Super Mechanic: God of Superpowers!

Chapter 42 The Third Superpower (Part 1) (Bonus chapter for reader 鳏辔銮鳌)

Less than 30 seconds after Ye Xiu and Li Yalin's match ended, Lin Yao suddenly spoke up, "We've been given a new mission: to capture the Black Spider hiding in Xidu."

Ye Xiu raised an eyebrow and couldn't help but glance at the monitor on the ceiling.

They'd barely exchanged a few words, hadn't even recognized each other, and yet they were already being given tasks. They really were treating secret agents like Palu.

Ye Xiu was naturally aware of the target, the Black Spider, and had long coveted its special abilities.

Once you replicate the other person's superpowers, although you won't be immortal like a player, your safety will be greatly improved.

Thinking of this, Ye Xiu felt a surge of motivation, while secretly pondering and recalling relevant information about the Black Spider.

Black Spider is a superhuman, as well as a notorious bounty hunter and lone mercenary, with a certain reputation on Aquamarine.

The 13th Injunction probably targeted him as a test, to see if he was truly willing to put in the effort for the 13th Injunction.

Lambert sheathed his dagger, glanced at Lin Yao, and said calmly, "When are we leaving?"

"In about 30 minutes, the intelligence department will have pinpointed the location," Lin Yao said, glancing at Ye Xiu. "The captain is injured and hospitalized, so the team will need you to draw fire and provide damage."

Huh? Doesn't this mean I have to be both a tank and a damage dealer?

Ye Xiu thought for a moment, then nodded in agreement, "Okay, no problem."

In team mode, experience points are distributed according to contribution.

Simply put, the higher your contribution value, the more experience points you will receive.

Seeing that Ye Xiu agreed so easily, Li Yalin and the other two suddenly found Ye Xiu much more pleasing to the eye, and it seemed as if "+1" or "+1" of goodwill kept popping up above their heads.

They didn't care about Ye Xiu's identity; the fact that he could join the secret operations department meant that the higher-ups trusted him to a certain extent.

At this moment, a panel notification appeared in front of Ye Xiu's eyes:

[You have triggered a D-rank mission: [Capture the Black Spider], accept? Abandon?]

"accept!"

[Mission Hint: Black Spider, a notorious bounty hunter on Aquamarine, once attempted to assassinate a high-ranking Star Dragon, nearly destroying his manhood. The Star Dragon leadership, having reached their limit, has decided to capture Black Spider. This is your first mission since joining the Secret Operations Department, and many are watching your performance. Of course, the choice of what to do is entirely yours.]

[Mission Requirement: Capture the Black Spider]

[Reward: 50000 experience points]

[Special Reward: 70000 Experience Points or Mental Stabilizer]

"A hidden mission? Could it be to kill the Black Spider?" Ye Xiu's eyes flickered slightly as he thought to himself.

In any case, he was determined to kill Black Spider because of his superpowers; even Jesus couldn't stop him.

The reason for this is mainly because Ye Xiu discovered that his Superpower: Replication had undergone some changes after he advanced.

In short, there are three ways to replicate a target's ability.

The first method is to start replicating when the target's health is below 5%.

In this mode, if the target's energy level or potential level is very low, their own genetic chain is prone to collapse and they will die. For example, Wang Dahu, the leader of the tiger settlement, died because of this.

The second method is to kill the opponent directly, but strictly speaking, this method is considered to take over.

For this operation, Ye Xiu planned to take the second approach. The main reason for this was that he was currently being secretly monitored by Li Yalin and others, as well as the Thirteenth Bureau.

The last type is where the target has no intention of resisting.

Moreover, in the last method, Ye Xiu not only replicates the ability quickly and with less damage to the gene chain, but the replicated ability is also very likely to undergo some changes.

At the same time, the opponent's own superpowers will not be damaged in any way.

However, the last method has certain prerequisites, namely, the target's own superpower potential level must be very high or their own energy level must reach C level or above, otherwise the first type of replication will occur.

The group left the meeting room to collect and organize their equipment.

Ye Xiu was also assigned a gray combat uniform, bulletproof vest, pistol, tactical knife and other weapons and equipment.

"Let's go!" Li Yalin waved and shouted.

……

According to the intelligence department of Bureau 13, Black Spider is hiding in the slums.

Therefore, Ye Xiu and his two companions, fully armed, headed directly to the slums, while Lin Yao remained at headquarters to provide command and technical support.

The slum is located in the Eighth District. Compared to the prosperity of other parts of the city, it is much more dilapidated, and the air is filled with a pungent, fishy stench.

Most of the houses were built with scrap iron sheets and canvas, barely enough to keep out the wind and rain.

Ye Xiu and his two companions walked silently through the sewage-filled streets, with rats scurrying around them from time to time.

Apart from the three of them, there was no one else on the street, which looked rather eerie.

"Um?"

The latest novel is first published here!

Just then, Ye Xiu suddenly sensed something and quickly shouted, "Quickly, take cover!"

"What?" Li Yalin asked subconsciously. Before she could react, she saw Ye Xiu pull her arm and disappear into the alley around the corner.

At the same time, a series of "clanging" sounds rang out.

Countless bullets rained down from above, striking the spot where Ye Xiu and the others had been standing, splashing dirty water everywhere and creating small craters in the ground.

Upon seeing this, Li Yalin and Lanbet were immediately startled. Fortunately, Ye Xiu reminded them in time, otherwise it would have been troublesome.

"As expected of the Black Spider, he's got some skills." Li Yalin thought to herself, putting away her initial contempt.

At this moment, she saw that Ye Xiu was still holding her little hand, so she quickly patted the latter's paw.

At the same time, a man was seen standing on a high-rise building, holding a long, black submachine gun, with a sinister and eerie smile, looking quite arrogant.

He was dressed in a black combat uniform, with a small black spider tattooed on his left cheek, which easily attracted attention.

This person is none other than Black Spider.

And it was obvious that the bullet he just fired was the one that was fired.

"Heh, those little rats reacted pretty quickly, but you bunch of people from the Thirteenth Bureau dare to mess with me. Today, I'm going to cripple you all." Black Spider sneered, then waved his hand.

Suddenly, ten masked men in black, armed with guns, emerged from the alley and subtly surrounded Ye Xiu and his companions.

"Oh no, the intelligence is wrong, he actually has accomplices." Lin Yao's slightly nervous voice came through the earpiece.

Aside from Ye Xiu, Li Yalin and Lanbert's expressions darkened upon seeing this scene.

Seeing Ye Xiu and his two companions surrounded, Black Spider couldn't help but feel smug. He sneered, "Do you think I'm stupid for staying in Xidu? Do you think I'm unprepared? This time, I'll make your Thirteenth Bureau pay a heavy price."

Black Spider is notorious in the underworld for its cunning and its tendency to plan ahead. Before its target even realizes what's happening, it lays various traps, leaving the target with no choice but to struggle for survival, as if trapped in a spider web.
