Cthulhu America, I can see the kill line.

Chapter 60: If you want it, come and take it yourself.

Mina's gaze gradually turned cold as Kong Jiu spoke.

"It sounds like you want to stop me?"

Mina pursed her red lips slightly, tightened her grip on the red umbrella, and stared warily at Kong Jiu.

No, you've misunderstood.

Kong Jiu waved the emblem in his hand. "Aile also supports the cause of destroying the Iron Curtain, so he voluntarily handed this 'concept' to me."

Kong Jiu extended his hand to Mina and beckoned, "So, Mina, could you please give me that emblem? At least on this point, your father will approve of you."

Seeing Kong Jiu's outstretched hand, Mina lowered her gaze, glanced at it twice, grinned, and gripped the black umbrella in her hand even tighter.

"Why should I believe you?" She frowned, her tone skeptical. "Just because of this badge? What if you stole it from my sworn brother?"

"I can explain..."

Before he could finish speaking, the black umbrella snapped shut, its tip already touching Kong Jiu's neck.

"If you want it, come and take it yourself. That's always been the rule of the Stuart family."

Mina, holding up her black umbrella, spoke coldly.

"There's no need to resort to force, Mina."

Kong Jiu sighed and gently pushed open the black umbrella with his fingertips.

He didn't want to clash with the gothic beauty in front of him, not out of fear, nor because of any "don't hit women" principle, but simply because he naturally disliked violence.

If a fight were to break out, he, blessed by Squich, would not fear anyone.

"I'm not bragging, Mina, no one here can beat me."

Kong Jiu sighed and raised the sword and spear in his hand.

This is not an arrogant declaration.

Two abilities that Squich bestowed upon him.

One attribute that can be stolen, and another that allows one to maneuver on the brink of death, enough to torment any opponent.

However, it is difficult to predict how much Kong Jiu's mental state will deteriorate as a result.

"I prefer to resolve issues peacefully, but that doesn't mean I can't fight."

He braced himself with his sword and spear, his expression slightly helpless.

"Such arrogance."

Mina grinned, a mocking smile playing on her lips. "I'd like to see what it's like to fight someone who also knows blood magic."

Mina's eyes narrowed, and several streaks of red light suddenly shot out from her fingertips, striking Kong Jiu like venomous snakes.

Did things turn out the worst possible way?

Kong Jiu sighed inwardly, his mind racing.

[The Madness of the Weak] - Stealing this woman's attributes!

The expected whispering sound did not occur; instead, the five beams of red light that shot from Mina's fingertips struck Kong Jiu squarely in the chest.

Kong Jiu's eyes did not glow green; instead, he looked surprised and looked down at the five red rays of light on his chest.

Why are you standing there like that?

Mina chuckled, and with a flick of her finger, the five streaks of red light suddenly turned a deep crimson, like swollen blood vessels. "Speaking of which, you still haven't told me your name."

In his astonishment, Kong Jiu could clearly feel the blood rapidly draining from his body.

What happened? Why didn't Squich's Blessing activate?

Kong Jiu tried to break free from the few streaks of red light, but when he raised his hand to wave at the spiritual energy flow that resembled blood vessels, he felt his vision go black and his whole body go limp.

His body grew colder and colder, and Kong Jiu's legs went weak, causing him to collapse to the ground.

"Sigh, making such big promises, yet he can't even last as long as others?"

The last image in my field of vision was of Mina's mocking expression.

Kong Jiu tilted his head and his figure gradually disappeared into the urban area.

"What a disappointment."

Mina waved her hand, brushing away the remaining wisps of red spiritual energy.

"I thought it was the old man who had found me a fiancé and sent him to meet me, but I didn't expect him to be such an arrogant and boring man."

She gazed at the emblem on her palm, looking at it several times with lingering reluctance, before slowly putting the black silk gloves back on.

"Looks like it's time to go back to Hills and see Dad."

……

"Oh, see? I told you so! This kid coming in will be very interesting."

"Alright, Janus, the kid's about to wake up. Don't let him notice you."

"What's your rush? You're treating that girl like a precious daughter, can't I at least leave a few hints for the new 'toy'?"

"Abigail is different!"

"Yog, are you a pedophile? And you call yourself an extraterrestrial god... I'm not going to argue with you anymore, let me give this Eastern kid some hints..."

In a daze, Kong Jiu felt as if two people were arguing in his ear. He struggled to open his eyes, and his consciousness gradually returned.

"Ugh...it feels awful to have blood drawn."

Kong Jiu touched his chest with lingering fear, but found nothing.

He looked down and saw his hand piercing straight through his chest, groping aimlessly inside his body.

"Oh, so this is what it feels like after death?"

Kong Jiu withdrew his hand from his chest and examined his own reddened, translucent body.

"Hey, newbie, you got drained by Mina too?"

A greeting came from above, and Kong Jiu turned his head to look.

Father Urban, who was also translucent and glowing red, was sitting in the lounge area and beckoned to him.

"Looks like your combat skills aren't that great either. Why don't you become a support staff member who helps the dead find peace, just like me?"

At Father Urban's invitation, Kongjiu went over and sat down in the lounge area where tea and snacks were laid out.

"How was your first experience on the battlefield?" Father Urban poured a cup of tea and gently pushed it towards Kong Jiu.

"It's terrible," Kong Jiu answered truthfully, "I really don't like fighting and killing."

"Heh heh, bullets whistling, swords clashing, who would like that?"

Urban crossed his arms and pretended to tremble. "I was burned alive, and it still hurts to think about it now. I wish death could be easier."

"Burned to death?" Kong Jiu sized up the witty priest a few times. "Father Urban, are you also a wandering soul?"

"Oh, most of the people here are ghosts, young people."

Urban pointed to a crystal screen in the center of the hall:

"That barefoot little Sue with five loaves of bread and two fish, Abby accused of being a witch, and that Sir William Wallace. Oh, he just finished his resurrection and went to the lower town again. Hopefully, he won't run into Mina again."

Urban recited one name after another with great enthusiasm, "This is purgatory, the place where those of us who died unjustly were exonerated, so naturally a large number of souls gather here."

Kong Jiu had no interest in listening to Urban's endless chatter and silently summoned the system panel.

What exactly happened? Why did the skill malfunction?

Strength 5 (+5), Agility 4 (+5), Intelligence 10 (+5), E-rank Psionicist, Blood Mage, Magic Warrior.

[The essence of the subspace concept: When in subspace, all attributes are increased by 5]

The two skill icons assigned by Squich have gone dark, indicating they are temporarily unusable.

Kong Jiu frowned and opened the system log.

"Sorry, sir, I've confiscated these contraband items. Now, please play this game with your own abilities—doorman."

Doorman?

Kong Jiu's eyelids twitched, and he immediately remembered what Viper had said: "Don't associate with that guy in the hat."

Who exactly is that doorman? How is he able to leave messages in the system log?
