After doing all this, Lance looked at Edmund.

"And you, have you remembered anything?"

"without."

"I've always wanted to ask, why are you so fixated on memories of the past?"

Lance even imagined a possible development.

Edmund was a heinous villain in the past. He finally managed to erase his memories, but then he painstakingly remembered them all again.

Isn't this just disgusting to yourself?

To Lance's surprise, Edmund sighed.

That's right.

Even that pretentious show-off who always appeared with an aura of mist had a moment of sighing.

"The decay of the body is only part of death; true death is when it is completely forgotten."

I thought they were going to say something.

Low-level philosophy.

"Forgetting is not death, but a new beginning."

The Lancet inequality is the direct solution.

"My mission is not yet complete, Skull."

"So what is your mission?"

"I forgot."

"..."

An unnecessary long open mouth.

By the time Lance had made all the necessary preparations, it was already the third day.

The second layer has been completely finished; the next step is to refine it and fill it with monsters.

Lance considered going to the "Moonlight Labyrinth" to find new employees while also helping Glenn find the so-called sunflower.

If they can successfully remove his curse, then Glenn will have ample time to help investigate the information about the "original Phoenix".

Ideally, this would be an opportunity to gather information about the first Edmund and get that damned white-armored knight to fulfill his promise and act as the boss of the first floor of Lance's labyrinth.

It's important to note that to obtain his "Master of the Labyrinth (Starfall Labyrinth)" talent, you need to defeat Edmund.

...I doubt that stubborn guy will go easy on me.

In the past three days, Lance has leveled up to level 37, and the rate at which he gains experience has visibly slowed down.

The only thing that comforted him was that, while eavesdropping on the labyrinth adventurers' conversation, he overheard their description of the "labyrinth and the Undead King".

Lance has now seemingly piggybacked on Frey's name and is regarded as a deity who governs the underground and does not exist in human culture.

Once the second floor renovation is complete, Edmund has successfully moved in, and public opinion has been building up for a while longer, then it's time to start closing in.

It is said that "the Kru Labyrinth is the trial of the King of Labyrinths, and by passing the trial, one can obtain the King's treasure."

He summoned adventurers from across the continent to challenge him, and then Edmund went on a killing spree while Lance leveled up like crazy.

Besides the labyrinth, Lance has also been learning a lot about the history of this world from Angelica these past few days.

This continent is called "El Continent", and it is divided into three eras in chronological order.

The First Era was the longest, lasting approximately two thousand years. During this time, elves and orcs divided the world, while humans, as the weakest race on the continent, were enslaved or killed by these two races for a long period.

Later, a man named Peter Caesar emerged from among the human slaves. He was guided by three gods and led humanity in a rebellion. After decades of struggle, humanity finally defeated the elves and orcs and established the [Saint Peter's Empire].

According to Angelica, the three gods are: Frey, the god of the sky and storms; Stansor, the god of justice and order; and Tam, the god of time and courage.

Then came the Second Era, led by humans, which lasted for eight hundred years. Finally, at the end of the Second Era, the demons of Naraku invaded the continent of El, and the last emperor, Ben Caesar, died in battle, ending that war. The throne was inherited by his adopted son.

The entire chronicle is actually a history of human resistance. As for the elves and orcs who bullied humans back then, they were almost wiped out by humans during the Second Age.

If it weren't for the demon race's invasion and the entire continent's unity, these two races would probably be completely out of the picture now.

Then the Third Era began.

Lance now has a basic understanding of history from various periods, which is beneficial to his social interactions.

For example, the lich Willy was a human from the Second Age who, due to excessive study of necromancy, eventually became a monster. After being killed by the Imperial Army, he became the ruler of the labyrinth.

If only Edmund could retain his memories after death like Willie.

Thinking of this, Lance sighed silently and raised his hand to open the portal to the Moon Shadow Labyrinth.

Step in.

It was an atmosphere unlike any other labyrinth before; even Lance, an undead, could feel the chill around him.

But... what is this feeling of pleasure?

It was as if a thirsty body had received a burst of energy at that moment.

Could it be that the undead instinctively feel happy in mazes of the great tomb type?

Lance looked around.

"Moonlight Labyrinth" is a typical paradise for the undead, with a vast expanse of tombstones as far as the eye can see.

The soil was much wetter and softer than in the Crucible Maze, like a road surface after rain, with mud splashing up with every step.

A light green mist floated around the maze, slightly obstructing the view, but not seriously.

The scenery is dilapidated and incomplete, with black, withered tree trunks everywhere, giving it a feel of a cemetery in a Western movie.

Lance did not launch any drones this time, so he was unaware of the structure of the Moon Shadow Maze.

But I guess that tombs are generally structured with one burial chamber connected to another – much like the original Crouch's Labyrinth.

However, the number of tombs may not be that many, and judging from the appearance, the space should be extremely large.

Lance tried to walk along the paved paths, though frankly he had no sense of direction.

A familiar creaking sound came from his right. Lance turned his head and saw several skeletons holding swords and shields slowly walking towards him through the pale green haze.

From a distance, their eyes met.

strangeness.

Why do the skeletons in the Moon Shadow Maze seem more composed?

Although both are the lowest-ranking undead monsters, my own skeletons always seem a bit more carefree. Looking at the skeletons in front of me...

—The bones are not white, probably because they have lived in a large tomb for many years. They are yellowish-black and have fine cracks. The expression is not dull, but rather full of shrewdness and composure.

Clearly, Lance is an intruder in the Moonshadow Labyrinth, and monsters will attack him indiscriminately and prioritize his attacks.

Several skeletons, holding shields, slowly advanced towards Lance, appearing very cautious.

If I had to say, compared to my own skeleton, the skeleton here is more like a mature older brother.

There's an old saying that describes this situation.

"Oranges grown south of the Huai River are sweet oranges, but those grown north of the Huai River are bitter oranges."

Lance, of course, showed no mercy, drawing his black sword from his waist and killing the several "Zhi" that charged at him.

Skeletons are just skeletons; these few are only around level 15.

Wait, why are so many citrus fruits surrounding us?!

"I am a friend of your Lord Willie, get out of my way."

As Lance finished speaking, the skeletons that were steadily approaching were all stunned. They scratched their heads with their sword-wielding hands, and then scattered.

A skeleton is a skeleton, and there's no way to tell whether Lance was lying or not.

However, it did save a lot of trouble.

Unless he encounters a monster worth killing, Lance plans to rely solely on talk to explore the future.

Sheathing his sword, Lance relied on his intuition to begin exploring forward.

Adventurers were rarely seen in the entire maze, but many white, unidentified flowers could be seen growing next to the tombstones.

Lance walked for a few minutes, then suddenly stopped.

Ahead was a huge, dark blue-green ancient tomb resembling a yurt, its surface covered with moss.

The most striking feature is its entrance, which resembles the entrance to an Eskimo igloo. The door is shrouded in a layer of gray mist, obscuring the view inside.

Upon seeing the fog gate, all sorts of memories flooded Lance's mind; he was just short of seeing the words "enter the white light."

This is... suddenly the pressure is mounting.
