The anti-American vanguard starts in Mexico!
Chapter 21 I acted impulsively just now.
Malcolm stared at the two grenades, veins throbbing on his forehead, but he didn't dare utter a sound.
The two bodyguards beside him still had their hands on the guns at their waists, but neither dared to draw them; both were pale-faced.
At such close range, if a grenade were to explode, no one would escape unscathed.
Qi Yun didn't say anything more, just stared at Malcolm.
one second.
two seconds.
three seconds.
"You win," Malcolm said through gritted teeth.
He turned to look at his two subordinates, his gaze chilling.
The two bodyguards were sweating profusely from his gaze and swallowed hard.
They clearly searched me before I entered the house!
How could that policeman possibly be hiding a grenade on him?
But he dared not say that now; Malcolm's eyes looked like he wanted to devour them alive.
In fact, Qi Yun herself was also nervous.
His palms were sweaty, but his face remained perfectly calm.
If we can't intimidate them, then we'll have no choice but to pull out our guns and fight.
That's just how reality is; it's impossible for everything to be risk-free and for things to develop exactly as we envision.
Fate always arranges for all sorts of unexpected events to occur.
Caution is an essential principle, but decisiveness is also indispensable in critical moments.
Fortunately, Malcolm eventually backed down, and things got back on track.
"Why didn't you do this sooner?"
Qi Yun put the unpinned grenade back into his pocket, keeping his hand inside, and continued to put pressure on the other party.
"I told you, I'm here to discuss cooperation, not to fight to the death; we have no grudges against each other, there's no need to act like enemies."
He stopped using words to provoke the other person and even offered a way out to ease the tension.
If we really want to do this, we should wait until we've used it all up.
"Okay, I acted impulsively just now." Malcolm was a smart man and knew how to advance and retreat.
He gestured with his chin toward his two men, who, as if granted a pardon, lowered their hands from their waists and retreated to the back.
"To be honest, I'm not targeting you personally, but I was once tricked by the police and almost lost my life."
Malcolm picked up his glass again, tilted his head back and downed it in one gulp to ease his tension. "So, it's hard for me to trust you when you suddenly come to me talking about cooperation."
Qi Yun nodded slightly: "Trust is built up gradually. Now I can tell you another piece of news."
"The people who ambushed you from behind during your fight with the Cripples in San Martin Place last week were from the police action team."
"Antonio has long been in cahoots with Harris of the police action team. If you continue to choose to go it alone, you will be gradually devoured by them."
Upon hearing this, Malcolm's pupils contracted sharply.
Are you sure?
"Verifying this information shouldn't be too difficult; you should be able to do it." Qi Yun leaned back and continued, "Tomorrow I will be taking over as the sheriff of the Fourth Avenue checkpoint, and this area will be under my jurisdiction from now on."
"I'm determined to take down the Crippled Gang. If you're not willing to cooperate with me, then I'll have to talk to someone else."
"But by then, you probably won't have much to do with the southern territory."
Malcolm listened attentively, and this time he did not refuse immediately, but fell silent.
A dozen seconds later, he looked up, frowned, and asked, "How do you expect me to cooperate? Besides... you're just a lowly checkpoint sheriff, how much power can you mobilize?"
As soon as he finished speaking, he subconsciously glanced at Qi Yun's right hand hidden in his jacket pocket, his face twitched, and he quickly added, "Don't misunderstand, I don't mean to look down on you."
"But before we can cooperate, I need to assess your capabilities, which I believe you can understand."
Qi Yun took in all of the other party's subtle movements.
No matter how ruthless you are, everyone is equal before a grenade; even a gang leader has to give way.
"Your men should have reported the situation outside to you. Those people are from the police department's rapid response team; they only take orders from the chief."
Do you understand what I'm saying?
Malcolm understood. His eyes flickered as he re-examined the Asian police officer in front of him.
He might not care about the limited firepower of a checkpoint; but it's different for a branch office, which has a lot of manpower.
Moreover, if this guy represents the police chief, then it's not just a matter for one branch office.
In the event of a large-scale firefight, they can call for backup, such as the city headquarters or federal forces...
With his own Black Panther Gang, he was fully capable of crippling the Crippled Gang.
All of the above factors led him to seriously consider the cooperation proposed by Qi Yun.
"I heard the Vanderbilt gang is offering a bounty on an Asian police officer. Could that be you?" Malcolm suddenly asked a seemingly unrelated question.
"It's me," Qi Yun readily admitted. "After dealing with the Crippled Gang, my next target is the Van der Gang. If you're interested, we can continue our cooperation."
"Then the Florida district will become your territory, and even the whole of Tijuana!"
If a simple-minded black man heard this, he might instantly get excited and want to do something big.
But Malcolm is a seasoned veteran, and naturally he won't be blinded by such a pie in the sky.
However, cooperating to deal with the Crippled Gang is indeed a viable option at present.
He stared at Qi Yun for a few seconds, then picked up his wine glass: "OK, you've successfully convinced me. The cooperation is no problem."
"What are the specific plans?"
Having received a satisfactory answer, Qi Yun breathed a sigh of relief, and the plan had successfully moved forward another step.
He took out his right hand and pulled his phone out of his pocket: "Let's exchange contact information first, and I'll call you later to discuss the specifics of the operation."
"But there's one thing we can do immediately: have your men spread the word that the robbery of the Crippled Gang's goods was pinned on the Vander Gang. They're not sure who did it yet..."
Malcolm took the phone, paused for a moment as he typed in the number, and a sinister smile appeared on his face: "A despicable plan, but I like it."
After entering his number, Malcolm returned the phone to Qi Yun, and the cooperation was officially established.
"By the way, I heard you have connections with the Blood Gang in America?" Qi Yun asked a seemingly unrelated question.
Malcolm's smile froze. He neither admitted nor denied it: "Why are you asking this?"
"It's nothing, just asking casually." Qi Yun shrugged, putting his phone back in his pocket. "Perhaps we can collaborate on a bigger business deal in the future."
Without waiting for Malcolm's response, he pushed open the door and walked out.
Razor followed behind him.
Stepping out of the iron gate in the back alley, Razor, whose muscles had been tense, finally relaxed.
"Boss, you almost scared the pants off when you pulled out that grenade."
"How exactly did you manage to get past those two bodyguards and get searched?" Razor asked curiously.
Qi Yun feigned mystery: "Guess?"
He couldn't answer that question; he could only leave it to Razor to fill in the blanks...
Navarro breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the two return safely.
"Dude, God help me, if you don't come out soon I'm about to bring some men in to rescue you!"
When Navarro said this, the way he and the police officers behind him looked at Qi Yun was clearly different from before.
It was a look that mixed curiosity, admiration, and a touch of awe.
Daring to single-handedly storm a gang's hideout—there's probably no one else in the police station who would dare to do that.
And in the end, they were able to come out completely unharmed.
Qi Yun patted him on the shoulder: "You've worked hard. I'll treat you to drinks another day."
Navarro grinned: "You said it yourself, and I've got it."
"Definitely." Qi Yun nodded, subtly slipping a small stack of US dollars into the other person's hand. "A small token of my appreciation."
It may seem that the people Navarro brought in didn't serve any purpose, but that's not actually the case.
Without these dozen or so guns, Qi Yun might not have even seen the Malcolm people.
Navarro paused for a moment, feeling the familiar touch in his palm, then quickly slipped the hand into the inside pocket of his tactical vest.
"Buddy, you're too kind." He said with genuine joy, lowering his voice, "If you need anything in the future, just give me a call anytime."
"Hehe, okay." Qi Yun replied with a smile.
Spending a little money to win over this rapid response team is still worthwhile.
