Chapter 236 Zorro the Assassin

Chapter 236 Zorro the Assassin

After leaving the motel, I drove around the city in the old, beat-up rented Highlander.

Old Jack was pondering the matter of Boro acting as an intermediary and saying that someone had invited them to dinner to buy weapons.

"There's definitely something fishy going on here!"

Old Jack is a seasoned veteran; you can't fool him at all. He knows something's up as soon as the other person bends over.

"Of course there's a trap here! Mexican drug traffickers are cunning, treacherous, and ruthless. They've got their eyes on our equipment; they're probably planning to force us to buy it. But it's okay, we'll just strike first!"

Zhang Ailun also planned to double-cross them. Attend the banquet? He had absolutely no intention of doing so.

I just raised my sniper rifle and blew their heads off from 800 meters away! Then I walked away gracefully.

Blitz also discovered that the Rainbow Hotel was invested and operated by Mr. Bangkok of the White Horse Group, and served as a transit point for their drug trafficking and smuggling.

Zhang Ailun handed the cold wallet to Blitz, instructing him and Old Jack to get off the bus midway and find a local with connections to sell the cryptocurrency and exchange it for cash.

I drove alone to Julu Street, and as soon as I arrived, I saw a group of people trading leaves.

They don't shy away from people at all.

Zhang Ailun ignored them and continued driving through the alleys, quickly finding a Chevrolet with license plate TEXAS-59-B2. There were bullet holes in the rear of the car, but basically no one paid any attention; a car in this condition parked on the street was considered a rare find.

He parked the Highlander on the side of the road, got out of the car, put on gloves, and smashed the already dilapidated car window with his fist. Sure enough, he saw the person slumped over the driver's seat.

He had a stubble beard, wore a blue plaid shirt, and his white short-sleeved undershirt was stained red with blood. He held a COP pistol in his hand, felt his carotid artery, and realized the man was still breathing. His face was pale.

He looked like he was barely breathing, but thankfully he wasn't hit in any vital areas, so it seemed like there was still hope.

They looted all the guns and weapons from the other person's body, including leg wraps, shoes, and lower back straps. In total, they found a tactical knife, a CPU pistol, a short shotgun, six shotgun shells, a box of unidentified capsules, a syringe, and a diamond and gold mascot mask in a nearby bundle.

There were quite a few items. Given that the other party was a retired assassin, these things were probably all tools used in the crime.

After thinking it over, the leader simply carried the man to the back seat of the Highlander, pulled out bandages and tied his hands and feet tightly, took a picture and sent it to Blitz and Old Jack.

Old Jack: How come you killed someone so soon after you left home? Find a place to bury him right now! Don't let the police see it, or you'll have to pay a huge bail! You can also go to the port area, tie him to a rock, and throw him into the river.

Zhang Ailun: I didn't do it. I found him in a car on the side of the road. He had lost too much blood and was unconscious. This guy must be a killer. I found some tools on him. There was also a shooting incident here yesterday. It is said that he offended the people of Motorbike. He killed more than a dozen armed robbers by himself and only suffered minor injuries.

Old Jack: The man is covered in blood, and it's just a minor injury? A mere fatal wound? But I suggest you don't get involved in this. Just leave him where he is and let him die.

Zhang Ailun: I also found a diamond and gold mask on him. It's worth at least $50!

Old Jack: Is this for real? Then why don't you hurry up and kill him? Where is he? Do you need my help?

Zhang Ailun: Look at you, so anxious. Can't you have a little compassion? I think he still has some skills. It would be a pity if he died. Wouldn't it be better to pay some medical expenses and let him work with this mask to pay off his debts?

Old Jack: If I had been merciful, I would have been the one dead when the CIA double-crossed us. This guy can take down a dozen men by himself, he's got some skills, but you better not expect these guys in Laredo to repay you! They're all selfish, money-grubbing bastards!

Zhang Ailun: Aren't you a bastard too? I'm willing to give you a chance, so I'm willing to give others a chance as well. If he dares to bare his teeth at his savior after he wakes up, I guarantee I'll empty the magazine and smash his head in! The gun I have isn't something to be trifled with.

Old Jack: Heh heh. You know what you're doing. Good luck, you bastard!

Your whole family are bastards.

The Grand Master is such a good person.

They have no respect for elders or elders all day long.

Zhang Ailun immediately consulted Blitz, asking him to find a nearby underground hospital that could treat gunshot wounds.

Blitz: There's an underground clinic just two blocks away in an alley. It's ostensibly a clothing discount store.

Zhang Ailun got into the car, searched for nearby small hospitals, and drove to that place.

Zorro woke up halfway through the journey, glanced at the stranger in the driver's seat, his expression changed slightly, and he subconsciously tried to get up and break free, but when he looked down, he found himself tied up.

Zhang Ailun glanced at him through the rearview mirror and said casually, "You're awake? I thought you were about to die."

Zorro asked in a deep voice, "Are you from Motorbon?"

"No, I'm just a tourist who found you on the roadside. I found some random documents and your toys on you. The reason I tied you up was just to stop your bleeding." He made up a lie with a straight face.

"You're worried I'll impulsively hurt you when I wake up, aren't you?" Zorro's expression softened. "Where are my things?"

Zhang Ailun casually tossed it to him, "Here."

Zorro ignored the other odds and ends, opened the handbag with his teeth, saw the golden mask, and immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

Lowering his guard against Zhang Ailun, he said, "You're here as a tourist? You really have no taste. A normal person would never come here for no reason."

"I heard that yesterday at the bar, someone was playing Russian roulette and betting their life on a very valuable piece of jewelry. In the end, a lucky person won it, but he was then chased by people from Motorbike and went missing injured. That person must be you, right? You're quite capable, taking down more than a dozen people by yourself," Zhang Ailun said.

"That's right, that person is me, and that thing is right here, but why didn't you choose to kill me and steal it?" Zorro admitted frankly.

"I am a law-abiding citizen!" Zhang Ailun said.

Zorro remained silent, then glanced meaningfully at Zhang Ailun's tactical chest pack. "Law-abiding citizens don't carry guns around like that. There aren't any truly law-abiding citizens in Laredo. You definitely have something bigger planned!"

"If I set my sights on something, it will come to me on its own; there's no need to do anything," Zhang Ailun said with a smile.

"Where are we going now?" Zorro didn't believe his nonsense at all, glanced at the scenery outside, and asked, "Where's my car?"

"Are you sure you didn't steal that car?" Zhang Ailun teased. "Dude, look at you, all shabby and smelly. Your clothes probably don't even cost more than $50. You probably can't afford a car. If this weren't Laredo, I'd think you were a homeless person."

"Who do you think you are? I bought that car from a dealer for $4000!" Zorro was a little angry, but the next second he paid the price for his behavior and coughed violently.

His face was deathly pale, and he looked like a sickly old man.

"Don't die in my car."

Zhang Ailun delivered another blow.

Zorro took a few quick breaths to calm himself down.

"Take me to the hospital, remove the bullet, and once I've recovered, I'll sell this thing and you can get a share! This mask is worth at least $500,000!" Zorro thought to himself. "I can give you $50,000... no, $100,000!!"

"Dude, do I look like someone who's short of money? If I were after the mask, why didn't I just kill you from the start?" Zhang Ailun retorted.

"Then what is it for?" Zorro asked, somewhat confused.

"Of course it's for you."

Zhang Ailun makes no secret of his admiration for him.

The last person the Grand Master admired was the God of War at the Mountain Top Manor, who single-handedly killed ten enemies with just his dog, but unfortunately, he was already dead.

There's a real, strong man here; we should at least try to win him over.

"..."

Zorro hesitated for a moment, then said with a frustrated tone, "I'm sorry, I'm not gay."

Having lived for so many years, this was the first time he had ever heard a man say that to him.

"Then I won't take you to the hospital. If I can't have you, no one else can." Zhang Ailun turned his car around and drove past him at the alley entrance.

Zorro was completely numb.

It wasn't you...

You're insane!!

He was already severely injured and very weak, with all the negative effects stacked up, and couldn't withstand any more torment. Now, there was this weirdo tormenting his mental and physical strength, pushing him to the point of mental breakdown.

"What exactly do you want to do?"

Looking at the alleyway disappearing into the distance, Zorro, a local, knew perfectly well that it was the hospital, and he grew a little anxious.

He immediately said, "Fxxk! Give up! Even if I die, I will never sell my body!"

"We'll split the profits from the diamond and gold mask equally. You can work for me to repay the debt of saving my life. Or, you can stay in the car and wait to die. The choice is yours," Zhang Ailun said.

"You want me to follow you? What do you think you are? You're threatening me with your life? Even if you get my body, you won't get my loyalty."

Zorro said defiantly, "You should already know who I am. My fees are very high!"

"There's no base salary guaranteed for working with me, but there are performance-based bonuses, so you can earn at least several thousand dollars a day. I have a task to do right now."

Zhang Ailun said, "I'm in the arms business. As for your identity, to be honest, if it weren't for your performance yesterday, I wouldn't even bother to give you a second glance! Aren't you just an assassin who couldn't get any missions, had no market, and was forced to retire?"

"You're only in your early thirties, a time when you should be making your mark, and you've chosen to retire. Either this job has no future, or you've already earned enough."

"Look at yourself! Even a dog would shake its head at you and wouldn't bother with you. You must be starved for love in your life, right? You're all alone, no family, no girlfriend, and nobody wants to be your friend. I know someone who at least has a dog, but you, my friend, you don't even have a dog!"

Zorro instantly turned red.

A piece of glass is about to break.

His mental vulnerabilities were brutally exploited and attacked.

Why are you so vicious?

Zhang Ailun smiled slightly: "Because I have people who love me. I have friends. I have money. I can say whatever I want; I have freedom of speech!"

Zorro took a deep breath. Damn it, I really want to shoot you dead!

You're such a despicable person!

"Fine, I can work for you. I knew your identity wasn't that simple." Zorro conceded. "If you don't want my corpse to serve you, I need to receive treatment now, sir!"

"Okay, my name is Humbert Juan King. It's nice to be your boss. What's your name?"

"Hamburger?"

Zorro let out a mocking laugh that seemed to have no meaning, "My name is Zorro!"

"Do you want to die?"

Zhang Ailun gave him a forced smile and said, "I'll go find a doctor to 'treat' you right now."

You're so hypocritical!

Can't take a joke, huh?

Zorro swallowed his anger.

They quickly turned the car around and entered the alley, parked at the intersection, and arrived at the clothing discount store.

Zhang Ailun got out of the car with his bag and helped Zorro untie the bandages. Zorro's expression instantly changed; he suddenly sprang up and grabbed the leader by the collar, attempting an over-the-shoulder throw. "Fxxk you! Serves you right for talking to me like that!!"

"See if I can't kill you by throwing you... Hmm?" Zorro suddenly pulled, sensing something was wrong.

I can't pull it!

Looking back at Zhang Ailun, whose smile was forced, he took a deep breath, realizing he had met his match.

"I dared to untie your bandages, so I'm not afraid of you engaging me in close combat. Assassin? I'll teach you a lesson today, showing you what a close-combat assassin really is!!"

He grabbed Zorro's waist and slammed him into the roof of the Highlander with a loud thud. Zorro was stunned and lost his breath.

She rolled over and fell to the ground, her pale face instantly turning red, and she curled up like a shrimp.

"Oh! Shit..." Her eyes rolled back and she fainted.

Zhang Ailun calmly closed the car door, spat, and said, "I haven't hit anyone in a long time, you little brat, and you've already put on this act."

Bare-handed on the street. The Grand Master really doesn't tolerate anyone.

They went straight into the clothing discount store, and under the astonished gaze of the staff at the shady underground clinic, Zhang Ailun said, "Bring that guy in for treatment. Medical expenses are no problem; he'll cover them. He's rich! Use the best medicine!!"

"OK".

The staff were used to this, so they opened the back door and called out a few people from inside.

The surgeon, dressed in a white coat, and other medical staff examined the patient's injuries and then carried the person inside on a stretcher.

Zhang Ailun waited patiently in the store. Half an hour later, a doctor came out and explained the situation.

"The person is out of danger. The three bullets did not hit any vital organs. He only suffered a mild concussion and his wounds reopened and bled, but these are minor issues. We have already given him a blood transfusion. He is in good physical condition. According to the instrument test, his bone density is 1.5 times that of an average person! He's a tough guy."

"The medical expenses, plus the anesthetic with no side effects, will total $75000. Will you be paying by card, cash, or cryptocurrency? If you use Tether or Bitcoin, the change will be waived; you only need to pay $7," the staff member said enthusiastically.

"...?"

Zhang Ailun looked at him in surprise.

"Dude, why are you asking me for money? Go ask the doctor for it! Didn't I already say that medical expenses are not a problem, the patient will cover it!"

"Didn't you come with him?" The staff member was a little confused.

"Yeah, but I'm just a passerby. I have no obligation to pay for him. Didn't you see that this wolf cub tried to ambush me just now?" Zhang Ailun said.

"Then let's go wake them up now."

The unscrupulous doctor at the clinic sensed something was wrong. He quickly woke the patient and demanded payment.

Immediately afterwards, a cacophony of profanities erupted from inside: "You dare come here for treatment if you have no money? It's a total of $75000! Don't even think about getting away with not a penny! If you don't pay us, you can forget about getting your organs!"

"Ouch! Don't remove my stitches!! Boss, help me!!"
