In the early hours of the morning, old Morgan returned to the Night's Watch base and went to find Lu Yuan.

After a short rest, Lu Yuan was in much better condition.

[Rationality: 49/71]

"The meeting results," Morgan Sr. got straight to the point, "a joint overseas expedition; the Ascension Society will set sail."

Then old Morgan unfolded a nautical chart and pointed to the markings on it:

There are two objectives.

"First: In the area where the Iron Whale sank, confirm the condition of the Iron Whale and search for clues."

"Second: Confirm the location of the island, determine whether it is a stronghold of the Deep Sea Church, and search for traces of ritual practices."

"What about the time?" Lu Yuan asked.

"We'll set off at dawn tomorrow." Old Morgan said solemnly. "The situation is urgent; we can't delay any longer."

Lu Yuan remained silent for a moment, then stood up and spoke first.

"I want to go."

Old Morgan looked at him but did not answer immediately.

Lu Yuan looked directly into old Morgan's eyes:

"I provided some of the intelligence this time, so I must be on the list for this operation. Secondly, the source of the strange dreams is there. If I don't deal with it, it will always be a hidden danger."

Old Morgan looked at the young man before him with a complex expression.

Because he knew that this time he had pushed Lu Yuan into a fire pit, which was far from the promise the Night Watch had made to Lu Yuan.

But the Night's Watch's duty is to protect the people and the Empire, and since the dream involved those beings, old Morgan had no choice but to reveal all the information.

Finally, he nodded.

"Okay, but you should prepare for the worst."

Old Morgan's voice was deep:

"This time... the odds are against us."

Lu Yuan nodded, his expression calm.

But only he himself knew that choosing to reveal the details of the strange dream from the very beginning was a decision he had carefully considered.

He didn't want to wait passively forever.

Every night, the strange dream was eroding his sanity. If he continued to sit idly by, he would soon completely collapse.

Rather than waiting to die, it's better to take the initiative.

Since the source of the strange dream points to that sea area, and since the Night Watchers will investigate the Iron Whale and that small island sooner or later, he must become a member of this operation.

Only by setting foot on that land in person can one possibly find the key to unlocking the mysteries of dreams.

This was the only chance he had fought for himself.

"Go back and rest first." Old Morgan put away the nautical chart. "I still need to discuss personnel allocation with Alice and Mary. I'll call you when the equipment arrives."

Lu Yuan nodded and turned to leave.

As soon as he stepped out the door, he saw Alice and Mary walking towards him.

The two brushed past him. Alice glanced at him, said nothing, and walked straight into the conference room.

Lu Yuan did not stop and continued walking forward.

Old Morgan, Alice, and Mary sat around in the dim light, starting to finalize the personnel for the voyage.

"I'll lead the Night's Watch," Alice said first, her tone leaving no room for argument.

Old Morgan glanced at her but did not object.

Alice is the captain of a squad, a second-tier flesh and blood transcendent, and the user of the transcendent weapon Thunder Warhammer. In terms of combat power, she ranks among the top three in the entire Grim Harbor Night Watchmen branch.

"Mary, you shouldn't go," old Morgan said after a moment's thought. "You fought the Deep Sea Church at the base, and your sanity has been damaged; you need to recover. I also have a lot to handle these next few days and need your help..."

Mary knew that old Morgan was protecting her, and this operation was obviously very dangerous.

But before Mary could say anything, a huge hand landed on her shoulder:

"Alright, listen to old Morgan, you just focus on recovering at the base!"

Alice knew what Mary was thinking; she was worried about herself.

But this mission is indeed dangerous, and if Mary forces herself to board the ship in her current condition, she will only become a burden.

Mary ultimately didn't say anything, she just nodded:

"Don't be the first to rush in if there's danger; the Ascension Society will be there..."

"Don't worry." Alice smiled and continued, "I'll pick three more people, experienced and with strong mental fortitude."

"Is that enough?" old Morgan asked.

"That's enough." Alice's tone was calm. "Having more people is useless. This enemy... cannot be defeated by numbers alone."

Old Morgan didn't say anything more.

He knew Alice was right.

"And that newcomer, Lu Yuan," Alice said, looking at old Morgan. "Is he going too?"

"He volunteered for it."

Alice raised an eyebrow: "And the reason?"

"A strange dream," old Morgan said briefly. "The source is on that island. If he doesn't address it, problems will arise sooner or later."

Alice was silent for a few seconds, then nodded: "Okay, I'll look after him."

"Hmm." Old Morgan silently lit a cigarette, his expression complex. "Try to take good care of him."

At the same time, Lu Yuan had already arrived at the door of the safe house.

After leaving the conference room, he did not return to the temporary rest room, but instead headed towards the safe house.

Mina and Brent are still over there; he needs to go and explain some things.

The safe house is located on the basement's underground level and is specifically designed to protect non-combat personnel.

Pushing open the door, Brent was sitting in the corner examining something. Hearing the noise, he instinctively became alert.

"Dr. Lu!" Brent stood up when he saw who it was. "Are you alright? Is the fighting outside over?"

"It's over." Lu Yuan nodded. "But I'm going on a long trip."

Brent paused for a moment: "A long trip?"

"At sea." Lu Yuan didn't elaborate, but looked at Brent and said seriously, "When I'm not here, you all stay in the base and don't go anywhere."

"Once the Holy Armor Army arrives, Grim Harbor will be safer. We can talk about the clinic then."

Brent's expression turned serious, and he nodded solemnly, "Don't worry, I will definitely take good care of Mina!"

Lu Yuan patted him on the shoulder and then walked inside.

Mina lay on the makeshift bed, clutching the black notebook in her arms, but her sleep was not peaceful.

Lu Yuan walked to the bedside and sat down gently.

The noise woke Mina. She rubbed her eyes and sat up. When she saw Lu Yuan, her little face was full of worry.

"Dr. Lu...are you leaving?"

Lu Yuan was somewhat surprised, not expecting that she had already guessed it.

"Yes, I need to go out for a bit."

"Will you come back?" Mina's voice was soft, tinged with unease.

Lu Yuan patted her head: "Yes."

His voice was calm, as if he were stating something obvious.

The ink peeked halfway out of the notebook.

She stared at Lu Yuan, her dark, beady eyes revealing a more complex expression than usual.

"Feed".

"Um?"

Ink opened its mouth, as if wanting to say something harsh, but in the end it only uttered a few words in a muffled voice:

"Come back alive."

Lu Yuan stood up and nodded.

"Um."

He turned and left, behind him he heard Mina calling softly and Brent comforting her.

When we got back to the ground, it was already dawn.

Old Morgan was waiting for him in the corridor.

"The equipment has arrived, follow me."

Lu Yuan followed old Morgan through the corridor and into a basement.

Pushing open the door, a strong smell of metal and medicine hit me.

This is the Night's Watch's armory.

Alice was already inside, choosing something.
