Flames erupted from Li De's palms as he steadily advanced forward, his feet treading on scorching corpses and shattered bones.

The black-clad soldiers, who were surging madly into the city, froze in shock as they watched the towering waves of fire sweeping out of the city gate.

Except for a few bloodthirsty fools who were still pushing forward, everyone else suddenly stopped, as if a pause button had been pressed.

Behind the crowd, a sorcerer in a black robe raised an eyebrow in disdain:

Although I don't know how this guy managed to master such a rudimentary fire magic trick, how can this clumsy magical fluctuation compare to my orthodox and profound spells that I have painstakingly cultivated for many years!

He immediately opened and closed his lips, reciting a string of obscure and difficult ancient words in a cold and urgent tone: "Piasek! Ziemia w proch!" (Turn earth into sand!)

The moment the incantation was uttered, the land around the city gate suddenly trembled violently, and the ground that had been trampled and compacted crumbled inch by inch, turning into fine sand and gravel.

Immediately afterwards, the warlock assumed a casting stance again and uttered the second incantation: "Wiatr burzowy!" (Wild hurricane!)

A thick tornado instantly formed at the city gate, swirling wildly with sand and gravel, even drawing in Igni's flames. The ordinary sandstorm tornado transformed into a terrifying fire tornado in an instant.

The Nilfgaard soldiers within the area were incredibly unlucky. They barely managed to escape the inferno, only to be instantly engulfed by their own warlock's spells before they could even catch their breath.

Within the eye of the storm, the sand spun rapidly, like countless sharp knives, instantly cutting the mortal soldiers to the point of being covered in wounds; the accompanying flames were like a high-temperature oven, engulfing the soldiers in flames, and they were silenced in a short while.

Seeing this, the Nilfgaard commander, who was stationed at the rear, twitched his eye and cursed inwardly: It's happening again! This damned warlock doesn't care about the lives of ordinary soldiers at all.

Or rather, he doesn't respect anyone except His Majesty.

After all, the way the other side looked at him, a general, was no different from how they looked at ordinary soldiers.

But he had no choice. Ever since he had repeatedly defeated the enemy with the powerful magic of the army's sorcerers, he had long been inseparable from such strong support.

There was nothing that could be done but turn a blind eye to the warlock's audacity.

The flames were constantly being drawn away by the tornado, making it impossible to kill more enemy soldiers. Li De immediately cut off the magic seal and looked towards the location of the spellcaster through the thick sandstorm.

They couldn't see each other clearly, but they both sensed that the other was looking at them.

The warlock snorted and pushed the sandstorm tornado, carrying the remaining flames, into the doorway.

"Ald!"

The powerful shockwave, brimming with magical energy, slammed into the eye of the storm. The violent magic clashed with the hurricane, and the sandstorm tornado suddenly dissipated.

The yellow sand fell to the ground with a soft patter, and visibility returned to normal.

The warlock and the demon hunter's gazes met across the distance.

The Sintra soldiers behind him watched in disbelief as Li De single-handedly recaptured the city gate that should have fallen and blocked the enemy's terrifying magic. Their expressions were nothing but shock.

After a brief moment of stunned silence, they finally regained their composure, their hunched backs gradually straightened, and the fear in their eyes transformed into fighting spirit.

Following behind the plate-armored knights, they stepped into the doorway in unison and stood firmly behind the witcher.

Shields stand tall, spears point diagonally, and swords are drawn.

The first to break the stalemate was the Nilfgaard vanguard.

His gaze swept back and forth, finally settling on the battering ram beside him.

After the city gates were breached, the battering rams had already been moved to the side so as not to hinder the army's charge, thus narrowly escaping being burned to ashes by the fire tornadoes.

The vanguard officer's eyes lit up, and he immediately gripped his longsword, shouting angrily, "Mount the battering ram! Run him over!"

The soldiers operating the battering ram roared in unison, putting all their strength into pushing the siege behemoth. The heavy wooden wheels crushed over the corpses and rubble scattered on the ground, crashing heavily towards Li De.

When the ram approached within a few steps of him, Li De, who had been confronting the sorcerer from a distance, slowly turned his head and looked calmly at the enormous beast charging towards him. He raised his left hand, as if he wanted to use his flesh and blood to block this siege behemoth.

"Expro".

If we were to quantify the signs, Aard would have the widest coverage but the lowest damage, so it could be written as damage 2 and coverage 10; while Expro would be the complete opposite, with damage 10 and coverage 2.

This is not simply a five-fold difference, but a fundamental difference.

After a brief delay in the magical energy, a deafening roar that shook the entire battlefield erupted!

"boom!"

Then came a piercing creaking sound.

The steel hammer, which had survived even smashing through city gates unscathed, was completely destroyed by a single magical seal.

The twisted lump of metal flew backward for more than ten meters, smashing two unfortunate Nilfgaard soldiers into a bloody pulp.

Exploding log fragments flew everywhere, embedding themselves deep into the bodies of nearby soldiers, eliciting cries of agony.

"Boom!" The iron chain snapped, and the frame of the battering ram collapsed.

"Hmph!" The black-robed sorcerer scoffed. "A petty trick... Holy crap!"

Before the laughter subsided, Li De suddenly raised his hand, but instead of activating the magic seal, he drew out a crossbow that was already cocked and fired an arrow.

The warlock, who had been mocking the warlock, suddenly changed his expression, and his protective spell automatically activated.

boom!

The specially designed explosive arrows detonated on the shield's surface, creating ripples.

The warlock was furious at almost having his chicken stolen; his face turned ashen, he trembled, and he pointed at the demon hunter, cursing him vehemently.

"Shameless scoundrel!"

Li De slung the crossbow back to his waist, clicking his tongue in amazement: "Your reaction was pretty quick."

He turned his head and glanced at the Sintra knights arrayed behind him.

"If I go and deal with that rat, can I guard the gate?"

The plate-armored knight gripped his longsword tightly, his tone resolute to the point of desperation, and slowly nodded: "Before we are all dead, we will not allow a single enemy to enter the city."

Upon hearing this, Li De pursed his lips and muttered to himself, "That means we can't hold out..."

The soldiers had just rallied their morale, but were outnumbered and couldn't hold out for long against the overwhelming Nilfgaardian army.

To completely stabilize the battle, the only way is to capture the leader first, and deal with that black-robed sorcerer to dampen the enemy's spirit!

The next second, Li De moved, stepping on the charred corpses and rubble, like an arrow released from a bow, heading towards the location of the sorcerer.

Upon seeing this, the Nilfgaard soldiers blocking the road immediately drew their swords and attacked.

Li De didn't even flinch. He lightly released the Alder seal with his left hand, and a pale blue shockwave instantly sent the front row flying and knocked over a group of enemy soldiers behind him.

He gripped the steel sword tightly in his right hand, the blade gleaming with runic light, and swung it repeatedly.

"Flying head!"

Cut off his head.

"Amputation!"

Sever the arm.

The seemingly sturdy standard armor is as fragile as paper in front of the Toussaint steel sword.

The screams of soldiers, the cracking of weapons, and the shattering of bones mingled together, creating a death zone around Li De, where anyone who approached was doomed.

As the witcher charged straight at him, the black-robed sorcerer's face grew increasingly sinister, and he chanted a fierce incantation: "Kula ognia! (Fireball)!"

Fireballs the size of bowls formed one after another, like floating will-o'-the-wisps, drawing all sorts of eerie arcs in the air as they hurtled towards the sky.

Unfortunately, Li De was extremely fast and managed to dodge the fireballs every time, with most of them exploding in the crowd and the flames and shockwaves blowing away Nilfgaard's own soldiers.

Well done!

If he weren't busy chopping people, Li De would have loved to applaud.

Enraged, the sorcerer cast another spell.

"Grom! (Lightning strike)"

Lightning struck, but still mistakenly killed friendly forces. Soldiers in the formation were charred black by the electric shock, convulsed and collapsed to the ground. The originally orderly charging formation was disrupted by the spell of their own mage.

Whose side are you on anyway?!

The soldiers in the front ranks dared not speak out in anger. Watching the sorcerers who kept accidentally injuring their own side, and then looking at the demon hunters who were killing everyone in the crowd and were unstoppable, their fear grew stronger and their offensive gradually weakened.

The Nilfgaard vanguard saw all this, glared hatefully at the demon hunters in the crowd, then turned to look at the Sintra army at the city gate, letting out the most seductive roar, trying to spur his soldiers to charge with the desire to plunder.

"Charge into the city! The women and gold coins inside are all yours!"

After shouting that, seemingly realizing it wouldn't help his progress, he added, "For His Majesty! Kill!"

As the slogans were given, the soldiers charged forward with bloodshot eyes, but he took advantage of the gaps to quietly retreat in a direction far away from Li De.
