Myth: I am God!

Chapter 90 Legendary Swordsman

Chapter 90 Legendary Swordsman

The fire burned for a day and a night.

The houses, livestock, orchards, and grain were not damaged in the slightest.

But the guilty wicked were reduced to ashes in the fire, and even their spirits were scattered.

They don't even exist in the underworld of Olympus, let alone heaven.

After the flames died down, the righteous men emerged from the building, looking dazed.

Still immersed in the awe of that fire, unable to pull myself away.

Apart from the righteous people among the villagers.

Isaac also found many surviving slaves in the courtyard where slaves were hidden. Most of these slaves had died, but about a third of them had survived the fire.

Canaan, however, has only one-tenth of that.

In the end, Isaac freed the slaves and had them cleaned and dressed properly.

The slaves were both shocked and frightened. They asked, "Sir...are you going to sell us?"

Isaac, however, shook his head with a broad smile.

He said to the slaves, “Do not let the righteous be tarnished while the unrighteous are exalted.”

"The fire of God has consumed those slave traders."

"You are free!"

The slaves wept with joy upon hearing this and awkwardly expressed their gratitude to Isaac. However, most of these slaves chose to stay, willing to follow Isaac and die for him.

Of course, Isaac did not need to send them to their deaths.

These slaves stayed behind, which filled the gaps in Canaan's population and allowed Canaan, which had lost eight or nine tenths of its population, to be replenished.

Originally, Canaanites numbered about six or seven thousand, not counting slaves.

After this divine punishment of heavenly fire, including the surviving slaves... there were only eight or nine hundred people left.

Isaac was happy, though. Although many insects had died, Canaan’s wealth was almost entirely intact, and the remaining people were mostly hardworking, capable, and righteous. As long as the work was properly assigned, Canaan could continue to operate normally.

However, the slave trade and prostitution business... disappeared in Canaan.

After this incident of fire from the heavens, Isaac learned from his father's mistakes.

Although Arah’s plan to establish a great religion included the basic doctrines, namely the Nine Commandments, it did not establish a system for upholding the Nine Commandments and for eliminating unrighteousness and heresy.

then.

After Isaac took over the slaves, taught them the Nine Commandments, assigned them living quarters, and so on, he went to the temple.

I met the pastor who claimed to uphold faith once.

He was the only one who survived in the temple.

Of course, after witnessing the heavenly fire and the miracle of Isaac walking in the fire.

He then completely perfected his righteousness.

He cleaved the statues of Zeus and other false gods in the temple with an axe and threw them into the fire to burn.

I feel regret and shame for my past ignorance.

Inside the temple.

Isaac said to the pastor, "Now Canaan is in ruins and needs to be rebuilt."

"But we must not be impatient for quick results...otherwise, we will inevitably repeat the same mistakes in a few years."

"Listen, I have an idea that I need you to carry out."

The pastor is now a devout believer, and he is listening attentively to the Messiah's instructions.

"I will grant the priests the power of judgment and trial."

"You will not only proclaim and praise the righteousness of the Lord and the Messiah."

"And let the guilty be burned like this fire!"

After taking full control of Canaan's affairs.

Isaac did not have an easy time.

Originally, Canaan was almost the size of a small city-state, with plantations, farmland, livestock farms, inns, temples and other facilities. If it were to operate easily, it would require at least two or three thousand people.

And now, in addition to the new Canaanites who were transformed from slaves.

At most, it would be around a thousand, and that includes children, women, and the elderly.

However, it is not easy.

But Isaac was still able to handle it.

He seems to be better at management than his father.

Canaan was also toiling day and night under his watch.

Gradually returning to normal.

However... it was about the day before Isaac's Bar Micah ceremony.

Something bad has happened in Canaan again.

Canaan, Parliament Hall.

He is currently handling government affairs.

The question remains: should plantations employ laborers or forced laborers?

The pastor was giving Isaac advice.

And just then...

A man who looked like a hunter rushed in, his anxiety written all over his face. Upon seeing Isaac, he hurriedly reported, "Something terrible has happened, Isaac!"

Isaac frowned and asked, "What's wrong?"

The hunter exclaimed in a panic, "Our caravan... has been detained!"

Isaac was taken aback, somewhat confused, and asked, "A caravan? Why is Argos detaining our caravan?"

"Does Perseus want to eat grapes?"

The hunter shook his head upon hearing this and quickly explained, "No, it's not Argos."

"They are a gang of bandits from the forest."

"They surrounded us and asked why the deliveryman from Canaan hadn't come."

"Then they confiscated our goods!"

"They also arrested all our people."

Upon hearing this, Isaac had a sudden thought, and he remembered this matter.

He mentioned this matter when he interrogated the first group of leaders in the courtyard.

It seems that the burly man who had been in charge of escorting the goods was their informant, and the bandits became suspicious once they discovered that the person transporting the goods was not one of their own.

Isaac was pondering this.

After a moment of silence, he suddenly stood up and said to the people in the meeting hall, "They are going to attack Canaan!"

"In the next few days."

"If we kill all the bastards inside, the enemies outside will come."

"Gather all the men, bring your swords, and be careful on night watch for the next two days."

"I'm going to see Master Tyr."

A campsite in the eastern forest.

A man wearing bronze armor and wielding a giant axe.

He stared at the several people tied to the tree in front of him.

He roared, "Do you all think I'm an idiot?"

"Fire falling from the sky?"

"A person walking in fire?"

"How is this possible?"

The Canaanites in the tree, defiantly, declared again, "For he is the Messiah!"

"The Son of Canaan in the Fire!"

Upon hearing the name Messiah, his eyes clearly turned colder, and he said in a chilling voice, "Messiah?"

"What is his relationship with Yara?"

Upon hearing the name Arah, the Canaanites raised their heads slightly and exclaimed, "He is the son of Arah!"

"Descendants of heroes!"

The man wielding the giant axe seemed to understand upon hearing this, and he said to the several high-ranking warriors in the campfire behind him, "Go to Canaan..."

"Let's go now!"

"I will kill Yara's son with my own hands."

"Just like his father, who killed my father eighteen years ago."

"I'm going to kill him."

Upon hearing this, several high-ranking warriors immediately nodded and respectfully replied, "Yes, sir Hayden."

Old Tyre's yard.

Mistress Sarah and Hiaja have been staying here for the past two days.

Firstly, Tyr's courtyard was far from the center of Canaan.

Free from worldly troubles, the environment is secluded and beautiful, making it suitable for retirement.

Secondly, although old Tyr is old, he still has the foundation of a golden warrior.

In case anything happens, he can take care of his mother and Xia Jia.

In the yard, Grandpa Tyr was dozing, Sarah was weaving, and Hiaja was trimming the flowers and plants.

Isaac went in, waking the old man from his afternoon nap.

Sarah felt much relieved after seeing that her son was safe and sound.

After exchanging a few pleasantries with his mother, Isaac headed straight for old Tyr, saying without hesitation, "Grandpa Tyr."

"A band of robbers will come to attack Canaan."

"However, Canaan has just recovered from the heavenly fire, and the men are not very strong in combat."

"It might work against ordinary bandits. But that band of bandits... there might be more than one warrior from the Hall of Heroes."

"I can handle Silver-level opponents, and perhaps with the Nemeria Lion Cloak left to me by my father, I can even handle Gold-level opponents."

"But I can only handle one."

"Therefore, I hope you can help me deal with the bronze or silver-level warriors."

"So as to reduce the pressure on Canaan."

Old Tyr chuckled at this, rose from his chair, stretched his aged, even somewhat hunched, body, and jokingly complained to Isaac, "You really know how to make this old man work..."

As he spoke, old Tyr went into the inner room. Under Isaac's puzzled gaze, he rummaged through chests and cabinets for a long time, finally finding a longsword that was entirely black and engraved with unknown grooves and patterns, as well as an iron longsword.

He carried the two swords and returned to the courtyard.

Isaac looked at the two swords curiously and couldn't help but ask, "What are these swords?"

Old Tyr, like a child showing off a treasure, said to Isaac, "This iron sword is the longsword that your father and I used when we fought the Lion of Nemea."

"And this black sword is an ancient magical weapon that your father gave me."

Old Tyr reminisced about the past, his eyes filled with nostalgia.

Isaac, somewhat curious, asked, "A magical weapon?"

Old Tyr shook his head and said, "Magical weapons are not uncommon nowadays..."

"Both Corinth and Athens possessed this forging technique..."

"However, ancient magical weapons are unique in that they are very difficult for any country to imitate or forge..."

Isaac was a child who loved listening to stories.

Old Tyr, being of advanced age and fond of storytelling, saw the confusion in Isaac's eyes and continued, "The ancient magical weapons originated from the ancient kingdom of Corinth, from Sisyphus, the mortal king who deceived the gods, who forged some divine weapons to fight against the Olympian gods."

"Legend has it that the most famous item was a pair of bracelets. He used those bracelets to bind Death, the god of death in Olympian mythology, making it unable to break free or escape. For a time, all things in the world lost the ability to die..."

'

Isaac pondered for a long time, even though he didn't believe in any Olympian mythology.

But listen to it as a legendary story.

That's quite interesting.

It was dusk, and at that very moment.

A long whistle suddenly rang out from Canaan in the distance—

Isaac was startled when he heard the voice!

This was the very sentry post he had set up to warn of an impending enemy attack; he had only told everyone about it that morning...

And then the bandits arrived in the afternoon?

Was Canaan so wealthy that those robbers coveted it day and night?

Old Tyr, hearing this, noticed Isaac's expression and asked, "What's wrong?"

Isaac let out a long breath, gripped his bronze sword, turned, and said, "I underestimated the enemy's speed and determination..."

"They're here!"

Old Tyr smiled upon hearing this, then tucked the two swords into his waistband, his white hair fluttering in the wind.

He strode out of the courtyard.

The shadows stretched long in the setting sun.

For a moment, Isaac stared blankly.

This legendary swordsman is said to have accompanied the hero Messiah in his conquest of the Lion of Nemea.

Eighteen years later.

He drew his sword once again.
