The Lord of the Heavenly Eclipse Palace in the Swallowed Starry Sky

Chapter 63 The Assessment Begins

As Li Yang and the others stepped into the light array, the surrounding space instantly transformed, and they found themselves in a dreamlike forest.

This forest is unlike any other forest. Every tree towers into the clouds, and its trunks shimmer with colorful, mysterious runes, as if telling ancient stories.

The leaves are broad and thick, as if carved from the purest jade, each radiating a soft light of life. Various exotic flowers dot the grass, some shaped like bells, making a crisp sound when they sway gently; others with petals as light as butterfly wings, dancing gracefully in the breeze.

However, beneath this seemingly beautiful scene lies the first test—insight into life.

A special kind of energy mist permeated the air, which interfered with the perception of those who entered, making it difficult for them to accurately capture information about life.

Every life in the forest contains complex emotions and unique life codes, which intertwine to form an invisible information network.

"This fog is a bit tricky, everyone be careful," the founder of the giant axe warned, gripping his giant axe tightly and scanning his surroundings warily.

"Hmm, this test is not simple. We need to calm down," a cosmic lord responded, closing his eyes and trying to concentrate on sensing the life fluctuations around him.

Li Yang closed his eyes, calmed his mind, and slowly released his soul power.

His soul power, like a gentle thread, carefully seeped into every corner of the forest. At first, he could only sense a chaotic fluctuation of life, but he was not impatient; instead, he patiently sorted through this information.

He walked up to an ancient tree with a trunk so thick that it would take dozens of people to encircle it.

Li Yang gently placed his hand on the tree trunk. He could feel the tree's life force pulsating beneath his palm—a steady and ancient rhythm, as if telling the story of the vicissitudes of time. He sensed it deeply and discovered that the tree's life energy formed wondrous vortices deep within the trunk, vortices containing the tree's memories and emotions.

"Have you made any discoveries? The life force in this forest is too complex," Peng Gongzhi asked anxiously, clearly encountering difficulties in perceiving it.

Peng Gong's master is not good at these things.

"Don't panic, feel it slowly. There must be some kind of connection between these lives," the founder of the giant axe said calmly, his soul power also trying to break through the interference of the mist.

"It feels like groping in the dark, with no clue what to do," said the Lord of Chaos City.

"Be patient, we can't let this fog cloud our judgment." Li Yang opened his eyes and looked at everyone. "I just sensed some unusual energy fluctuations in this big tree. Perhaps we can start from here."

"As everyone knows, there are eight fundamental laws in the universe: metal, wood, water, fire, earth, wind, thunder, and light, and two superior laws: time and space," Li Yang said. "But I suspect that this place is the legacy of life laws left behind by an even more powerful being."

"The Law of Life!" Everyone was shocked.

As the pinnacle of humankind, they had never even heard of the existence of the Law of Life.

"That's right, I have some insights into the laws of fusion. As everyone knows, my Snow Moon Tree clone is skilled in the laws of water and wood, while the lower laws of the law of life are water, wood, wind, light, and time!"

"Therefore, I felt this energy fluctuation more clearly."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

At the center of one of the vortexes, Li Yang discovered a faint trace of special energy.

This energy is different from the surrounding life force; it is like a dazzling star, shining with a unique light in the ocean of life.

This energy contains the tree's love for protecting this forest, as well as its subtle connection with other life forms; it is the key information hidden deep within the forest.

"I think I sensed some special energy. Everyone, please pay attention to similar feelings," Li Yang shared his discovery with everyone.

"Special energy? What is it?" a cosmic lord asked in bewilderment.

"It's a force that's different from the surrounding life fluctuations. It seems to have some special mission and is closely connected to other life forms," Li Yang explained.

"Eclipse, how did you find it? I can't sense anything at all," Peng Gongzhi said anxiously.

"Calm down, clear your mind of distractions, and let your soul explore more deeply," Li Yang patiently replied.

Li Yang continued to traverse the forest, engaging in a spiritual dialogue with every living being.

He sensed the joy of flowers blooming, felt the freedom of grass swaying in the wind, and also felt the fear of the unknown held by some ancient creatures. He collected these emotions and information one by one, piecing together the life map of the entire forest like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.

"These lives are so rich in emotions, like a vast world," Li Yang sighed softly.

Other cosmic lords and the creators of the giant axe were either hampered by the mist and unable to perceive it deeply, or although they could capture some life information, they were unable to find the key from the complex network.

"I think I've found some clues, but they're not very clear yet," said the Chaos City Lord, his brows furrowed as if he was trying to sort things out.

"The longer it goes on, the thicker the fog becomes. We need to speed things up," Peng Gongzhi replied anxiously, a hint of tension in his eyes.

"Don't rush, the more you rush, the more likely you are to make mistakes. We must trust our intuition," said the founder of the Giant Axe.

"But the fog is getting thicker and thicker, making it even harder to catch any information," Peng Gongzhi said worriedly.

The latest novel is first published here!

"We cannot be influenced by external factors; we must concentrate," the founder of Giant Axe encouraged.

Time passed slowly, and Li Yang was the first to complete his observation of all life in the forest, finding the hidden source of life—a life crystal that emitted a faint light.

The crystal was hidden in a secluded tree hollow, protected by a powerful life barrier. Li Yang, relying on his precise perception of life energy, broke through the barrier, successfully found the life crystal, and passed the first test.

"I found it!" Li Yang shouted, holding the Life Crystal in his hands, its light reflecting on his excited face.

"That's great, Tian Shi, you're amazing!" The others exclaimed in admiration, their eyes filled with both respect for Li Yang and a hint of regret for not having found him first.

"Heavenly Eclipse, tell us quickly how you broke through those complex life information to find the crystal?" Master Peng asked curiously.

"I followed the emotional connections and special energy fluctuations between those lives, little by little, to find them. Each life is like a clue; as long as you are careful enough, you can find where they all point to," Li Yang explained with a smile.

"It seems we weren't careful enough," the Chaos City Lord said with some annoyance.

"It's alright, this is just the first test, we still have a chance," the founder of the giant axe comforted him.

"That's right, we need to work even harder from now on." Li Yang looked at everyone with a determined gaze. "This life crystal must have more secrets, and we can study it together."

So, everyone gathered around Li Yang, carefully observing the life crystal. The light emitted by the crystal seemed to have a calming power, gradually easing everyone's tense emotions.

"There seems to be information in the light of this crystal, look," the Chaos City Lord suddenly said.

"This is the method to enter the next level. Use divine power to activate this crystal, and you can enter the next level!"

As Li Yang spoke, he channeled his divine power into the crystal before him.

"Whoosh!"

The group disappeared from the spot.
