Douluo Continent II: The Dragon Breaks the Nine Heavens

Chapter 109 The Wronged Child's Strange Journey

While Lin Yun was wreaking havoc on the Yin-Yang Well of Ice and Fire, the far north also welcomed an uninvited guest destined to be disappointed.

No, there should be two.

After several days of arduous travel, Huo Yuhao finally arrived at the coldest place on the Douluo Continent.

After all, Huo Yuhao is not like Lin Yun. Even ignoring the ferocious beast-level NPCs that constantly spawn around him, Huo Yuhao himself has the Golden Shadow Dragon Wings, a flying external soul bone. If Lin Yun were to travel from Shrek Academy to the far north, it would probably take less than half a day, but Huo Yuhao took nearly a week.

A quarter of the holiday had already passed before Huo Yuhao finally arrived at the Frozen Forest.

"Brother Tianmeng, we've reached the far north! What should we do next?" Huo Yuhao exhaled a puff of white breath and shivered violently.

Feeling the familiar chill, the Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm also awoke from its slumber, gazing nostalgically at this bitterly cold land through Huo Yuhao's eyes.

Since it awoke from its slumber after devouring the Myriad Years of Profound Ice Marrow ten thousand years ago, it has been relentlessly pursued by the Ice Emperor. After crossing oceans to the Star Dou Great Forest, where it was used as a power bank, it has not returned to the far north for ten thousand years.

Compared to the Starry Sky Forest, a place that had tormented it for millennia, it preferred the far north.

more importantly……

"Hehe, Bingbing, we're finally going to meet again!" Tianmeng Ice Silkworm's heart was filled with excitement. It suppressed its excitement and said to Huo Yuhao, "Yuhao, don't rush. This is only the outer edge of the far north. Our goal is not here. You need to continue to go deeper into the far north until I say stop."

"Oh, okay, Brother Tianmeng." Huo Yuhao nodded blankly, then prepared to venture deep into the far north.

Watching Huo Yuhao's actions, Tianmeng Ice Silkworm sighed deeply, her small eyes filled with hatred as she said, "It's a pity that when I merged with you, my last remains were stolen by Di Tian. Otherwise, with my remains, you could have roamed freely throughout the far north, and no soul beast would have been able to detect your presence."

"Besides concealing your presence, my remains could also protect you from the cold, but now that's completely useless, damn it!"

Huo Yuhao paused slightly, but didn't say anything more.

Although he felt very regretful, it was something he couldn't control. He had fainted at the time and had no idea about whether or not he had a molt. Now, Huo Yuhao could only do his best to resist the omnipresent cold of the far north.

After arriving here, he, a person below level 20, felt as if the entire far north was against him. He had to use all his strength to take even one more step forward.

It was also thanks to the second martial soul bestowed upon Huo Yuhao by the Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm that he was able to obtain the second martial soul. Even though it had not yet been awakened, this unformed ice-attribute martial soul had greatly increased Huo Yuhao's ice resistance. Otherwise, he would probably have already exhausted his soul power and frozen into an icicle by now.

When external factors become too strong, they become something that willpower alone cannot withstand. Even if Huo Yuhao's heart is resilient enough and his determination to become stronger is firm enough, without the protection of his remains, Huo Yuhao's body will inevitably be eroded by the cold of the far north.

This level of cold is beyond the reach of ordinary clothing; at the very least, clothing made from fire-attribute rare and precious materials would be needed to withstand the extreme cold of the far north.

Unfortunately, Huo Yuhao couldn't afford any of these clothes. "Yuhao, from now on, I will unseal a portion of my essence to protect you. This portion of essence will not only protect you from the cold, but will also forcibly enhance your soul power. This is why I sent you to the far north before you reached level 20." After Huo Yuhao reached a certain limit, Tianmeng Ice Silkworm spoke.

As one of the ten seals of the Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm cracked open in Huo Yuhao's sea of consciousness, a brilliant golden energy liquid slowly flowed out of the seal and poured into Huo Yuhao's sea of consciousness.

At the same time, Huo Yuhao felt his nerves, which had been numb from the cold, regaining their sharpness. His mind was clear, while in contrast, he felt a warm sensation throughout his body.

The cells in the fingers and toes that had been necrotic from the extreme cold were regaining their vitality. Frostbite, which was incurable on Earth, was being completely healed by the primal power of the Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm.

If its remains hadn't been stolen, Tianmeng Ice Silkworm would have been truly reluctant to use its source power to treat frostbite, such a luxury. Its source power could do many things, and it really hurt to waste it on something like this.

"Alright, Yuhao, let's keep going!" Tianmeng Ice Silkworm said, her tone full of encouragement. "Keep going, if you get through this, you'll become the top genius Soul Master in the Douluo Continent!"

"I understand, Brother Tianmeng!" Huo Yuhao was filled with fighting spirit after drinking the soup, and he once again moved his legs, which had regained their strength, and headed towards the core circle of the far north.

Along the way, when Huo Yuhao was hungry, he would eat the frozen dry rations; when he was thirsty, he would drink the thawed snow water from his water bottle, which he had melted with his body heat.

Two more days passed, and Huo Yuhao, utterly exhausted, finally arrived at the location reserved by Tianmeng Ice Silkworm.

Perhaps because the Ice Emperor and Snow Emperor left together, the Titan Snow Demon King needed to guard the core area of the far north. This time, Huo Yuhao did not encounter the Titan Snow Demon King he was supposed to meet. Although he also encountered many soul beasts, under the cover of the Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm, he was able to escape danger without any real harm.

"That's enough, Yuhao. Let's stop here. I'll leave a portion of my Origin Power on you to protect you, but I need to extract the rest. Success or failure hinges on this!" Tianmeng Ice Silkworm said solemnly.

Without its remains, the Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm's confidence in trapping the Ice Emperor was greatly reduced. In addition, it had also used up its ability to teleport Huo Yuhao away. If it weren't for its lingering concern for the Ice Emperor, given the Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm's fear of death, it really wouldn't have wanted to take the risk.

"I understand, Brother Tianmeng!" Huo Yuhao nodded and sat down on the ground with a tired expression.

He used all his strength to dig a cave in the permafrost of the far north core area, just big enough to barely accommodate his body, and hid inside.

Seeing that Huo Yuhao was ready, the Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm also began to act. Ten small sun-like seals flew out from between Huo Yuhao's eyebrows one after another, gathered together, and then suddenly flashed out.

Hundreds of meters in the sky, the ten sealed orbs of light combined to form a golden human figure.

That was Huo Yuhao's appearance, the human form of the Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm after its transformation.

"Hyotei, I, Tenmu, have returned for revenge! Dare to show yourself?!"
