Vittorio watched as the water rose steadily, already reaching above his legs, and knew that the entire area would be submerged in just a few minutes.

It's time to make a decision.

"You wait for me here."

Vittorio quickly said something to Eileen, then took a deep breath and plunged into the water.

He first looked back in the direction they had come from, but there was no way they could get back there. The tunnel was completely submerged, unless they could swim back without taking a breath for a long time.

That's impossible; they'll most likely run out of oxygen and suffocate halfway there.

He then swam deeper into the cave, to what seemed to be the end of no path.

He prayed that there might be a glimmer of hope.

Fortunately, at the bottom of the cave, he found a small entrance that could accommodate three or four people side by side.

Vittorio opened the system underwater and carefully examined the three-dimensional miniature model in front of him.

At this point, the model was no longer just the castle on the ground floor, but also included a model of an underground cave. As soon as he finished exploring the cave, the system generated a corresponding real-time update.

At this moment, he focused his attention and manipulated the cave model from side to side. He could see that the exit in front of him was a thin and long pipe, which clearly had an exit, but the exit was shrouded in mist, and he did not know where it led.

[Underground cave passages: leading to unknown areas, perhaps with mysterious discoveries.]

A journey to an unknown territory means there is an exit!

With the system backing him up, Vittorio felt reassured and immediately shut down the system, diving to the surface.

At this point, the entire cave was almost completely submerged, leaving only an empty cavity. Although some oxygen could still be stored here, it was only a matter of time before the oxygen ran out.

Eileen, who remained above, was left with only half her body. Because of her short stature, she couldn't even stand on the ground and could only float on the water.

Vittorio could only be thankful that they both knew how to swim.

When Vittorio emerged, Eileen tried to remain calm, but her slightly trembling shoulders betrayed her.

"How's it going? Have you found the exit?"

"Found it, but it might take a while to catch your breath. You absolutely cannot turn back. Can you do that?"

"Yes." Eileen nodded firmly.

Vittorio was about to take a deep breath when Eileen stopped him.

Under Vittorio's puzzled gaze, Eileen took a deep breath, slowly calmed herself down, and then...

"peaceful."

So that's how it is. Heart rate and level of tension also greatly affect the length of time you can hold your breath underwater. This is the right thing to do.

With the application of the calming spell, Vittorio felt much calmer.

The two then looked at each other, took a deep breath with all their might, and then submerged into the water.

Vittorio led Eileen into the unknown passage. The passage was dark, but there were no forks in the road; they could only grope their way forward.

The passage wasn't long, but it seemed exceptionally long because the two of them didn't know what lay ahead.

About two minutes later, the two of them couldn't hold back any longer when a glimmer of light suddenly appeared ahead.

Vittorio's eyes lit up, and he swam vigorously toward the light. After a while, with a soft splash, a head popped out of the pool, followed by another.

Vittorio took deep breaths of fresh air on the surface of the water.

He never realized how precious oxygen was until he experienced that tense and exciting underwater crisis. Suddenly, he felt that it was wonderful to be able to breathe oxygen!

Eileen had a similar feeling, and the two of them floated on the water for a moment, silent.

After a long pause, Vittorio spoke first.

"Where am I? After running for so long and swimming for half a day, we still haven't reached the exit. We must be quite far from River Bend Fort by now."

Eileen didn't reply, but finally found the mood to look up and quietly admire the scenery of the cave.

Unlike the narrow caves we had seen before, this was a huge hollow, like a giant egg.

At the top of this "giant egg," unknown plants hang, emitting a faint blue-green glow in the dim cave, slightly illuminating the cave.

"A plant I've never seen before..." Eileen exclaimed involuntarily.

Vittorio followed her gaze.

At this moment, if someone were to hang upside down from the top of the "giant egg" and look down, they would see the two of them as two ants floating on the surface of a lake.

As the two of them marveled at the beauty of the cave, neither of them noticed that in the not-so-small pool of water beneath them, a huge fish shadow flashed by, its head emitting a faint glow.

"Let's get ashore first. I have a feeling this place isn't as simple as it seems," Vittorio suggested.

The two swam to shore and sat down on the bank.

Just as the two stepped ashore, a long cry suddenly came from the bottom of the lake. A large fish, about ten meters long, completely black except for two whiskers on its head with two shimmering fleshy orbs hanging from them, suddenly leaped out of the water, creating a huge splash.

Vittorio, standing on the shore, was startled and took a step back, unconsciously uttering a curse.

The fish appeared for only a moment before diving back into the water, leaving only a huge shadow on the surface. The two people on the shore were still shaken.

"I knew it wouldn't be that simple here."

Vittorio lost interest in admiring the scenery and stood up to check the situation on the shore.

Upon closer inspection, he indeed saw many strange things.

First of all, this is not a cave without any trace of human habitation. Not long after he got up and looked around, he discovered a row of fences in a corner not far away.

He initially thought it would contain domesticated cattle or sheep, but upon closer inspection, he was truly shocked.

The sheep closest to us bent its two legs to make a heart shape. Its fur wasn't jet black or snow white, but rather seven different colors from head to toe, as if some ignorant child had covered it up and dyed it.

The sheep next to him was even more bizarre, with three heads: the one on the left was grazing, the one on the right was cross-eyed, and the one in the middle was staring at Vittorio and spitting.

However, because the cross-eyed one next to him was affecting the performance of the middle head, he suddenly spat on the left head. This caused quite a stir, and the left, middle, and right heads of the three sheep started arguing with each other.

And this cow next to it, it has a head in the front and a head in the back, as if someone split the cow in two and then put the buttocks back together and the heads back together.

It's hard not to suspect that it lacks excretory organs.

In addition, there are pigs with seven legs, headless chickens, and all sorts of common livestock, but they have all been transformed into strange and bizarre shapes.

Vittorio initially felt a bit nauseous at the sight before him, but after watching for a while, he became somewhat numb. The sight of these animals docilely grazing with their heads down, without a trace of aggression, even made Vittorio feel a strange urge to laugh.

Eileen also stepped forward, looking at the deformed animals with pity in her eyes.

"Without a doubt, this is the work of the 'Abundance School'."

As she spoke, she handed a thin sheet of paper to Vittorio.

"This thing is strange. I just found it on that table over there. You should take a look."
