America: The Cremator
6. Fatal Passenger!
Sullon's right foot was almost pressing the accelerator pedal into the gas tank, and the V8 engine roared continuously, propelling the heavy Chevrolet Suburban speeding across the flooded road.
He raised his gaze and glanced at the rearview mirror inside the car.
The crossroads behind them, shrouded in torrential rain, became increasingly blurred in the rain curtain, and the tall figure in the black tuxedo disappeared into the depths of the rain.
The disappearance of the target made Su Long even more uneasy.
After all, what's more terrifying than seeing a spider is seeing it disappear in the blink of an eye.
His spiritual vision value is only 0, which means that he is no different from ordinary citizens and can only observe the supernatural with the naked eye when he comes into close contact with it.
For those with heightened vision, she might still be standing in the same spot, or she might be chasing the vehicle in some contorted posture, or even... she might have already climbed onto the roof of the car.
But he had no way of knowing.
In the passenger seat, Anthony was struggling to save himself.
The FBI agent was pale and his forehead was covered in fine beads of sweat.
He gripped the CAT tourniquet with his remaining left hand, and with a biting motion of his teeth, he tried to wrap the bandage around the smooth, flat cut on his right arm.
Blood had soaked half of the seat, and the strong smell of rust permeated the enclosed cabin, mixing with the smell of leather cleaner, making it nauseating.
Anthony completed the final spin and lock, then turned his head to look at the back seat.
Miles slumped in the leather seat, his obese body swaying with the bumps of the vehicle. His once rosy face now had a sickly purplish-red hue, his eyes were closed, and his chest remained completely still.
"Miles! Wake up!"
There was no response from the back seat.
Su Long gripped the steering wheel tightly, his eyes fixed on the road ahead: "Anthony, worry about yourself first. That guy is either in shock or dead."
Anthony turned around with difficulty, trying to reach out his left hand to touch his partner in the back seat, but the seatbelt restricted his movement.
"No, Surong, stop the car! We must stop the car immediately!"
Anthony's voice rose a few decibels, tinged with obvious anxiety.
"That guy swallowed his tongue. I have to pull it out and create an airway, or he'll suffocate!"
Sulong didn't ease off the accelerator; instead, he accelerated even faster, and the speedometer needle was already pointing to eighty miles per hour.
"Are you crazy? What if that monster is still chasing us? Stop the car now, and all three of us will die!"
Anthony unbuckled his seatbelt, leaned forward, and tried to climb into the back seat through the gap between the passenger seat and the center console.
"Give me just half a minute to sit in the back seat! Establishing an airway can save his life!"
"You should ask that woman who chopped my two colleagues into pieces if she'll give me even half a minute!"
Su Long reached out and punched Anthony in the face, sending him crashing back into his seat.
"Calm down, Anthony!"
Anthony was shoved and slammed against the back of the chair. The sharp pain from his severed arm made him gasp, and his bloodshot eyes stared at Su Long.
"Anthony, the maximum time for death by suffocation is 6 minutes."
"I'll give Miles four minutes... We'll drive at full speed for another four minutes, and once we've confirmed that we've created a safe distance, I'll stop."
"Before that, you have two things to do, listen carefully!"
"First, turn on this damn radio and ask where the nearby special patrol teams are."
"Call all the backup you can. If they can't come, find out where the nearest special operations team is, and we'll drive there."
"Second, bandage my wound properly, then administer painkillers and adrenaline. Don't let the pain affect your judgment!"
Anthony paused for a moment, then the panic in his eyes subsided somewhat: "You're right."
He quickly sat up straight and turned on the radio.
"Dispatch panel, this is Agent 714, Green. We have encountered a Class C anomaly, which appears as a woman in a black dress and has the ability to manipulate rain and cut objects."
"Both agents are seriously injured. Agent Miles has lost his right arm and is unconscious. I have lost my right hand. We are currently fleeing in a car along the southern section of the South Park Bridge. Requesting immediate support from a Special Operations Team!"
A crackling sound came from the radio, followed by a calm female voice replying.
"Agent 714, reported from headquarters."
"The two closest special operations teams are already on their way and are expected to arrive within ten minutes."
"They will approach you from the north and south sides of this road. Please stay on this road and do not turn into side roads."
"receive."
Anthony hung up the call and took a pack of sterile gauze and a roll of pressure bandage from the first aid kit at his feet.
He bit down on a corner of the gauze with his teeth, and with his left hand, he covered it over the primary bandage that was already soaked in blood, and then wrapped it tightly again to apply pressure.
After doing all that, he took out two automatic injection pens from a side compartment of the first aid kit.
One is fentanyl, and the other is adrenaline.
Without any hesitation, he directly injected two syringes into his thigh muscles through his pants.
As the medicine was administered, Anthony's tense facial muscles relaxed slightly, and his rapid breathing gradually calmed down.
The excruciating pain was forcibly suppressed by the medication, and the brain regained its ability to think.
He glanced at the tactical watch on his wrist.
"How many minutes until you park?"
Su Long stared at the dark, rainy night ahead, his lips moving slightly, just about to utter a number.
"1..."
Before the words were even finished, a large amount of thick, ink-like rain fell from the sky, slamming heavily against the windshield and instantly filling the entire field of vision.
The windshield wipers screeched under the strain as they struggled to clear a fan-shaped viewing window.
Through this brief moment of clear vision, Su Long saw the shadow standing in the middle of the road ahead.
"FUCK, they're catching up!"
Su Long cursed angrily and gripped the steering wheel tightly with both hands.
Anthony also saw the figure; the drugs had put him in a state of extreme excitement: "Suron, the bumper of this car is made of silver-tungsten alloy; it works on her!"
"Hit her! Run straight at her!"
Upon hearing this, Su Long did not hesitate at all. He pulled the seatbelt with one hand, quickly fastened it, and then stepped hard on the accelerator with his right foot.
The V8 engine roared like never before, charging toward that slender figure.
At the same time, Anthony opened the glove box in the passenger seat with his left hand and took out a spare Glock 17 pistol.
He placed the sleeve on the dashboard, pressed down hard to complete the loading action, and then pressed the sunroof button above his head.
The sunroof slowly opened, and icy rainwater instantly poured in.
Anthony unbuckled his seatbelt, placed his feet on the seat, and laboriously leaned his upper body out of the sunroof, aiming at the blurry figure ahead on the road.
The strong wind distorted his facial muscles, and raindrops pelted his face like pebbles.
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang..."
Flames spewed from the gun barrel, appearing particularly glaring in the darkness.
A magazine of bullets was emptied in a few seconds.
Due to the bumpy ride and strong winds, most of the bullets hit the empty asphalt surface, with only four bullets hitting the target.
The woman's body trembled slightly as one of the bullets struck her head, causing her once-proud head to droop helplessly again.
Right now.
The Chevrolet Suburban, traveling at full speed with tremendous kinetic energy, slammed its robust bumper, made of silver-tungsten alloy, into the woman's body.
In an instant, accompanied by a crisp and explosive sound, the woman's body, like a punctured balloon, burst open into a large patch of thick, dark rain.
Su Long felt as if he had smashed a giant ink bottle; the black liquid instantly covered the entire front of the car and the windshield, and even the side windows.
Anthony was also hit by this black wave, and was knocked unconscious, falling heavily back into the passenger seat.
Large amounts of black rainwater, propelled by inertia, poured into the carriage through the open sunroof.
At the same time, Su Long felt the entire car suddenly sink downwards, and the four shock absorber springs made a dull compression sound.
This increased weight likely comes not only from the rainwater that seeps into the car.
An extremely ominous premonition crept up Su Long’s spine to the back of his head, making the hairs on his body stand on end.
He subconsciously looked up at the rearview mirror.
Using the faint blue light emitted from the instrument panel, he could see the situation in the back row.
The figure in the black tuxedo, with a long neck, was sitting upright in the middle of the back seat.
Her head remained lowered, one hand slightly raised, holding Miles' head, the little finger at the end of her hand elegantly curled up, as if this were not a human head, but a magnificent lantern.
