Don't move, it's a robbery!
Chapter 57 The Great Adventure in the Tomb
Reggie, who had just woken up, was a little confused. She blinked in confusion, then waved her hand in front of her eyes. Then, as if she had discovered something terrible, she screamed in terror.
"Aaaaaah! I can't see! I'm blind!"
"Don't yell, you're not blind! I just checked, your eyes are perfectly fine."
"But all I could see was darkness."
"Nonsense, we're in a tomb now, and I haven't lit any torches, so it's going to be pitch black."
Reggie breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing that she wasn't blind, but she quickly became nervous again.
"A tomb? Why am I in a tomb? Am I dead?! Aaaaaaaah!!!"
"Stop yelling! You're not dead! You were brought here by kidnappers. Don't you remember what happened before you lost consciousness?"
Upon hearing my words, Reggie finally realized what I meant, but then she screamed again.
"Oh no! Oh no! Little Sister has been killed!"
"Thump!"
"it hurts!"
"It's supposed to hurt, that's for sure. You're talking nonsense. The little one isn't dead, I saved him, and he's lying right next to you now."
I covered my ear with one hand and gave Reggie a hard whack with the other. Her two screams almost pierced my eardrums. Reggie rubbed her head, looked aggrieved, and reached to the side. She quickly found an arm and breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank goodness, Little Sister is alright. She got hurt protecting me. I don't know what I would have done if something had happened to her... Wait, why do Little Sister's hands feel bigger? And why are they so cold?"
"Because you touched the wrong thing. This is a dead man's hand. I brought it here for you two to use as a cushion."
"Aaaaaaahhhhh!!"
"Thump!"
"Waaaaah~ It hurts! Why did you hit me again?"
"Can you please stop yelling? It's just a dead man, what's there to be afraid of? There are many monsters in this tomb, if you keep yelling you'll attract them."
"!!!"
Reggie almost screamed again, but this time I didn't have to do anything; she covered her mouth first.
He's alright. Although he's a bit timid, he's not a complete failure.
I was very satisfied, and then I took out a night vision pill and handed it to her.
"That's right, come on, eat this."
"What is this? Hey! I can see it now!"
Reggie smiled, then turned to look around. Then she saw Mr. Tai, whose limbs were broken and half his face was missing.
Despite the previous frights, Reggie has matured quickly. Faced with Mr. Tai's creepy appearance, she didn't utter a sound... Oh, she fainted.
"Wake up, wake up! Don't sleep!"
I shook Reggie again and finally managed to wake her up.
When Reggie woke up this time, she hugged me tightly without saying a word, looking like she was still in shock.
"Waaaaah! Ah! Brother Thief, I just had a nightmare! I dreamt we ran into a tomb, and there were monsters around!"
"Uh, you're not dreaming, it's all real. Hey! Why are you passing out again! Your sleep quality is amazing! Wake up!"
After I shook Reggie awake for the third time, she finally seemed much more normal. Although she was still trembling and clung tightly to my leg, she had finally stopped screaming and fainting.
Overall, there has been progress.
The little one remained unconscious; it seemed the previous hemorrhage had quite a severe effect on her. I had no choice but to carry her for now. Similarly, I didn't abandon Mr. Tai; instead, I dragged him along with me.
What? You're asking why I brought him down with me? Of course, he's there as bait and a human shield!
For example, here at the stairs, in this pitch-black tunnel, there are obviously many traps and mechanisms. I need someone to help me scout the way and see if there are any traps or anything like that.
Mr. Tai refused my arrangement, not because he dared to disobey me, but mainly because all the bones in his limbs were broken, and he couldn't move even if he wanted to. But that's not a problem. As 'West Copper' once said, once you give up, there's always a way.
I laid Mr. Tai flat on the ground, then wrapped his left leg around his right shoulder and his right leg around his left shoulder, then bent his body and tied his hands together in the middle, and a Tai ball was born!
Although Mr. Tai kept crying and begging for mercy, unfortunately, just as he didn't care much about other people's lives, I didn't care much about his wishes either. Once the "Tay Ball" was formed, I kicked it directly down the stairs.
Then the sounds of countless traps being activated came from inside the tunnel.
Once everything had calmed down, I took Reggie and Little One downstairs.
It must be said that Mr. Tai was a real tough guy. During the fall, he was shot with seven arrows, stabbed twice with needles, and even pierced through the heart by a mechanical long-haired needle, but he never uttered a sound until he died.
Look at their awareness!
The second basement level was still pitch black, and the air was very stuffy. Moreover, I don't know if it was just my imagination, but I always felt that something was watching me from all around, which made me very uncomfortable.
"Hey! Where's that jerk who was yelling just now? I'm down here! Come out here!"
I yelled at the darkness, which startled Reggie so much that she shook my clothes.
"Brother Thief, didn't you say that shouting would attract monsters?"
"Yeah, it will attract monsters."
"Then why are you still shouting?"
"Nonsense, how would I know where they're hiding if I don't lure them out?"
Hearing my words, Reggie felt like she was about to cry.
That expression really annoyed me; it was questioning my abilities! It meant I was no match for the monster!
As a renowned chivalrous thief, I can embarrass myself in private, I can make a fool of myself, but I can't be told that I lack ability!
Before I could say anything, I heard a series of hurried footsteps ahead. I looked up and saw five corpses carrying weapons approaching me. These corpses had obviously been buried for a long time; they were all desiccated, and some had even become mummified.
Clearly, these are living corpses.
The undead are a very common type of necromancer monster. Most undead are created by necromancers, while a few are formed naturally. Regardless of the type, undead are not particularly powerful enemies and can generally only be defeated by sheer numbers.
They are not very strong and are quite slow; even an ordinary farmer could contend with them.
But these few in front of us were clearly an exception. Not only were they wearing armor, but they were also jogging along. They were not sluggish at all; their movements were so agile that they didn't seem like people who had been dead for decades.
Of course, their strength is not enough to make them my opponent, not to mention that their armor has long been rotten over time and their weapons are broken and incomplete.
If I wanted to, I could kill them one by one with just the three-star staff, even without the Rabbit Knife.
If there are no extra burdens.
By this time, Reggie was terrified, screaming and clinging tightly to my leg; the little one was still unconscious, and I had to free one hand to hold her. Fighting five fully armed monsters with only one leg and one arm was still a bit of a struggle.
So I left the two of them behind and ran off to the side all by myself.
"Huh? Brother Thief? Huh!?"
(꒪Д꒪)ノ: "Holy crap! You're really inhuman!"
Forget Reggie and "West Copper," even the five zombies were bewildered by me. They first looked at me, then at the two delicate little girls, and decisively chose to pick on the weakest one first.
Then they turned their backs to me.
"Bunny Knife! Transform!"
I reassembled the scythe, and the red scythe began to dance, like a blood moon in the sky. The flowing blade light easily sliced through the zombies' defenses, tore apart their armor, and shattered their shields.
With just one sprint, I cleaved two zombies in two pieces and also severed the arm of another zombie.
The undead are just dead people; they have no fear. Even the tragic death of their companions cannot make them retreat. When I approached them, they also drew their weapons against me.
But it's too late to take action now.
I spun the scythe, strolling leisurely like the Grim Reaper, the blade drawing an arc in the air before falling sharply and severing their heads.
With their bodies crashing to the ground, the dead returned to peace.
Reggie stood there dumbfounded, and as I approached her, she couldn't help but swallow hard.
"Reggie, are you very scared?"
Upon hearing my question, Reggie nodded subconsciously at first, but then she quickly realized something and shook her head repeatedly. At the same time, she reached out and grabbed my trouser leg, beginning to plead desperately.
"I...I'm not afraid, please don't leave me! I won't scream anymore! I promise I won't scream again! I swear I won't be afraid anymore, please don't leave me!"
I couldn't help but roll my eyes; this girl was clearly thinking of breaking up again.
I picked her up and took her to the zombie's body.
"Are you afraid of it? Don't give me that crap, just tell me honestly, are you afraid of it or not?"
Reggie nodded, looking aggrieved.
"Now, kick it, aim for its butt. This guy's only wearing a breastplate, no leg armor."
"I...I dare not."
"Hurry up and kick it, either you kick its butt, or I'll kick your butt."
Reggie swallowed again, then shakily and gently touched the zombie's buttocks.
I couldn't help but sigh, and then I kicked Reggie's little butt.
"Aww!!"
"Here, I'll give you one more chance. Either I kick you, or you kick it!"
"Waaah, I'm too scared."
I kicked her little bottom again. Although I didn't kick hard, Reggie still covered her bottom and jumped really high on the spot.
"pain!"
"So you know what pain is, huh? I thought you enjoyed getting your butt kicked. Here, I'll give you one more chance. Either I kick you, or you kick it!"
Reggie dared not hold back this time and immediately kicked the zombie in the buttocks.
"How do you feel?"
"My feet hurt..."
"I'm asking if you're still afraid."
"It's still a bit..."
"Then kick it again! This time, don't just kick it, kick it hard!"
Reggie kicked him again.
Are you still afraid?
"There is still some."
"Then kick it again, kick it hard! Before you kick it, think about what you hate, despise, and are most angry about, and then kick it as hard as you can!"
Reggie mustered all her strength and kicked the zombie hard in the buttocks. Although it still didn't seem very strong to me, it was obviously much better than before.
Are you still scared now?
"I'm not so scared anymore, but it's dead now. If it were alive, I'd still be scared, wouldn't I?"
I nodded, squatted down, and looked directly into Reggie's eyes.
"That's simple. Just kill them, and you won't have anything to be afraid of."
