America 1869: A Doppelganger Every Day
Chapter 56 The Indians, Part 3: America's Last Face
Primitive plunder is bloody and violent.
When they have plundered enough wealth and want to become civilized people, what they need is no longer bloodshed and violence, but rather to glorify their former selves.
This was well demonstrated by everyone at this conference in the United States.
"The unification of America is essential."
"If Native Americans prevent the unification of America, then appropriate bloodshed is inevitable."
"But if the Native Americans are willing to cooperate with the unification of the United States, then I think we can give them a chance."
Once someone spoke up, others followed suit.
"Most of the land in California has already been registered under the name of the United States. The remaining tribes should soon be left with only reservations. This proves that it is feasible in California, and perhaps it can be done in other places as well."
"This Native American prophet is very powerful. He was able to get the Native Americans to leave with him. According to statistics, 3 Native Americans have already left, leaving behind a large area of land. Moreover, this land has been taken into the hands of our white heroes, and it will bring a lot of tax revenue to America in the future. I think we can give other Native Americans a chance."
"The dead Indians were indeed good Indians, but it's better for them to leave. Only when these Indians leave and survive in some corner of the world can we tell everyone that we did not want to exterminate Indians, but that they simply could not adapt to life in America and wanted to live elsewhere."
"That's right, Changsheng Li is right. I don't want my children to see only bloodshed and violence in their textbooks in the future, nor do I want to see fake news that completely buries the truth of history. I hope that one day in the future, my children will be able to see in their textbooks how Americans have been tolerant of Native Americans."
"I agree. We can give the Native Americans a few years to allow the prophet to resolve this issue as much as possible. If, after a few years, the prophet still cannot get all the Native Americans to cede their land, then we can take the final step to complete the unification of the entire United States."
"If the problem can be solved peacefully, then we Americans will never choose bloodshed and violence. This is an attitude we must show others."
"The whole world is watching America. We Americans are a free, equal, and civilized country, not a barbaric primitive tribe. Since the Native Americans are willing to resolve everything peacefully, then we will give them that opportunity."
"Only if some scattered Native Americans are found in some corner of the world in the future can it be proven that the United States did not persecute them, but that they left of their own volition."
"That's right. We need to ensure that these departing Native Americans can at least reach an island or a continent alive, leaving behind evidence of their existence and traces of their lives."
"I agree that after the white heroes make a pact with that prophet, they must guarantee the survival of these Native Americans, and they must let everyone see me. America is a peaceful country."
Almost all members agreed on this issue.
Soon after, major American newspapers reported on the conference.
Meanwhile, a new peace bill spread throughout the United States.
Anyone with a brain would understand at this point what the higher-ups' choice was for.
Since Native Americans are already on the verge of extinction, those few hundred thousand have no impact on America.
Moreover, since the Native Americans are leaving now, they will no longer pose any threat to America.
In this situation, ensuring the safety of Native Americans and sending them away would be politically correct.
At the same time, it can leave behind a good reputation.
Therefore, states with Native American tribes restricted white people who wanted to hunt Native Americans, and some places even sent people to protect Native Americans.
Following these events, Li Changsheng's Chinese American Daily News immediately reported on the matter.
Other newspapers followed suit.
All the newspapers were reporting on America's humanitarianism, peace, freedom, and equality.
In this situation, the prophet did not remain idle, but continued to travel to different tribes.
He carried tokens from other tribes and letters from their chiefs, visiting each tribe one by one, and then made them hand over the fertile lands outside. Some of them left with him, while others remained in the reservations.
At first, it was slow for the prophet to reach these tribes, but it became much faster when the whole country was involved in the effort.
Some people carried the prophet on bicycles, some drove him around in cars, some rode him on horseback, and some even took him by train to the corresponding tribes.
After seeing the tokens and letters from other tribes, most tribes acknowledged the existence of the prophet and cooperated with his actions.
After all, they knew their own situation; staying meant certain death, while leaving might offer a chance.
The states that were willing to leave would arrange for people to put them on the Pacific Railroad and take them directly to California.
Then we left by boat from California.
When each state does this, they report it extensively, leaving behind newspapers and other information to demonstrate their humanitarian concern and commitment to peace and equality.
Among them were several tribes that were unwilling to leave; these were large tribes with tens of thousands of members.
At this point, Li Changsheng would speak privately with the leaders of these tribes and then summon a new prophet.
Faced with the sudden appearance of the new prophet, the leaders of these large tribes all knelt down and worshipped him.
So originally there was only one prophet, then two, then three, and finally five.
By this time, Li Changsheng had already visited all the major Native American tribes.
The remaining small tribes will be dealt with by the five prophets individually in the shortest possible time.
After the prophet traveled throughout America, all the Native American tribes returned to their reservations, leaving behind a total Native American population of no more than 10.
According to statistics, more than 40 people have left.
Of the five prophets who left, four remained in America and became the leader of the American Indian Union.
He was responsible for managing the Native Americans and also for liaising with the United States.
To demonstrate America's commitment to freedom and equality, as well as its humanitarian spirit, the last prophet received high praise and an American reward.
They even deliberately waited for the Prophet to come out and put on a show, under the spotlight of countless media outlets, to turn a piece of land that was reserved for the Prophet into his permanent land, where no taxes would be levied and it would belong entirely to the Prophet.
This is not a loss for America; in fact, it leaves them with a good reputation.
But they didn't know that their actions had caught Li Changsheng's eye.
