Qiu Yingying is reborn and bound to a learning system.

Chapter 11 Party Annoying Encounters Andy

As night deepened, room 2203 on the 22nd floor of Ode to Joy was in complete chaos. Qu Xiaoxiao had just returned to China, and a group of her cronies had flocked to welcome her over. Deafening electronic music blasted from a subwoofer, colorful spotlights spun wildly in the room, and the clinking of glasses and the sounds of laughter and playful banter echoed through the hallway.

In room 2202, Fan Shengmei frowned as she turned the TV volume up to the maximum, but it still couldn't drown out the noise from next door: "That Xiao Qu is so inconsiderate. It's almost eleven o'clock, and she's still making such a racket." Guan Juer was working on her internship report with headphones on, her fingers flying across the keyboard, but her brows furrowed deeper and deeper, completely drowning out the English listening comprehension in her headphones. Qiu Yingying lit scented candles and was doing practice problems with her books in hand. The clarity of mind brought on by the Intelligence Pill was now shrunk, and the knowledge points that were once clear became blurry again. She couldn't help but mutter, "How can anyone study like this?"

After enduring the noise for half an hour, it not only didn't subside but actually became more rampant. Fan Shengmei couldn't hold back any longer and dialed the property management office, her tone filled with suppressed dissatisfaction: "Could you please come and manage apartment 2203? Holding a party late at night is disturbing the peace. We have to go to work tomorrow."

Not long after, the property management knocked on apartment 2203. Qu Xiaoxiao, a straw dangling from her lips, swaggered out in her high heels, a smug smile on her face. She waved at the property management staff, "I know, I know, it's 10:50 already. Let's play for another ten minutes, I promise we'll be done!" She turned and shouted into the apartment, "Everyone, let's make the most of our last moments of fun! We're moving on to a bar on the Bund later, my treat!"

The property management staff left in frustration, but ten minutes later, the music in apartment 2203 was still blaring loudly. Just as Qiu Yingying was about to go and negotiate again, hurried footsteps suddenly came from the hallway, followed by a police knock on the door: "Open the door! We have received a complaint about suspected disturbance to the neighbors late at night. Please stop your activities immediately!"

The music stopped abruptly. Qu Xiaoxiao's smile vanished instantly. Furious, she flung open the door, saw the police off, then turned and kicked open the door to apartment 2202, her sharp eyes sweeping over the three people: "Who called the police? I already told the property management it would be over in ten minutes. Did they have to be so ruthless?"

Qiu Yingying shrank back in fright and quickly waved her hands, "It wasn't us! We only contacted the property management!" Guan Juer nodded in agreement, her eyes filled with panic. Fan Shengmei stood up, maintaining her composure, "Xiao Qu, neighbors should be considerate of each other. You did disturb everyone's rest, but we really didn't call the police."

"Who else could it be but you?" Qu Xiaoxiao said, hands on her hips, her tone becoming increasingly sharp.

Andy stood in the doorway with his arms crossed, his voice clear and firm: "I was the one who called the police."

Qu Xiaoxiao paused for a moment, looked the new neighbor up and down, and raised an eyebrow, saying, "Who are you? Mind your own business?"

Andy's gaze swept lightly across the scene before her, first landing on Fan Shengmei. She wore a fitted dress, her makeup exquisite, and her eyes held a mature charm—the kind of striking beauty that instantly captivated attention. Andy's gaze lingered on her face for half a second, a faint, almost imperceptible thought flashing through her mind: She looked very pleasant.

His gaze then slid to Qiu Yingying's face. The little girl had a round face and bright, sparkling eyes, with a hint of helplessness after being startled, like a soft little rabbit, exuding a fresh sweetness. Andy's eyebrows twitched almost imperceptibly, and he inexplicably found this face very endearing, even her slightly flustered appearance made it impossible to dislike her.

Next was Guan Juer. She wore thin-rimmed glasses and stood quietly to the side, her eyes gentle and her whole being exuding a well-behaved and sensible air, like a clean little white poplar. Andy's gaze softened for a moment; such a clean and refreshing appearance always made people subconsciously feel good about her.

Finally, her gaze settled on Qu Xiaoxiao. The girl wore a bright, cropped top, her makeup was flamboyant, and she stood with her hands on her hips like a puffed-up kitten, exuding a boisterous energy. Andy's brows furrowed almost imperceptibly. Too noisy, a bit annoying—that was the rational judgment. But as her gaze swept over Qu Xiaoxiao's delicate and bright face, she couldn't help but add in her mind: She's quite pretty.

She herself didn't realize that this subconscious acceptance of "looking good" had already quietly overshadowed her slight irritation.

"Andy, the owner of apartment 2201." Her tone was calm, yet carried an undeniable aura. "I've checked Shanghai's noise pollution standards. Between 10:30 PM and 7:00 AM the next day, anything exceeding 55 decibels is considered a disturbance. It's already midnight, and I've measured the noise level in your apartment with my phone's decibel meter. It exceeds 70 decibels, which fully meets the criteria for calling the police."

Andy paused, looking directly at Qu Xiaoxiao: "I waited fifteen minutes before calling the police this time, which is already quite considerate. If it happens again, I will call the police immediately and reserve the right to claim compensation. I need to rest, so I won't say any more."

After saying that, she turned and went into her room, gently closing the door behind her. Qu Xiaoxiao stood there stunned, her arrogant expression instantly gone. The three people in room 2202 exchanged glances, not expecting their new neighbor to be so formidable.

Qu Xiaoxiao bit her lip, glared fiercely in the direction of 2202, slammed the door, and went back to her own home. The hallway finally returned to silence, with only a few lingering echoes of the noise remaining.

Andy closed the door, leaned against it for a few seconds, and the sounds of the argument in the hallway were completely shut out.

She walked into the living room, poured herself a glass of warm water, and only when her fingertips touched the slightly cool glass did her tense shoulders slowly relax. The images from earlier kept replaying in her mind—Fan Shengmei's bright eyes and brows, Qiu Yingying's sweet and charming face, Guan Juer's clean-cut glasses, and Qu Xiaoxiao's flamboyant yet exceptionally beautiful face.

She frowned, trying to erase these irrelevant images from her mind. She was simply stating facts, simply asserting her right to rest; there was no need to remember what those people looked like.

But those beautiful faces, as if lightly drawn by an invisible brush, are unusually clear.

Andy sat down at her desk, turned on her computer, and her fingertips landed on the keyboard, but she didn't immediately type any code. She frowned in confusion. She was clearly a person who only valued logic and efficiency, so how could she have such a deep impression of the faces of several strangers?

She attributed it to "being disturbed by the noise tonight," and randomly opened a data analysis document, forcing herself to focus her attention on the dense numbers.

As for the subconscious preference for "good-looking" hidden beneath her indifferent exterior, she never took it to heart, nor did she realize that it was a kind of appearance-obsessed instinct that she herself was unaware of.

Andy sat at his desk, staring blankly at the code on the computer screen for a long time, his fingertips hovering over the mouse, but he couldn't calm down at all.

She finally picked up her phone, swiped her finger across the contacts, and precisely landed on the three words "Tan Zongming" before pressing the call button.

The call was quickly answered, and Tan Zongming's cheerful voice came from the other end: "What's wrong, Andy? You've only been here a few days, and you already miss me?"

Andy's fingers tightened slightly as she gripped her phone. Her tone was as calm as ever, yet it carried a hint of barely perceptible irritation: "Tan Zongming, I can't live in this house. It's too noisy."

"Noisy?" Tan Zongming paused. "Isn't the soundproofing in that neighborhood pretty good? What happened on your end?"

"My neighbors were having a party late at night, and the noise was out of control, so I called the police," Andy stated succinctly. "I need a quiet living environment, and this place doesn't meet my needs. Help me find a new place to live, the sooner the better."

Tan Zongming sensed the seriousness in her tone and dropped his joking thoughts: "Okay, I understand. Don't worry, I'll have someone check out the available properties tomorrow and make sure you find a quiet place."

He paused, then couldn't help but ask another question: "Besides the noise, are there any other problems over there? Are the neighbors difficult to get along with?"

Involuntarily, images of Fan Shengmei's bright face, Qiu Yingying's sweet and soft appearance, Guan Juer's obedient expression, and Qu Xiaoxiao's beautiful yet prickly face flashed through Andy's mind.

She paused for a moment, then quickly suppressed those thoughts and said calmly, "No, it's just a noise issue. We'll deal with it as soon as possible."

After saying that, she hung up the phone, threw it on the table, and looked back at the computer screen.

However, a hint of displeasure at being disturbed lingered in those clear, cold eyes, along with subtle traces of the vibrant faces they had left behind, which they themselves were unaware of.
