would qualify me for the full attendance bonus, and it would give me the motivation to keep writing.

3. To reiterate, this book has a main storyline and isn't entirely a romance novel. Who could read a purely slice-of-life romance? Plus, it's easy to get writer's block.

As for the fact that I treated everyone to a lot of vegetarian food during the free period... well, I can only say that everything will be available after it's officially released.

Anyone who knows me in the online literature community knows that my forte is writing content...

4. Starting last year, or rather the year before (it's now 2025), Qidian (the online literature platform) began to heavily support original works. Fanfiction is finding it increasingly difficult to survive. In recent months, there hasn't been a single truly new author on the new book charts; they're all reincarnations of old authors.

In the past, I would encourage newcomers to write fanfiction because it was simple and easy to learn. Now, it seems that fanfiction is inherently inferior.

I can't say whether this is a good thing or a bad thing; everyone's perspective is different, so the answers will vary. Authors have certainly gotten involved, and readers who prefer original content will likely welcome this.

But I'm someone who really enjoys reading fanfiction, and lately, I haven't seen many new fanfiction books at all. Of course, it could also be because I read a lot—I can read dozens of books at once—so the current number of new books on Qidian simply can't keep up with my reading load.

5. Too curly.

I don't know why, but I ended up hurting myself, causing a huge influx of authors to Qidian, which has disrupted the market's diversity. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. (After constantly checking the rankings, I feel like I've been abandoned by the market, and I don't quite understand what the selling points of new books are these days.)

On the positive side, there is more diversity, readers have more choices, and everyone is starting to rack their brains for creative ideas and gimmicks, trying every possible way to attract readers.

As for the bad side... hehe, what if your new idea fails to attract users?

cut!

What if a new gimmick doesn't appeal to readers?

cut!

It's visibly that the rate of abandoned new books on Qidian is getting higher and higher. This is because no one can figure out the market trend, so they can only try and fail, and if the trial fails, they just abandon the book.

This makes me feel quite uncomfortable, both as an author and a reader.

As an author, I can't think of any creative ideas that will definitely attract readers. As a reader, I often stop reading many books after a while, and when I try to contact the author through pseudonyms, the answer is usually "the results are too poor".

Well, that's enough rambling for now. I hope everyone will support the product when it goes on sale tomorrow.

Five hundred subscriptions! Five hundred subscriptions! Please!
