Chapter 19 A Fusion of Hero and Demon

Ten minutes later, the police and a beautiful middle-aged woman arrived.

After learning the truth, the middle-aged woman burst into tears, screaming, "Oh my god! How could you do such a thing? I'll kill you!"

The woman, in a fit of rage, grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed her husband.

Blonde policewoman Catherine hugged her tightly: "Don't do this, madam. I understand how you feel, but this is police work right now."

"My God! How could I have married this beast?" the woman cried.

Catherine glanced at Ian, who was not far away.

He was still taking pictures of this scene.

This infuriated Catherine: "What else can you do besides filming?"

"There will be many, such as rushing to save an innocent girl before the police," Ian replied without changing his expression.

Catherine: "..."

Kate Beckinsale: "..."

So Ian looked at the middle-aged woman, pointed his camera at her, and said, "Mrs. Blazer, I hope you will grant me this interview."

Mrs. Blazer stared at him in astonishment: "What did you say?"

Ian calmly replied, "Logically speaking, I saved your daughter from further harm, so you owe me something. From a purely financial standpoint, I can offer you a fee for the interview. Putting those two points aside, to be frank, I can refrain from revealing your daughter's identity and photo to prevent further harm to her. But if you refuse to cooperate… my conscience has its limits. I did a good deed, and I deserve a reward! If you won't give it to me, I'll take it myself!"

Kate Beckinsale felt a chill run down her spine.

Is that even human language you're talking about?

Catherine stormed over angrily: "Don't even think about exposing anything."

"Too late." Ian let her take the camera, and sneered, "I sent the information to the newspaper first, and then I called you. For the sake of the children, you all had better cooperate with me!"

Mrs. Blazer looked at him in astonishment: "I thought you were the hero who saved my daughter?"

Ian replied, "That's not contradictory, madam! The world isn't simply black and white! I can be a hero, or I can be a devil, but more often than not, I'm a hybrid!"

Catherine stared at him in astonishment.

She turned to Kate Beckinsale: "Is he telling the truth?"

Kate nodded: "The first thing he did before calling the police was to send out all the footage he had taken... He also said that if you came, you would definitely grab his camera and stop him. Officer Brown, he predicted all your reactions... He likes to make predictions, and most of the time he's right."

Catherine was speechless.

After a long pause, she said, "And then you just watched him do that?"

Kate smiled slightly: "I'm an actress, and I have to follow the director's instructions."

There was a strange feeling in my heart, as if Ian had led me astray, and my thoughts were going astray... I was unknowingly becoming like Ian.

………………

Inside the room, Mrs. Blazer was still crying, while Ian sat opposite her, constantly asking her various questions.

"So you and your husband haven't known each other for more than three months?"

Are you sure he hasn't behaved similarly before?

Are you sure you don't know?

"Have you noticed the way he looks at your daughter during your daily interactions with him?"

"Is your sex life harmonious?"

Have you noticed any unusual behavior from him when he interacts with your daughter in private?

Ian bombarded her with questions, and Mrs. Blazer answered them haltingly and sadly.

"Enough!" Catherine, unable to bear it any longer, shouted angrily, "Ian Carl, what exactly do you want to do? She's already in so much pain, you shouldn't hurt her anymore! Look at the kind of questions you're asking!"

Ian glanced at Catherine and sneered, "The public likes this! So I'm not the shameless one, I'm just catering to the public!"

Catherine: ? ? ?

So the world is the one that's wrong?

Ian turned to Mrs. Blazer and said, "The interview just now cost ten thousand dollars."

"What?" Mrs. Blazer looked at him in astonishment.

Ian said seriously, "Ten thousand dollars! I can offer more if you're willing to continue the interview. Mr. Blazer is definitely going to jail, and you said you weren't working, which means you'll have problems with your future. You need money. So, I can end the interview now. Do you need me to end it?"

Mrs. Blazer stared blankly at Ian. After thinking for a moment, she finally shook her head: "No, you're right, I need money."

Ian smiled and looked at Catherine again.

Catherine turned her head away helplessly.

The latest novel is first published here!

Am I being nosy?

"Then let's continue," Ian said softly. "What are his habits when he's with you? I mean, what positions does he like?"

Mrs. Blazer blushed slightly, but still answered the questions earnestly.

An hour later, the interview finally came to an end.

Ian quickly wrote down a check for $20,000 and handed it to Mrs. Blazer: "Remember, don't accept interviews from other people. Not every reporter has the same principles as me and can keep your daughter out of the public eye."

Mrs. Blazer nodded repeatedly.

Catherine sneered, "I didn't know you still had any principles."

Ian smiled slightly.

He packed up his equipment, came to Catherine's side, and said, "You're still young, Your Excellency a righteous policewoman. I believe we'll have many more opportunities to interact in the future. I'll show you a wider world then, and you'll know that I'm actually a good person."

He packed up all his things and went out.

As they reached the doorway, Ian suddenly turned back and said, "By the way, as the rescuer of an innocent girl, shouldn't I receive a commendation from the Los Angeles Police Department?"

Catherine took a deep breath, suppressing her anger: "Yes, you will get it."

Ian smiled, then turned and left with Kate.

Following behind him, Kate whispered, "Ian Carr, I'm starting to understand who you are."

Ian looked at her.

Kate smiled: "A madman who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals."

Although it was clearly a belittling remark, the tone was gentle.

Ian said, "What if I told you that you were also one of my targets?"

You're really straightforward.

Even though Europeans and Americans are generally very direct in this regard, Kate still seemed speechless.

She gently shook her head: "No! I won't like you."

Ian smiled.

He said softly, "Women are always saying one thing and meaning another."
