The Necromancer's Church Management Manual
Chapter 41 The Blessing of Loris
A hint of displeasure flashed across Garr's expression.
"Lorris Eugenie is willing to vouch for you and offer assistance, why did you choose to refuse?"
“Bishop Garr, I already owe Eugenie a great deal. If I were to have her vouch for me again and help me obtain divine power ahead of time, I would feel uneasy.” Loris shook his head. “Therefore, I refuse Eugenie’s help. I would rather earn that power myself.”
Garr's face was tense. After a long silence, he stood up and looked down at Loris with his golden eyes.
The atmosphere was inexplicably oppressive, and Loris felt as if his heart was being squeezed in someone's hand, making it difficult to breathe.
But he still didn't say anything, and resolutely looked up to meet those chilling golden eyes.
Garr suddenly smiled: "Loris, you are a devout believer, and you also possess a resolute and courageous heart."
The sunlight shone down on Gard's head, and the atmosphere suddenly became sacred and radiant.
"Lord Icarus, the God of Light, admires your sincere heart and is willing to grant you the opportunity to receive divine blessing ahead of schedule."
Loris knelt in devout prayer: "Praise be to the Light!"
"Come with me." Gar stepped into the church.
Loris glanced at Eugenie: "Thank you, Eugenie."
"Isn't this something you earned through your own hard work?" Eugenie smiled at her. "Lord Gar's gaze was terrifying just now. If I didn't know he was a very kind and gentle person, I might have run away... Loris, keep it up!"
"Okay, I'll go in first."
Loris entered the church, where Garr stood at the far end, hands behind his back, and Loris could vaguely see a golden object in his hand.
But Garr quickly turned around, a kind smile on his face:
"Come in quickly."
Loris walked somewhat awkwardly to Gar's side.
"Next, I need you to demonstrate your loyalty to the God of Light."
Garr's voice echoed in the church, and Loris felt a little uneasy; this seemed to be different from what he had expected.
Didn't Eugenie say that after Bishop Garr summoned the God of Light, a blessing would be bestowed?
Garr seemed to sense his panic and said calmly, "You don't need to be nervous. This is just a simple oath. You just need to repeat it slowly after me."
"I understand, Bishop Garr."
"I, Loris, here in this land of light, under this divine gaze, swear an oath to Icarus, the god of light."
Gard paused, looked at Loris, and immediately began to read along haltingly.
"I am willing to be a follower of light, to bear its brilliance with my humble body, and to spread its warmth through my words and deeds."
"I promise to protect my companions, cherish the protection I receive, and uphold the goodness in my heart."
"The power I seek today is not to dominate others, nor for personal desires or revenge, but only to possess the power to protect the weak."
When Loris got to this point, he paused for a moment, his face turning a little pale, but he still finished reading.
Garr naturally saw through his scheme, but didn't point it out, since this oath-taking was just a formality.
He pressed the golden button that Icarus had given him until it was practically worn out, but Icarus still didn't respond at all!
Help! I can't keep up this lie anymore!
His heart was pleading, but his face remained calm and composed as he solemnly swore:
"If this is arrogance, punish me; if this is sincerity, listen to me. I dedicate my past, my present, my future, all my weaknesses and strengths to this sublime light. May this body become kindling, and may this heart burn eternally."
Finally, he saw a divine light descend from the heavens, a golden waterfall enveloping Loris.
As if saved, Garr uttered his final vow: "Until death do us part, I will not forget what I have said today. I hereby swear that I will never forget it until death."
"I hereby swear that I will never waver until death!" After solemnly swearing, Loris felt the golden waterfall wash over him, and he felt his strength surge and his spirit become more vigorous.
After the complete baptism, Loris knew that he had received the blessing of the God of Light and was now a follower.
He immediately knelt down in devout prayer: "Thank you for the approval of Bishop Shegar, thank you for being a follower of the God of Light!"
Upon seeing this, Garr immediately opened the church management manual, went to Loris's side, and placed his hand on the pages.
The characters rapidly changed, forming new panel information.
Name: Loris
[Level: Lv1]
[Faith: God of Light]
[Class: Light Shield Warrior]
[Blessed: Divine Colossus, Dazzling Slash]
Light Shield Warrior? Both the class and the buffs make it seem like a front-line warrior class.
This profession requires years of training, and it is only when sent to the military that one can improve more effectively.
Loris followed his hand and looked up at the manual, only to find that it was completely blank.
"Get up." Garr stood up and found that the outside had been crowded with people. They were peering out of the church doors, observing the scene inside, and occasionally letting out a gasp.
Garr sighed helplessly; it seemed they had witnessed the entire ritual. He immediately turned to the title page of the manual to check the current data:
[Church name: Bright Church]
[Faith Level: Lv2]
Church Reputation: 18486 (Distinguished)
Total number of believers: 487
【信仰加持:光照术Lv2、光愈术Lv2、光壁术Lv2、光球术Lv2、光域感知Lv1、振奋之光Lv1、神圣净化Lv1、神圣庇护Lv1、神圣巨像Lv1】
Significant improvements have been made in all aspects, the number of believers is about to reach half of the original number, and the blessings of faith have been increased. Garr's strength in all aspects has become increasingly comprehensive.
He coughed twice: "Although I asked the gods to send down followers for you in advance, the contribution points you need to repay are still indispensable. Like other believers, you need to earn contribution points by contributing to the Church of Light."
"Yes, Bishop Garr, I, Loris, will not fail the God's reward and will dedicate my strength to protecting the Church."
Lorris squeezed through the crowd out of the church, and Eugenie immediately approached him nervously:
There are too many people! You can't see anything at all.
Loris's eyes widened, his gaze intense, as he looked intently at Eugenie, his cheeks flushed slightly with joy.
"Eugenie, I have also become Lord Icarus's familiar, and now I am a familiar myself." With that, he took Eugenie's hand: "I will be your guardian knight and protect you forever."
A collective gasp rippled through the crowd. Gar pushed through the throng, looked at the two children, and shook his head with a smile.
Suddenly, the church management manual he had just tucked into his arms emitted a scorching heat that hadn't been felt in a long time.
He immediately rushed back to the church, opened the management manual, and found that all the information on it was gone, leaving only a striking red sentence.
Meleson has decided to launch a major attack on the Church of Light. Please protect the Church of Light.
