Chapter 64 The Pilgrim (Please read further and vote with monthly tickets)

The scorching sun baked the desert, and the air itself was distorted and warped by the high temperature.

On the vast desert, a group of about twenty people were trudging along, as if they were searching for something.

His gray robes were tattered and torn, his body was soaked with sweat, and because he hadn't washed them for years, they emitted an unpleasant odor. His face was also full of fatigue, and he looked like he might collapse at any moment.

Many years ago, there existed an oasis kingdom called the Kingdom of Akel in the Somar Desert.

The country's economy is highly developed, and its social welfare is unparalleled on the planet Aquamarine.

However, with the outbreak of the great war, the militarily weak Kingdom of Akel was destroyed in less than seven days.

The former oasis has turned into a desert, and these ragged people are the remnants of the Kingdom of Akel.

The reason they never left was due to a legend that once circulated in the Kingdom of Akel:

Legend has it that deep within the Somar Desert lies a treasure that can control the desert and contains powerful magical energy.

Decades ago, during the war, a massive vortex swept across the Somar Desert as if manipulated, lasting for seven days.

Therefore, some of the remnants of the Kingdom of Akel placed their hopes for the restoration of their kingdom on this legendary treasure, hoping that with its help, the glory of the Kingdom of Akel could be restored to the planet Aquamarine.

"Pilgrims" is the nickname that the planet Aquamarine uses to refer to this group of remnants of the Kingdom of Akel.

But as time went by, the once large number of pilgrims gradually decreased in size due to the failure to find the treasure and other reasons. Now, only about twenty people remain.

"Hoo!" The oldest pilgrim took a deep breath, looked up at the boundless yellow ocean before him, and muttered to himself, "The ruins of Philonia, the power of magic, it must exist."

……

Somar Desert, an iron fortress.

As the metal gates slowly opened, a convoy drove in.

"Dorothy, have you found any clues about Philonia this time?" Luo Qing, the leader of the Rose Armed Forces, asked.

"No, but we did get into a fight with Gordon's men on the way."

Dorothy replied in a deep, resonant voice. She was a strong, Black woman with powerful, muscular physiques exposed outside her tactical vest, radiating strength.

The Rose Armed Forces are a well-known mercenary organization in the Somar Desert, composed entirely of women. Under the orders of their mastermind, they are stationed deep in the desert year-round, searching for clues about Philonia.

Luo Qing was not disappointed upon hearing this, and said calmly, "Go and rest for a while. You will lead the team to search areas E1, E2, and D5 later."

"Yes." Dorothy nodded.

……

Inside a dark green transport plane, Ye Xiu was resting with his eyes closed.

At that moment, a flight attendant's voice suddenly rang out, "Mr. Ye Xiaoshuai, please prepare yourselves. We have lowered the plane to a suitable altitude."

Upon hearing this, Ye Xiu opened his eyes, unbuckled his seatbelt, warmed himself up slightly, opened the cabin door, and jumped out.

As he drew closer to the ground, he silently counted, "10, 7, 3... Oh no, the parachute is opening too slowly!"

"boom!"

A red figure suddenly crashed into the desert, creating a large crater, and yellow sand flew everywhere.

"puff!"

Ye Xiu pulled his head out of the sand, then shook it off.

Although the parachute opened slowly, fortunately he activated his superpower in time and his body was not seriously injured.

Based on the location on his phone, he quickly found his off-road vehicle.

The SUV was pushed off the transport plane by the flight attendants.

Ye Xiu's chosen airline did not have a runway in the Somar Desert, so he had to get off the train halfway through the journey.

Moreover, the airline wouldn't have agreed if the "gift" he gave hadn't been so expensive.

After getting into the off-road vehicle, Ye Xiu drove directly into the depths of the desert.

It wasn't for the Rose Armed Forces, but for the relics of Philonia.

Based on his memory, he remembered that this site was not far from the Rose Armed Forces, and he should be able to find it with some time.

More importantly, Ye Xiu knew that Philonia existed, which gave him a greater motivation than others.

As for the Rose Armed Forces, Ye Xiu plans to deal with them after finishing with the relics of Philonia.

After all, it's 100,000 experience points, so it can't be wasted. Besides, there are several superhumans in the Rose Armed Forces who can help him complete the advancement mission faster.

……

Time flies, and three days passed quickly.

The starry sky in the desert is exceptionally beautiful, with a dazzling Milky Way that is breathtaking, and several bright, round stars radiating a beautiful glow.

Ye Xiu, however, had no interest in appreciating the beautiful scenery and continued his silent search.

"Buzz~"

Just then, the roar of four off-road vehicle engines grew louder as they approached, soon coming into view.

A woman's half-body was visible in one of the SUVs. Holding a megaphone, she shouted at Ye Xiu, "Stop, SUVs ahead! This is not a place for you!"

"Hmm?" Ye Xiu raised an eyebrow. "Such a loud tone, isn't he afraid of suffocating people?"

Just as he was about to ignore the group, they suddenly clamped his SUV between their legs, making it impossible for him to move.

Ye Xiu's eyes turned cold as he left the SUV through the car window.

Dorothy immediately led the mercenaries of the Rose Armed Forces out of the off-road vehicle, holding guns and aiming their thick, black barrels at Ye Xiu.

Out of caution, she did not choose to attack Ye Xiu immediately upon arrival.

In their search for Philonia, this group of mercenaries frequently clashed with hostile forces, engaging in small battles every three days and large-scale battles every five days.

Therefore, the surviving mercenaries all had blood on their hands and were people who would kill without batting an eye.

The latest novel is first published here!

Dorothy opened her mouth and said coldly, "Tell me your origins, and if possible, we might let you leave the Somar Desert alive."

Maybe, haha!

Ye Xiu narrowed his eyes, looking at these all-female mercenaries, and a guess popped into his mind.

He then smiled and said, "No problem, my name is..."

He was speaking when suddenly his inner strength erupted, and his armor emitted a dazzling red light.

"Eight Extremes Collapse!"

Ye Xiu suddenly attacked, his fists slamming into Dorothy's head.

"Superpowered Individuals!"

Dorothy was startled and retreated several steps, but Ye Xiu's fist followed closely and finally struck her hard in the face.

"Pfft!" Dorothy felt a sweet taste in her throat and spat out a large amount of blood, mixed with several teeth.

My right cheek was also burning with pain, and it was swollen even more than my left cheek.

"You're asking for death." Dorothy spat out another mouthful of blood and shouted coldly.

At the same time, members of the Rose Armed Forces, armed with submachine guns, immediately opened fire on Ye Xiu, sending sparks flying that momentarily blinded them.

"King's Fist!" Dorothy roared and unleashed a barrage of punches, sending countless fist shadows hurtling towards Ye Xiu.

"Huh? Turtle Fist, what kind of dog name is that? Sure enough, the weirder the name, the faster it dies."

Ye Xiu did not dodge, but directly clashed with Dorothy head-on, throwing punches continuously with thunderous force.

He quickly seized the opportunity and punched Dorothy in the chest.

"Bang!"

Dorothy staggered backward, spitting out another mouthful of blood, as if her own blood were free.

At the same time, a burning pain shot through my chest, as if it were about to explode.

Knowing she was no match for the person in front of her, and that the idea was too difficult to handle, Dorothy didn't hesitate any longer and quickly told everyone to get in the car and leave.

"Huh? Still trying to run away? Do you think I'm a public toilet?" Ye Xiu's face turned cold. He unleashed the Seven Injury Fist and the Eight Extremes Collapse back and forth, causing Dorothy to cough up blood continuously, with damage values of "-457!", "-555!", and "-666!" appearing above her head one after another.

Dorothy truly lives up to her reputation as a martial artist; putting everything else aside, her health bar is exceptionally thick.

"call out!"

Seeing that Instructor Dorothy was about to be killed, a member of the Rose Armed Forces quickly took out a distress flare and fired it into the sky.

In an instant, white light illuminated the night sky.

Upon seeing this, the members of the Rose Armed Forces breathed a sigh of relief.

The stronghold is only about sixteen minutes away. If we just hold on a little longer, reinforcements will arrive!

Ye Xiu glanced at the distress flare and chuckled, "You're going to fire a Cloud Piercing Arrow at me again?"

He immediately unleashed his full firepower, holding nothing back, and destroyed one of the off-road vehicles.

Dorothy gritted her teeth, her whole body surging with purple energy, and charged at Ye Xiu once again.

The book is expected to be available on Friday, so I'll only be updating three chapters a day for the next two days as a treat for my readers. There will be another chapter at 9 PM.
