Chapter 21 The Truth Behind the Assault Case

After discussing the entire case with Issho Takahashi, Kensuke Komikado walked out of the interrogation room.

Inside the lobby.

Conan and Inspector Megure have both left.

Kensuke Komikado made a simple registration and then left the Beika Police Station.

Takahashi Issho's case is complex in some ways, but simple in others.

Takahashi Issho's motive for committing the crime was clear: during the peak of his career, he was slandered by Kataoka Yumi, which led to his imprisonment, interruption of his career, and destruction of his reputation.

So, believing that his life was over, he wanted to die together with Kataoka Yumi.

They planned this premeditated murder.

However, due to Takahashi Issho's cowardice, he ran away the moment he saw Kataoka Yumi faint, resulting in the fact that Kataoka Yumi was only unconscious.

Besides.

Kensuke Komikado also asked how Takahashi Issho was previously slandered.

According to Kazuo Takahashi, many fans were very enthusiastic at the manga signing event, especially Yumi Kataoka.

Kataoka Yumi told him that the other person was a huge fan of his.

So the two of them stayed until the very end at the autograph session at the comic convention.

Kataoka Yumi, taking advantage of her status as a fan, invited Takahashi Issho to her hotel room to chat about her creative process and the inspiration behind her ongoing manga series.

Takahashi Kazuo thought that since Kataoka Yumi was a fan of his, and this was in the hotel where the autograph session was being held, nothing would happen.

Unexpectedly, Kataoka Yumi took the initiative to have a relationship with him and even asked him to change the ending and plot of the manga.

Takahashi Kazuo clearly could not accept that the plot and ending of his manga had been changed, and directly rejected Kataoka Yumi.

However, Kataoka Yumi tore her own clothes and screamed in the hotel room that she had been violated.

He even rushed into the hotel corridor, allowing many people to witness what happened.

Then the police officers arrived, and he was forcibly charged with rape.

Case filing, investigation, trial—

The final result was a two-year prison sentence.

It has to be said that what Takahashi Issho experienced was too outrageous.

He was convicted of rape even though no actual sexual intercourse occurred.

As expected, Tokyo's laws are still a preliminary version.

.....

Outside the Beika Police Station, Kensuke Komikado asked Haru Yamagami to come pick him up and go to the District Public Prosecutor's Office together.

But when he saw Yamagami Haru, dressed in a pure and cute style, wearing a pink helmet and riding a black scooter, Komikado Kensuke smiled slightly.

"You're going to use this to pick up your boss?"

Haru Yamagami's expression visibly panicked: "Kumikado-senpai, this is the only motorcycle I have... I'm sorry, I'll do it next time..."

"It's okay, you don't need to be so nervous. I was just asking casually."

"Did you bring me a helmet?"

"Yes, Komikado-senpai."

Haru Yamagami took a black helmet out of his backpack and handed it to Kensuke Komikado with both hands.

Kensuke Komikado put on his helmet and sat in the driver's seat, letting Haru Yamagami sit in the back seat.

At this time of day in Tokyo, there are still many small motorcycles used for daily commuting to work.

Kensuke Komikado was a skilled rider, and soon he brought Haru Yamagami to the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office.

"Komikado-senpai, what are we doing here?"

"Takahashi Issho's previous crime file is stored here. Come and take a look at the file."

Kensuke Komikado parked his motorcycle in the designated parking area and then went with Haru Yamagami into the District Public Prosecutor's Office to review the case file concerning Issho Takahashi's rape case.

After learning about the relevant information, he took Yamagami Haru back to the law firm.

"Kumikado-senpai..."

"What kind of defense will we be providing in Takahashi Issho's case?"

"Not guilty plea".

"Do you need me to prepare any materials?"

After Kensuke Komikado represented Yamagami in his case, Yamagami Haru developed an extraordinary admiration for Komikado's courtroom skills.

Although she knew that it would be difficult for Takahashi Issho to be acquitted in this case.

However, still trusting in Kensuke Komikado's abilities, she proactively asked if they needed to prepare any materials.

Kensuke Komikado smiled and shook his head: "No need."

"However, you might need to make a sacrifice for yourself."

"I...?"

"Sacrifice yourself..."

"Kumikado-senpai, what do you mean by that...?"

Yamagami Haru looked at Komikado Kensuke with a puzzled expression.

Kensuke Komikado realized that Haru Yamagami had misunderstood him, so he explained.

"Sacrificing yourself means that you have to make certain sacrifices for this case."

"Give me... your body?"

"?"

Looking at the serious-looking Yamagami Haru, Komikado Kensuke rubbed his temples: "Of course not."

Yamagami Haru's tense face relaxed considerably, and her tone became much lighter.

"Komikado-senpai, just say the word. I'll do anything that's within my power."

"You know Kataoka Yumi, right? She's the girl who slandered Takahashi Issei."

"I need you to investigate Kataoka Yumi's recent whereabouts, or try to arrange a meeting with her. Her contact information is also welcome."

"Kumikado-senpai, I understand. I will do my best to handle this matter," Yamagami Haru assured him.

Wait until Shan Shangqing leaves the law firm.

Kensuke Komikado scrolled through his contacts, his gaze lingering on Kawako Iwato's number.

"Komikado-kun, is there something you need from me?"

In her office, Kawako lay slightly back in her chair, her straight, fair legs stretched out and crossed, and a crisp sound reached Kensuke Komikado's ears.

Kensuke Komikado smiled and said, "I recently took on a case with explosive potential."

"I'd like to ask Ms. Kawako if she needs it."

"Since it's something that Komekado mentioned that's explosive, I'll listen to it whether I need it or not."

Kensuke Komikado gave a brief explanation of the case involving Issho Takahashi.

After listening, Kawako Peninsula smiled and said, "This is a case with explosive potential."

After speaking, Kawako paused for a moment, then continued.

"Komikado-kun, you've helped me twice already."

"Thanks."

Kensuke Komikado: "Ms. Kawako, you're welcome. If you really want to thank me, you can promote my law firm."

Kawako Peninsula: "Understood, Komekado-kun."

"Komikado-kun, what's your favorite flavor of sushi?"

"Light and fresh flavor".

After hanging up the phone, Kawako Iwato stood up, left her private office, and spoke with her subordinates about the Takahashi Ichikyo case, asking them to look into it first.

Then, he thought about it again and realized that Komekado-kun liked sushi with a light and fresh flavor.

What ingredients are needed to make a light and fresh flavor...?

.....

Meanwhile, Yamagami Haru also learned about Kataoka Yumi's contact information and schedule.

Kensuke Komikado was notified by phone.

"Kumikado-senpai, I've found Kataoka Yumi. She's eating alone right now."
