Monsters: Evolving from Titans to Ancient Gods

Chapter 93 A Legend Across Worlds

Chapter 94 A Legend Across Worlds (4k, 8-10k as compensation in the next day or two)

The invasion of giant beasts did not begin in the 21st century; they came to Earth tens of thousands of years ago, or even earlier.

This is already a consensus of human civilization today, but new problems arise: the invasion of the behemoth was stopped by the giant, which means that the two sides are not from the same source.

So where did the giant that stopped the invasion of the behemoths come from? And where is it now?

The giant stopped the invasion of the behemoths. Was it out of a desire to protect Earth, or to eliminate other behemoths that were eyeing Earth as competitors?

While building the giant wall, humanity is eager to find the answers to these questions that have puzzled many scholars.

The higher echelons of human civilization wanted to know whether this potentially existing giant would threaten the survival of human civilization like the Kaiju.

However, after learning this information, the fervent enthusiasts of these cultures and the pessimistic groups about human civilization prayed every day that the giants would descend upon the world again to save all mankind.

These groups are mostly descendants of Vikings and enthusiasts of traditional Chinese folk customs and mythology.

They spontaneously formed the Adventists, separate from the Resistance and Surrender factions.

After taking many photos, the National Geographic editors put down their cameras and prepared to have the tour guide lead the group to the next location.

For him, the most valuable thing about this tourist attraction is the stone tablet left by western hunter-gatherers 10,000 years ago.

The Viking settlements that later settled there were not within his purview.

He had photographed the traces they left behind a long time ago, but at that time he didn't take the mural too seriously and just took a couple of photos casually.

Now that he has finally been granted the opportunity to return here, he has a different feeling when he looks at this stone tablet again.

perhaps--

Is this what young people mean by having "spiritual vision"?

Just as the editor was talking with the tour guide, a tourist who had come with the group approached with a camera and asked with great curiosity, "I heard that statues and murals dating back 10,000 years were unearthed at the ancient Yellow River cultural site."

"They're all carved with a tribal chief with horns on his head. Could that chief be Kuafu?"

Kuafu was a giant in their country's ancient mythology, and his origin may lie in those murals.

The editor paused for a moment, then, seeing the young man's excited expression, instantly realized he was a member of the Adventists. After thinking for a moment, he gave his answer.

"Impossible. The archaeological team has confirmed through investigation that the ancient Yellow River culture site is several hundred years earlier than the period of these murals. It was just a tribal chief who liked to decorate with ox horns."

"But it is said that the tribal chief taught our ancestors a lot of knowledge, but a large part of it was lost due to the flooding of the Yellow River."

"If this discovery had happened 14 years ago, it would have caused a huge sensation, but now—" The editor shook his head after a moment of reflection and followed the tour guide away.

As the group headed toward their next destination, snowflakes suddenly began to fall from the sky, growing heavier and heavier until it turned into a blizzard that blocked their path.

The wind and snow intensified, the sound of the wind drowned out everything, and the snowflakes were so large that the road was almost invisible. The editor and the tour guide quickly gathered the group and prepared to return along the markers.

People braved the wind and snow, carefully making their way back the way they came, only to be awestruck by what they saw upon arriving at the Viking cultural site.

"What is that?"

The editor took off his hat and goggles to improve his vision, exhaling white smoke.

In the midst of the near-total darkness of the snowstorm, the colors of a rainbow appeared without warning, as if connecting the sky and the ground. Visible electric currents flashed across the sky, accompanied by deafening roars.

In an instant, a violent hurricane struck, instantly disrupting the wind and snow, causing the snowflakes to pause.

People instinctively turned to avoid it, but a long, mournful cry that seemed to come from beyond the heavens sent shivers down their spines.

The shadowy beast, obscuring the sky, revealed most of its body amidst the wind and snow beside it. Its eight iron hooves, as white as pillars of heaven, rose and fell, stirring up a flurry of snowflakes.

Its body was as huge as a mountain range, covered with thick bone armor, with a long tail swaying freely behind it, and iron hooves and white mane on the back of its neck fluttering in the wind.

The gleaming white, eight-legged behemoth slowly turned its head. Beneath its sharply defined bone armor, its chilling vertical pupils swept over the crowd, revealing utter contempt and indifference.

The dark clouds in the sky dispersed, and the bright sunlight slanted in, illuminating the huge silhouette that was faintly visible in the wind and snow, clearly revealing the figure hidden behind the cloak to everyone.

He sat behind the eight-legged behemoth, his figure as majestic as a mountain, his whole body hidden in a curtain like the sky, as if his two horns, capable of supporting the mountains, were protruding from under the curtain.

The wind and snow gently swirled around the yellowish curtain, and a corner of the curtain was gently lifted, revealing the "one eye" in the wind and snow, its azure light swaying with the wind.

The eight-legged behemoth exhaled white smoke resembling a long dragon from its nostrils, its long neighing echoed through the sky, and it galloped across the earth with its eight iron hooves, which resembled pillars of heaven, accompanied by roars and gales.

People stared blankly as the giant beast disappeared into the distance, trying to connect it with the Kaiju from the news, but their instincts kept denying it.

"That is—"

The man, suppressing his trembling legs, stiffly turned his head to look at the stone tablets of the Viking cultural site behind him, where abstract images of giants and eight-legged horses came into view.

"Really?!"

At the front of the group, the Viking-born guide stared at the still-lingering rainbow and the direction in which the eight-legged behemoth had disappeared, his eyes shining brightly, and he became incoherent.

"Rainbow Bridge—"

"Sleipnir—"

As a descendant of Vikings, he was no stranger to these two beings who occupy an important place in Norse mythology.

He promptly took out his phone and excitedly tried to tell his family about his discovery.

He knew perfectly well what the simultaneous appearance of these two things meant; in mythology, there was only one being capable of controlling Sleipnir.

"Odin—"

"Click—click—"

Two strange sounds rang out, gradually bringing the stunned group back to their senses, and they all looked in the direction from which the sounds came.

The young man who had been following at the back of the group looking like he was about to die had somehow taken out his phone and started snapping photos in the direction the giant beast had gone.

The editor turned his head and saw the old professor, whose body was half buried in the yellow earth, standing beside him, raising a heavy camera to focus and take a picture. His face was rosy and radiant, and he looked like he had no regrets about dying.

The news quickly swept the world like a storm, with media and satellites around the world focusing on the direction the eight-legged behemoth was heading and tracking its movements.

European countries were terrified and quickly evacuated residents from cities along the path of the behemoth, while also seeking assistance from the mech forces of the Pan-Pacific Defense Force.
