Crossover: Is this how it's sewn?

Chapter 19.017. The Engagement

Xu Zhenqing snorted coldly: "Since that's the case, then I'll show you."

After speaking, Xu Zhenqing unleashed a powerful aura, causing the surrounding air to tremble.

He slammed his mental energy into the ground, creating a huge crater in the lawn, with rubble flying everywhere.

A hint of surprise flashed in Renata's eyes; she could sense the powerful energy contained within Xu Zhenqing's body.

This power far surpasses any enhancement potion that Renata has ever seen.

But that wasn't enough to surprise him; he was none other than Lu Mingze, the little devil and puppeteer behind Renata, this marionette.

Marcus watched from the side, a hint of smugness flashing in his eyes.

The T-virus enhancement fluid is the result of his huge investment in research and development, and now it has finally been verified.

His mental power surged forth, kneading every inch of Renata's skin, gradually seeping into her flesh, internal organs, and even bones.

No matter how many spells you use, I will break them with my own strength.

Xu Zhenqing turned around and looked at Renata: "Now, do you believe me?"

Renata was silent for a moment, then slowly nodded: "I believe it. This kind of power is indeed worth my investment."

Xu Zhenqing smiled slightly: "Very good, then we have a basis for cooperation."

The three returned to the study and began discussing their next plan.

Finally, Renata invested two billion US dollars in Umbrella and promised to invest one hundred million US dollars annually in research on T-series virus enhancement fluid.

Renata didn't linger. She left with the words that a specialist would come to discuss the specific treatment plan, and then boarded a plane and left the United States.

Xu Zhenqing thought of the puppeteer little devil standing behind Renata. He was indeed not easy to deal with. In his previous life, the Dragon Clan had not yet made his identity clear. It was best not to make contact with him for the time being.

Although he was destined to be immortal because of the "horror" meme, Xu Zhenqing was still unwilling to suffer for no reason.

He's just a mere Black King. If he angers Xu Zhenqing, he'll be sent straight to the depths of the universe. Without elemental power, what can he do?

"Unfortunately, the mental power did not reach the soul realm and failed to form a special characteristic, otherwise it could have improved the defect that the soul body could not touch the physical body."

After trying it out of his body, Xu Zhenqing couldn't sense any spiritual power at all, and couldn't help but feel regret.

"Also, when I was inside the body of the Holy Lord sculpture, the concealment of the meme was not removed, so I was unable to obtain the power of the black energy. However, I did learn the location of the Book of Time. Even if I never use it, I cannot do without it when I need it."

After reviewing his actions over the past few days, Xu Zhenqing returned to his physical body and recorded his recent gains and insights in a soul notebook.

"Clang clang clang!"

"Please come in. It's Alicia. What can I do for you?"

When Xu Zhenqing saw that the visitor was Alicia, he appropriately showed a puzzled expression.

"Father said there's something important he wants to talk to you about while you're here today."

"Uncle Marcus? Okay, let's go together then."

Xu Zhenqing got up to greet her, and Alicia grabbed Xu Zhenqing's hand. Xu Zhenqing was stunned for a moment, but did not resist.

And so the two of them arrived in front of Marcus, who smiled and praised Xu Zhenqing from head to toe, leaving everyone stunned.

Xu Zhenqing quickly began praising Marcus, exchanging witty remarks with him, and it eventually turned into a mutual compliment in business.

"While most of what you said is true, there's one more thing I have to say, concerning you, but I'm not sure if I should."

"If you have any concerns, you don't need to. I've always felt like you're family to me."

Xu Zhenqing lowered his eyes slightly, sincerely echoing Marcus's sentiments.

"I want to entrust Alicia to you. She is my only descendant. From now on, you will be a family, and everything in the Marcus family, including 50% of Umbrella's shares, will be yours."

"what?"

Xu Zhenqing was completely bewildered. "Are you deliberately setting a trap for me, contrary to the straightforward manner of Westerners? Your map of Yan is really too long."

Xu Zhenqing said to Marcus with a serious expression, "I think we should consider Alicia's thoughts more. Marriage is a matter between two people."

Uncle Marcus, you shouldn't ignore Alicia, your daughter, behind me.

"So, you don't object, right?"

"Alicia, what do you think of Zhenqing?"

Marcus, holding Xu Zhenqing's hand, asked Alicia.

"I don't dislike Brother Zhenqing."

Xu Zhenqing was a little stunned by this direct attack. Looking at the unashamed Alicia, he suddenly realized that his methods from China were not quite suitable for America.

The latest novel is first published here!

"But Alicia isn't even an adult yet, isn't it too early to talk about marriage now?"

"You may not know this, but most states in the United States require women to be 18 years of age to marry. However, some states allow 16- or 14-year-old girls to marry under certain conditions."

Xu Zhenqing was sweating profusely. The worst part was that this wasn't ancient times, and it wasn't like middle school students getting married and having children. What about the feminism of the United States?

"However, there are certain conditions for marriage in China. According to the relevant provisions of the Civil Code of the People's Republic of China, the legal marriage age for men shall not be earlier than 22 years old and for women shall not be earlier than 20 years old."

"It's the same for transnational marriages."

Xu Zhenqing took out his phone and showed it to Marcus, saying that he didn't want to lose his Chinese citizenship, since the country was still helping with S.H.I.E.L.D.

"We can arrange a marriage between you two first."

"If Alicia has no problem, I have no reason to refuse."

Xu Zhenqing thought about it and realized that this would not harm him. In both China and the United States, marriage contracts have no legal effect, and either party can unilaterally declare the contract terminated.

Marcus's expression softened further as he placed Xu Zhenqing's hand in Alicia's, repeatedly instructing and recounting the story of his encounter with Alicia's mother.

However, the subsequent process was completely unexpected by Xu Zhenqing, and Marcus established a foundation specifically for this purpose.

They say it will make it easier to transfer assets later, and the estate tax in the United States is indeed very high.

Xu Zhenqing truly adapted to the situation in this "Old Xu, do you want a wife?" situation.

Xu Zhenqing thought that this farce should end two years later when both of them had matured a bit.

Later, Xu Zhenqing did come into contact with some very deep secrets, some of which he should not have known but knew, and some of which he should not have known but did not know, or knew.

Marcus used his influence to put pressure on S.H.I.E.L.D.

Nick Fury, who already disapproved of the various factions within S.H.I.E.L.D. taking advantage of the situation, was forced to announce the dismissal of the agents who had caused the trouble.

The agent who interrogated Xu Zhenqing at the time was already overwhelmed by internal and external pressures and was just one push away from committing suicide.

The plan has moved forward another step. Only by being legitimate can one speak with authority. Political death is a terrible thing. A qualified politician will never fake his death unless absolutely necessary, because if he fakes his death, people will take it as if he really died.
