41. Back to the Nightclub

Frost didn’t understand what Larry was saying, but he knew that Larry was feeling sad, so he caressed his hair.

“Little fox, be good. You won’t look good if you cry.”

When Larry heard this, he instantly stopped shedding tears and he lay obediently on Frost’s chest.

As time passed, Larry slowly fell asleep in Frost’s arms.

The next day, Frost went to see Mirrocle.

“Last night, the little fox took human shape and soon changed back to his fox form. Why was that?” Frost was worried about Larry, so he came to see Mirrocle.

Mirrocle rubbed his eyes and said, “Yesterday my senior brother told me that for now he would be like that. And one week later, his condition will slowly stabilize and he can maintain his human form, but the premise is that he won’t get hurt again.”

“I got it. Since you’re busy, I won’t disturb you anymore. Thank you.” After Frost got the result he wanted, he left without hesitation.

He didn’t want to go home. He wasn’t sure about his feelings towards the little fox. He wanted to get close to Larry but at the same time, he also wanted to stay away from him.

“Meow. (Little fox, I have something important to tell you.)”

“Ack-ack-ack. (Whatever it is, just say it. Don’t act like you’re a shy little girl.)”

Larry was in a bad mood, so his words were a little harsh.

“Meow. Meow. (I was showing kindness when I said I’d tell you something important. And you’re saying I’m like a shy little girl. So why do I even bother?)”

Murk pretended to run out.

“Ack-ack-ack. (Alright, buddy, I was wrong. Come on. Just tell me.)”

Larry compromised.

“Meow. Meow. Meow. (I find it quite strange. Whenever you’re around Dr. Frost, he won’t understand what I am saying. Only when you’re dying or far away from him will he understand what animals are saying.)”

Larry was deep in thought: “What the hell? Am I a jinx or what?”

“Are the Black Guard and the White Guard fooling with me? For no reason, I died a premature death. And then I got reborn in a little fox’s dead body. And above all, he was also very unlucky.”

No, when Larry met with the Black Guard and the White Guard, they said that Larry was supposed to live much longer. So why did he die in the first place? That was quite baffling and there must be something fishy about it.

Was he killed? If that was the case, who was the culprit?

Since that person killed him once, then that person could kill him again. If Larry couldn’t find out who that person was, he wouldn’t feel reassured.

No matter what, it must have something to do with the Black Guard and the White Guard.

The Black Guard and the White Guard, who were in the underworld, suddenly sneezed.

The White Guard rubbed his nose and said, “What bastard is calling our names?”

“Probably the reincarnated little fox.” The Black Guard answered thoughtfully.

The Black Guard was so meticulous that he was able to think of that.

“Ack-ack-ack. (Is it really true?)”

“Meow. Meow. (Come on, we’re friends. I wouldn’t lie to you!)”

“Ack-ack-ack-ackawoooo. (Waahhh, perhaps I’m a jinx. I bring bad luck wherever I am.)”

“Meow. Meow. (Little fox, there is one more thing that you should know. Mirrocle told me that Dr. Frost might not be as simple as we think he is.)”

Larry didn’t understand why they would say something like that, so he didn’t say anything.

“Ack-ack-ack-ackawoooo. (My head hurts. I’ll go have some rest. Suit yourself.)”

After Larry said that, he climbed into Frost’s bed and fell asleep.

When Frost came back, he saw that Larry was sleeping soundly and he felt conflicted.

He didn’t sleep next to Larry, but went to the study.

The next day, when Larry woke up, he didn’t see Frost. Instead, he saw Murk eating.

“Ack-ack. (Where’s Frost?)”

“Meow. (He left early this morning.)”

“Meow. Meow. (And you know what, Dr. Frost seems to be a little odd.)”

“Ack-ack-ack. (What makes you say that?)”

“Meow. Meow. (When Dr. Frost got back last night, he entered the bedroom and then came out. And he stayed in the study for the rest of the night. When he got up this morning, he didn’t even go and check on you.)”

Larry didn’t say anything and ran away.

At night, Frost came back.

Larry ran over the moment he heard the sound of the door being opened. He stayed next to Frost who looked quite indifferent today.

Larry also smelled alcohol and the smell of other people on him.

“Ack-ack-ack. (Frost, where did you go?)”

Frost ignored him and went back to his room. He locked the door so Larry couldn’t follow him in.

“Tchoff-tchoff-tchoffo-tchoffo-tchoff! (Does Frost think that I am too troublesome? So he just ignored me?)”

“Meow. Meow. Meow. (Little fox, it isn’t necessarily what you think it is. Perhaps Dr. Frost was in a bad mood so he went to have some drinks. Don’t overthink it.)”

Larry knew Murk was trying to comfort him.

“Tchoff-tchoff-tchoffo-tchoffo-tchoff! (Murk, help me keep an eye on Frost. If he goes out, tell me. Right now, I need to be alone and think about it.)”

“Meow. (You can count on me.)”

In the bedroom, Frost covered his head in pain.

He really didn’t know what to do. The relationship between human beings and fairies never ended well, so it was better to end it now.

When the little fox’s injury recovered a little, he would find a house for the little fox to stay.

Frost stayed in the room for a long time but he couldn’t sleep. All that was in his mind was the little fox. He couldn’t stand it anymore, and he picked up his clothes and walked outside.

Murk noticed it and immediately ran to Larry and said, “Meow. (Doctor Frost is out again.)”

Just as Larry was about to follow him, his body suddenly hurt. A ray of light was emitted from his body and a while later, he turned into a human. He ran to Frost’s room, grabbed a set of clothes and put them on. Then he went to look for Frost.

Of course, he didn’t forget to ask Murk to come along before he left.

Murk was great at tracking almost anything!

Larry and Murk followed Frost to a nightclub.

And there was no need to ask why they knew about it.

Larry was very familiar with places like this in his past life. Murk often passed by places like this. Thus, it was understandable that they knew about nightclubs.

Looking at the familiar environment, Larry’s head hurt. Everything turned black before his eyes and in a daze, he seemed to see a fox.

After a while, Larry came to his senses. Although he was confused, he didn’t show it. Murk also didn’t notice anything wrong.

Then a strange scene was seen in the nightclub. A very good-looking teenager walked in with a big black cat, looking for something.

Many people tried to talk to Larry, but Larry ignored them.

When he saw Frost sitting by the bar table, Larry walked over with Murk in his arms.

When Larry was just at Frost’s side, he was squeezed away by a sissy.

“Little guy, don’t you know the rule here? First come, first served? I saw him first.”
