Chapter 25 Sinking

Chapter 25 Sinking

In the hotel room, a young couple was passionately engaged in their lovemaking.

Amidst long, pleasurable moans, Kate Beckinsale gripped the sheets tightly, her beautiful face displaying immense pleasure.

Ian lay on top of her, breathing softly.

The greatest legacy from the spoiled rich kid turns out to be his extensive bedroom skills!

He gently licked away the glistening sweat from Kate's face and chuckled softly, "Would you like something to drink?"

Kate is a stunner, and she makes him feel amazing.

Kate continued to sigh, her long, beautiful legs stretched straight, fully displaying her beauty.

She murmured, "A glass of wine, please. I need to rehydrate."

It's definitely necessary; everyone would have thought that this person was also made of water.

She was so excited that she almost became dehydrated.

Ian smiled, got up, went to the wine cabinet, poured Kate a glass of red wine, and handed it to the bedside table.

Kate finished her drink in one gulp, gave Ian a light kiss, and rested her hand on her neck, revealing her beautiful figure: "So you have a gentle side too."

Ian smiled: "I've always been gentle, but as people from the bottom, sometimes we have to work hard and act tough."

He murmured, his eyes unfocused: "Like a little dog facing a behemoth, it can only bark desperately to gain courage. Truly great people disdain doing that."

His voice carried a faint sadness as he spoke, making it exceptionally captivating.

Kate then sat up.

She revealed her beautiful figure, her lovely eyes wide open, and looked at him in surprise: "You still think of yourself as someone from the bottom class? You've made a series of major news stories these past few days; that alone could get you onto the list of America's top reporters."

Ian scoffed, "A famous journalist and a famous prostitute are no different; it proves nothing. My future is that of a business tycoon, a global entrepreneur, not just a reporter!"

In his past life, Ian was a famous journalist, but so what?

Having seen so many celebrities, all I felt was the huge gap between them and reality.

The beautiful female host around him was even more despicable than him. Just because she had seen so many, she insisted on marrying into a wealthy family, but in the end, she was nothing more than a mistress.

This industry offers many opportunities to interact with important figures, but few are truly able to seize these opportunities and achieve success. However, everyone gains an insatiable appetite as a result!

Li Yi Ian Carl was no exception, and even more so... I've already transmigrated and have cheat codes, how can I be so easily satisfied? Wouldn't that make me a useless piece of trash?

Heaven doesn't favor the useless!

"You certainly have big ambitions." Kate put down her glass. "I'm going to take a shower and deal with the gift you gave me... I guess you wouldn't want me pregnant."

As she spoke, she got up and walked towards the bathroom, revealing her graceful figure.

Ian smiled as he watched her figure disappear into the bathroom.

He got up, wrapped himself in a towel, and sat down at the computer to start processing the video data.

Half an hour later, Kate came out of the bathroom.

She wore a thin, sheer veil, glanced at Ian who was still busy working, and gently shook her head: "You're such a workaholic, couldn't you have waited until tomorrow?"

Ian didn't even turn his head: "No, news is always better as soon as possible; it has to be out first thing in the morning. Outdated news isn't worth more than expired bread... I've already wasted over an hour because of you!"

"It sounds like I'm the one who held you back," Kate said, sounding annoyed.

However, one advantage of Western women is that they are not as pretentious as Chinese women.

She snorted coldly: "And besides, you didn't have an hour."

Ian nodded: "I need to work out... I'll try!"

The predecessor had skill but lacked stamina, and its effects were delayed but not long-lasting.

But it's okay, it will improve.

Kate gave him a deep look, then walked to the hotel's large floor-to-ceiling window and stood there.

The sheer fabric subtly revealed her beautiful, shapely figure.

She looked at the scenery in the distance through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

In the distance lies Beverly Hills, home to Los Angeles' most famous stars, where all sorts of scandalous affairs take place every night, but only a very few people are able to obtain evidence.

The information Ian had could provide a journalist with enough to last a lifetime, but for him, it seemed to be just an everyday occurrence.

This is what Kate noticed from Ian's demeanor: he wasn't particularly excited, but rather calm, composed, and possessed a strong confidence in the future.

After all, in his eyes, he still considers himself to be from the bottom class.

Ian finally finished his work.

He got up and went to Kate's side, hugging her beautiful and soft body, and smiled, "You know, sometimes work is also a kind of rest... Once this job is finished, you can start another one."

Kate looked at him with a cold smile: "I have no intention of taking another shower."

Despite saying that, she still returned to bed in Ian's gentle embrace.

They kissed passionately.

Just as Kate was about to do something further, Ian stopped her.

He said, "I need to make a phone call; I think you'd be interested to hear it."

Kate stopped what she was doing and just looked at him with a resentful expression.

The man in front of me is a madman; even in this kind of situation, he doesn't forget about his business.

She knew who Ian was going to call.

Sure enough, after Ian picked up the phone and dialed, he said:

The latest novel is first published here!

"Director Hannet, it's me, Ian Karl. I'm sorry to bother you so late again, but it's not really that late. I know you're still awake... Hehe, don't be surprised. After all, I know where you went tonight, and I know you're home now. I hope your wife isn't with you... I've sent something to your email. Take a look."

After hanging up the phone, he called Ron Lloyd and others to handle some work before finally embracing Kate again.

Savor the fragrance.

Kate closed her eyes, savoring the moment, her nostrils flaring as she murmured tenderly, "You're planning to blackmail Icabod Harnett? You just had dinner with him three days ago."

Ian mumbled, "So what? My news articles, all added up, didn't even reach a million, while CBS earned at least five million, not even counting subsequent profits. That's the power of the distribution channels. As the content producer, I can't even get a fifth of the profits. At the banquet three days ago, he didn't say a single good word for me... The nicest thing he said was, 'Hey, Ian, you're a great guy.' What a load of bull! Meeting someone doesn't prove anything, not even sleeping with them proves anything."

Fake!

Even though Ian was telling the truth, it sounded so jarring precisely because it was true.

Kate pinched Ian lightly: "As your photographer, I didn't get a single penny."

Ian gently kissed her fair face, playing with her two beautiful lips: "Don't mind, baby, I just gave you over a billion dollars."

Kate chuckled softly, wrapped her arms around Ian's neck, and gave him a passionate kiss.

She looked at Ian with adoration: "God! You're such a villain. Just a few hours ago I hated you, but now I'm starting to like you."

Her eyes revealed her feelings.

She was truly infatuated with Ian.

His madness, his crimes, his cruelty all possessed a captivating allure.

Ian gently comforted the girl: "You need to learn to control your emotions, baby."

Kate's mood sank.

Of course she understood what he meant.

That damn, heartless bastard!

The problem is that you know he just wants to play with you, but you don't have the confidence to refuse... like a loyal lapdog, you feel happy even if you are played by the other person.

This left Kate feeling helpless, as if she herself had fallen for him.

It's like being on drugs.

You enjoy the pleasure it brings, but you also feel pain when you don't have it. You can't extricate yourself from it and eventually succumb to its effects!

Ian's gaze fell on the calendar.

It's almost November.

On November 1, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution to admit Yugoslavia as a member state of the United Nations.

On November 2, the International Space Station welcomed its first group of long-term residents.

The US election will end on November 7th.

Unfortunately, all of this is of no use to me for the time being. At best, it's a prediction that George W. Bush will become president, but it's not very meaningful. It's a 50% chance of one of two options, so it's not a great prediction.

But in the not-too-distant future, countless major international events will become bargaining chips on its scales!

I, Ian Karl, am not only a news producer, but also a participant, witness, and even... a manipulator of future major events!

With boundless pride surging in his heart, he seemed to care nothing for the beauty in his arms.
