American Gossip King

Chapter 320 Unparalleled Sophistry

Chapter 320 Unparalleled Sophistry

At noon, Ian went to the White House to meet with George W. Bush.

Accompanying him were various White House officials and Joneshorn of the Dublin Group.

They were in the restaurant behind the White House.

American food is mediocre, even the president's meals aren't anything special.

Sitting in the main seat, George W. Bush rubbed his temples, looking pained, then forced a smile: "Are you alright?"

"Not bad. I have a former special forces subordinate who knows battlefield medics. Apart from the stitches being a bit ugly, there are no other problems," Ian replied with a smile.

Although the US president is a big shot, Ian has nothing to fear now.

They exchanged a few casual words in a relaxed tone, which served as a way to build rapport.

At this point, George W. Bush said, "This situation has put us in a very passive position."

Ian nodded: "It was indeed a passive situation. You shouldn't have brought Saddam from Iraq."

On the surface, he was saying that Saddam shouldn't have been brought here, but in reality, he was saying that Saddam shouldn't have come looking for trouble with him because of Saddam's money.

That's why Ian's tone was concise and sharp.

This surprised even George W. Bush.

That's not what George Tenet told me!

He meant that Ian Carl was willing to help me resolve this reputation crisis.

But he quickly realized that this was the price he was asking for!

Americans are masters of this; they always pull strings before negotiations begin, just to increase their negotiating leverage.

The same goes for Ian.

George W. Bush was not angry.

The most important quality for someone who can become president is not intelligence, or even a broad perspective, but emotional stability!

Regardless of your inner thoughts, you must remain outwardly unmoved.

He smiled at Ian: "That's not what I meant. You know I can't worry about these things. I have too many other issues to deal with."

Ian asked directly, "Whose idea is that?"

George W. Bush was momentarily speechless.

After thinking for a moment, he said, "It's Ram. Ram Emmanuel!"

It's him?

Ian understood.

Ram Immanuel is Jewish, a veteran politician, and was recently elected as a Democratic representative from Illinois.

He later became Obama's chief of staff and served as a link between Obama and the Jewish community, demonstrating the importance of his position.

To be precise, this person's political power comes from his Jewish identity, and therefore he must serve the Jewish community, but he still holds a decent position within the Democratic Party.

Because Ram Immanuel is a Democrat, George W. Bush has no reason to cover for him.

He might even be happy to use Ian to strike at the Democrats.

Of course, Ian wouldn't do that so easily.

The most important thing Ian learned from Gasker was: to attack for profit, not for revenge!

Ram Immanuel is a Democrat and a Jew; don't take action against him lightly without any benefit in it.

So Ian smiled and said, "Thank you for your guidance, Mr. President. Let's talk about the current situation. This Saddam Hussein prison break has put the United States in a very passive position, and there should be a lot of trouble on the international stage?"

George W. Bush nodded: "Yes, but international issues are none of your concern. The important thing is domestically; we must calm public opinion."

Well, just say you're sure you can get re-elected.

Ian found talking to politicians a real headache. Americans are generally quite direct, but they can still be tactful when necessary.

Ian then said, "Whether something is good or bad depends on how you interpret it. Saddam could be a prison break, but he could also be used to lure in hidden terrorists."

"Huh?" Everyone stared at him in astonishment.

Ian smiled. "We've found at least two terrorists, haven't we? They attacked at the William Morrison Hotel. What does that say?"

One of George W. Bush's assistants blurted out, "That means they want to kill you!"

George W. Bush: "..."

Ian smiled. "No, it means they originally wanted to blow up the William Morrison Hotel. But Saddam's presence caused the plan to fail. It was all a collaboration between the Secret Service and the FBI. The Secret Service was willing to sacrifice its reputation to save the country, and Saddam being rescued by terrorists further proves that Iraq is a terrorist organization, and that America's actions against the country are perfectly justified, aren't they?"

Bush Jr.'s eyes lit up.

Is that another way to explain it?

So Saddam was used as bait to lure out terrorists?

Someone asked, "Mr. Carl, can this really convince the public?"

Ian waved confidently: "Absolutely no problem. Of course, to make things more targeted, we can arrest a few more people. I believe the CIA and FBI couldn't have been without suspects all these years; we can just find a few and say we found them through Saddam's movements. Carl Media will give this matter full publicity—all for world peace!"

The group looked at each other and nodded in agreement.

What a great excuse!

The key point is that this doesn't conflict with everything that happened before; what has changed is the motivation... It's not that we are incompetent, but that we are patient and have a broad perspective!

An assistant said, "But that wasn't the case before."

The latest novel is first published here!

Ian replied without hesitation, "The media often makes wild guesses without knowing the facts in order to get sensational scoops, which is very bad. But it's okay, the truth is the truth, and facts are facts. We must have the courage to admit our mistakes!"

As Ian Carr spoke, George W. Bush beamed with joy, and the Secret Service Director, George Tenet, standing nearby, was also delighted.

Now I don't have to take the blame anymore, and I don't even need to go to the hearing.

After all, we are acting for global peace!

Thinking about it this way, he himself began to believe it.

George W. Bush nodded repeatedly with satisfaction: "You're an excellent young man, Ian Carr. Have you ever thought about going into politics?"

Ian smiled and shook his head: "No, I won't go into politics, but I have some political friends, and perhaps you would be willing to lend them a hand."

George W. Bush nodded with a grin: "No problem. I think you'll need another Presidential Medal of Freedom as a reward for your performance in Iraq."

Ian raised an eyebrow.

Then I'll have two Presidential Medals of Freedom, which is not bad.

………………

After dinner, Ian left.

Joneshorn walked alongside him, and the two talked as they walked.

Joneshorn said, "I think you should consider joining the Republican Party; sitting on the fence is not a good option."

As Ian strolled through the White House garden, gazing at the surrounding scenery, he casually remarked, "For most people, sitting on the fence isn't a good option, just like gambling isn't a smart business practice. But there are always exceptions... Jones, I'm Ian Carl, and what I need is bilateral support, not unilateral. When I'm weak, sitting on the fence will make them hostile towards me; when I'm strong enough, I'll become the object of bilateral courtship."

Joneshorn raised an eyebrow: "That makes sense, but judging from your tone, you don't think you're powerful enough?"

"Not even close," Ian replied casually.

He turned to look at the White House office.

Several agents are searching the office.

By reading their lips, Ian could roughly tell what they were saying:

"Check all rooms immediately to see if there are any hidden cameras."

"I don't quite understand, boss, Ian Carl didn't go into the office."

"Shut up. Haven't you learned your lesson from Spielberg's experience? That guy is strange. Even if he didn't come, he could have been monitored in other ways."

Thank goodness I didn't send him in right away. So, I guess I've become everyone's nightmare now?

Unfortunately, it's no use. What I want to know, I will definitely find out!

Ian stopped and looked around, saying, "I'd like to wander around the area a bit more. It's a rare opportunity to visit the White House, so I want to enjoy it properly."

The White House staff member next to him shrugged: "No problem, Mr. Carl."
