I am the son of the Dragon God in Douluo Continent.

After checking that all the candidates had arrived and boarded the ship smoothly, Master Xuan instructed the teachers on the ship to manage the students during this period and then quickly take them to the examination hall.

After that, Elder Xuan transformed into a streak of earthy yellow light and flew directly toward Seagod Island, clearly not wanting to waste any more time there.

After seeing Elder Xuan leave, the inner court teachers, who were already used to his style, could only obey his orders, even though theoretically Elder Xuan should be in charge of these lectures.

After all, he was the boss and everything was decided by him. The underlings just had to obediently carry out orders. They didn't dare to complain at all, because if Elder Xuan heard them, they might be punished.

With that in mind, the ship began to head towards Poseidon Island. Upon seeing this, the teachers of the inner academy on board began to call out the names of each examinee one by one. After confirming who the examinees were, they began to announce the precautions for the exam.

There are two exams in total: an individual exam and a team exam, mainly to test students' practical skills and teamwork abilities.

After all, the people in the inner courtyard belong to the Shrek Supervisory Group and are tasked with hunting down evil spirit masters on a regular basis.

If you don't have strong individual combat ability and teamwork skills when facing evil spirit masters, you will not only kill yourself but also your teammates.

Although the exam content was simple and straightforward, it was still a relatively reasonable exam.

After about half an hour, the ship finally arrived at its destination, the very center of Poseidon Lake, the location of Poseidon Pavilion, Poseidon Island.

A towering golden tree appeared before them, and those who had never seen such a sight before couldn't help but exclaim in amazement.

Xu Xingyu, who had already seen the Golden Tree, was not surprised. Instead, she began to recall information about the Golden Book.

This golden ancient tree is the child of nature in the Douluo Continent, the core of life in the Douluo Continent, and is used to store life power for the plane.

In some ways, it is similar to the Lake of Life in the Starry Sky Forest, except that the reserves of the Golden Ancient Tree far exceed those of the Lake of Life.

This golden tree didn't grow here ten thousand years ago. It was only because Tang San forcibly moved it here that it became the guardian of Shrek Academy.

Otherwise, under normal circumstances, as the representative of nature, it should have taken a neutral stance in any struggle between humans or spirit beasts.

When Tang San, without permission from the God Realm, handed over the life core divine position, which was originally an empty space in Douluo Continent, to his mother, Ah Yin, Ah Yin also planted her seed inside the body of this golden ancient tree.

The Golden Ancient Tree is basically just a power bank for Ah Yin to advance her cultivation. Xu Xingyu completely despises this kind of dimensional life power that should have been used in emergencies.

It is important to understand that this life force belongs to the plane itself. If the opponent's power is excessively depleted, the natural balance of this plane will be disrupted.

Because the Golden Tree has another ability: it acts as an energy regulator for the Douluo Continent, distributing the energy of the Douluo Continent to different parts of the continent as rationally as possible.

This is the only way to prevent the plane from collapsing naturally and to ensure its long-term existence.

However, considering that Tang San's original plan was to have his mother completely devour the Golden Ancient Tree so that she could advance to the peak of the second-level god level, he could not change this.

Such a person as Ah Yin can completely replace the Golden Ancient Tree in regulating the energy of the plane, and at the same time, can also vigorously promote the faith belonging to Tang San.

It can only be said that the Tang family's backyard plan truly lived up to its name, but unfortunately, the plan has completely fallen through.

After all, when Tang Hao defeated Tang San's clone in the far north a few years ago, Tang Hao, as the master of the plane, and Ah Yin, the core of life, were also discovered by the God Realm.

When the Goddess of Life appeared last time and discussed compensation with Xu Xingyu, she assured him that she would punish the two people who violated the rules of the divine realm.

It is important to know that the rulers and life cores of each plane are carefully selected by the divine realm and the star lords of the corresponding plane, and cannot be appointed arbitrarily.

Tang San's decision to disregard the God Realm Committee and privately transform his parents into plane masters and life cores clearly violated the rules, which is probably why the Goddess of Life agreed to Xu Xingyu's conditions.

Tang San's actions showed a complete disregard for the God Realm Committee, and even the Goddess of Life, a God-King known for her compassion, couldn't stand it.

So now I shouldn't have to worry about being ambushed by Gintoki hiding inside the Golden Tree, right?

Just then, the voice of Elder Xuan, who had been waiting, interrupted Xu Xingyu's thoughts. Elder Xuan said, "Alright, you're not here for sightseeing. Let's hurry up and prepare for the upcoming exam."

After Xuan Lao finished speaking, several more people appeared behind him. Looking at the red school uniforms they were wearing, everyone present realized that these must be the legendary senior students of the inner academy.

Xu Xingyu spotted a familiar figure among these people—it was Ma Xiaotao!

The Ma Xiaotao of this moment was different from the eager and enthusiastic person Xu Xingyu had met before. Now she had a solemn expression and gave people a mature and reliable feeling for some reason.

Looking at Ma Xiaotao, Xu Xingyu unconsciously began to scrutinize her. She wondered if Ma Xiaotao's school uniform was a little small, as it seemed quite tight.

Although this maximizes the display of Ma Xiaotao's strengths, there's always a feeling that things will inevitably fall apart sooner or later.

Before Xu Xingyu could think any further, Jiang Nannan had already pinched his waist with a kind expression. Feeling the pain, Xu Xingyu could only whisper to comfort her, saying that she would definitely not be inferior to Ma Xiaotao in the future.

It was at this moment that Ma Xiaotao noticed Xu Xingyu hiding among the crowd, and, feeling playful, deliberately gave him a flirtatious wink.

This made Jiang Nannan, who was standing to the side, increasingly dissatisfied, but fortunately she also knew that this was a formal occasion and she didn't want to embarrass her man.

So we can only leave it at that for now and find a time later to ask him properly when he attacked her best friend.

Sigh, having a man who's too outstanding is a troublesome thing!

Jiang Nannan can now understand a little why Wang Dong'er had those feelings and actions.

At this moment, Elder Xuan's voice rang out again: "As you can see, these are all outstanding disciples trained by our inner academy. All you need to do is choose one of them as your opponent."

Upon hearing this, many candidates became increasingly uneasy, knowing that disciples from the outer academy and the inner academy were on completely different levels!

If they already possessed the strength to defeat the inner court disciples, would they still need to enter the inner court to study?

Fortunately, Elder Xuan added, "We don't require you to defeat your opponent, but you must give it your all in this battle. Our scoring criteria are based on your performance in this match."

"Each match has a five-minute time limit, with a maximum score of ten points and a passing score of six. If you can force yourself to last five minutes, you will get six points. And if you perform well enough in those five minutes, it is possible to get seven to nine points."

"As for a perfect score, no one has ever achieved one since Shrek Academy opened. To get a perfect score, you must defeat your opponent within five minutes."

"By the way, if you're a support major, please let me know in advance. You'll be asked to choose a teammate from among these senior students and support them. Your performance as a support will then be evaluated."

After listening to Elder Xuan, everyone present began to understand the rules and carefully examined the senior students, looking for the most suitable opponents to fight against their team.
