Chapter 11 Patrol Team
Both of them are already awake! He doesn't have time! He has to finish this quickly!
Rosen's eyes flashed with a cold light, and he leaped up, aiming to kill the upper bunk first!
The guard on the upper bunk had just propped himself up halfway, still half asleep and not yet able to see what was happening, when he saw a dark figure in his comrade's uniform lunge at him.
He opened his mouth to scream, but Rosen's dagger grazed his neck, severing his carotid artery and trachea. Hot blood gushed out, splattering everywhere on the bed, and the man died instantly.
This series of commotions finally woke up the last guard. He was now fully seated. He wasn't stupid. Although he didn't know why his comrades had suddenly killed so many people, he wasn't going to sit idly by and wait to die.
He cried out in alarm, and at the same time, his hand quickly reached for the pistol under the pillow.
"enemy--!"
As Rosen killed the guard on the upper bunk, he had already drawn his Glock 17 from his lower back with his other hand. He didn't even aim properly; he just pulled the trigger by feel, pointing downwards!
puff!
A dull gunshot, seemingly silenced, rang out.
The bullet pierced the last guard's forehead, causing his body to arch backward violently, slamming against the wall before sliding down, his fingers not even touching the gun handle.
Silence returned. The room reeked of blood. Rosen stood there, gun in hand, his breathing heavy. In just a few seconds, four people were killed in the cramped dormitory.
Rosen didn't dare to delay for a moment. He quickly dragged all four corpses into the small bathroom attached to the room, piled them all together, and then used a mop to temporarily block the door.
After doing all this, he glanced at his watch.
According to intelligence, the shift change is at 8:00 AM, and it is currently around 4:20 AM.
That means he has less than four hours left!
Moreover, the corpse of that "big bear" in the toilet could be discovered at any time by other people using the toilet, thus exposing his whereabouts!
He had to get the ledgers before the full alarm was raised!
After removing the blood-stained gloves, Rosen rinsed his hands under the tap in the dormitory bathroom to wash away the bloodstains.
After washing up, he took out a new pair of black gloves from his pocket and put them on. He gently turned his neck to relax his shoulder and neck muscles, then walked to the wardrobe in the corner of the room. Sure enough, he found a spare guard uniform inside.
He quickly took off his old guard uniform, which was stained with splattered blood; after all, even bloodstains could be a clue.
He also put the small wooden box containing the three bodies into his backpack.
After stuffing his blood-stained clothes back into the wardrobe, Rosen checked his equipment and condition one last time, then gently pushed open the door to dormitory 061, slipped out, and closed the door behind him.
Standing in the corridor, he discreetly scanned the ceiling. Every five meters or so, there was a hemispherical surveillance camera, providing comprehensive coverage so that nothing unusual could be detected.
Rosen walked naturally toward the depths of the corridor, and surprisingly, he didn't encounter anyone else along the way, which put his mind at ease.
It seems that the information provided by the employer was accurate, at least in terms of the fact that "internal security is relatively lax at night," which gave him more confidence in the next operation.
As he walked, he mentally reassessed the mission. The outer defenses were extremely strong, and the infiltration process was fraught with danger; it was probably as difficult as a Level 6 mission.
However, the fact that the Hell's Thorn platform has set it at level five and already released it indicates that the information provided by the employer is extremely valuable and can effectively reduce the difficulty of the mission.
If only we had a small squad...
The thought flashed through Rosen's mind uncontrollably.
These people don't need to be particularly strong. As long as they have basic tactical skills and can follow orders, even if there are only three or four of them, he can lead them to formulate a plan and coordinate with each other. He is even confident that he can wipe out the factory with zero casualties!
Especially for level 6 and above tasks, they are no longer tasks that an individual can complete. If any step goes wrong, it could lead to utter ruin.
Before he knew it, he had reached the end of the long corridor. In front of him was a staircase leading to the second floor, with a white "2F" sign at the top.
The management office was on the second floor, and the goal was within reach. Rosen's spirits lifted, and he quickened his pace, taking three steps at a time to climb the stairs.
Upon reaching the second floor, the environment changed noticeably. Not only were the corridors wider, but they were also filled with metal rooms, each with a number and simple signage on the door. There were operating rooms, storage rooms, and some rather puzzling rooms.
The air even carried a faint smell of blood and disinfectant. Rosen moved close to the wall, his eyes discreetly scanning the doorplates, searching for the manager's office mentioned in the employer's intelligence.
Suddenly, a series of chaotic footsteps came from around the corner ahead. The sound grew clearer and clearer, heading towards the main corridor where he was. Judging from the noise, there were at least five or six people.
Rosen felt a chill run down his spine and quickly scanned his surroundings. Although the corridor on the second floor was spacious, apart from the tightly closed doors, there were almost no recesses or large furnishings to hide in.
There was no time to turn back to the stairwell; in fact, it would only arouse more suspicion. In a flash, Rosen made his decision.
He took a deep breath, adjusted his facial expression, and then surprisingly stepped out of the shadows, boldly heading towards the direction from which the footsteps were coming!
Just a few steps later, a patrol of six fully armed guards appeared around the corner, led by a tall, burly man.
The burly man leading the group, Vincent, almost reflexively raised his assault rifle, pointed it at Rosen, and shouted sharply, "Who?! Halt!"
Name: Vincent
[Level: Quasi-Elite Unit]
The five teammates behind him reacted just as quickly, raising their guns in unison, the dark muzzles all aimed at Rosen.
Pointed at by six assault rifles, Rosen stopped, raising his hands obediently above his head, but with a helpless expression that said, "Don't mess around, we're all on the same side," and shouted at the top of his lungs:
"Hey! Hey! Bro! Relax! We're on the same side! I'm Old Wolf from Dorm C! Our boss just told us to send someone from our dorm to collect the ID tags of the guys on duty tonight and deliver them to him. He said he needs to verify something."
As he spoke, he slightly shook his raised hands, but his posture was not tense. One leg was even slightly bent, with the toes touching the ground, which made him look casual and even a bit nonchalant, perfectly matching the displeasure of a low-level guard who had been temporarily woken up from bed to run errands.
Vincent didn't immediately put down his gun. He frowned and looked Rosen up and down. Seeing that the other man was wearing a guard uniform and had his ID tag hanging on his chest, there was nothing suspicious about him.
But he was certain that he didn't have a deep impression of this guy who called himself "Old Wolf," but that was normal. There were quite a few guards at the factory, and they worked in shifts. He wasn't familiar with everyone.

The troubles of experts vs. my troubles
A guru's dilemma: Which company sold the copyright to? What to do about paying too much tax this month?
My dilemma: Should I eat this bag of instant noodles dry or soak it in hot water? Soaking it in hot water makes me feel bloated, but it can last all day.
