Daoist Duobao belittled Ayinava simply because Ayinava had not inherited his mantle. Daoist Duobao believed that to be his disciple, one must inherit his Daoist arts. Ayinava failed to do so, which made him dislike Ayinava.

Ayinava is a junior, and without an elder to help him build confidence, his resolve in the Dao is not firm enough. Fang Yang is to be the one to help Ayinava build confidence.
