Learning to Love Again

"Don't worry, it's private property. No one will come."

Su Lian straightens herself up and manages to calm her burning cheeks.

At the same time, she inwardly scolds herself. All he did was rub her face and call her beautiful. Why was that simple gesture enough to make her blush?

Taking a deep breath, she puts on a serious expression and stares at the man in front of her.

"Mr. Han, say what you need to. I give you five minutes."

He smiles while looking at the composed look on her face.

"How have you been, Su Lian?"

"My upkeep is none of your business."

"Well, I have been miserable without you. Living without your smile, without your touch." As he speaks, he tries to close the distance between them which alarms Su Lian. "Do you miss me? Do you miss us?"

She hurriedly backs away before he can get any closer. "Get to the point. Your time's running out."

"I know you have a son."

Su Lian immediately freezes in fear, but she quickly recovers herself.

She has faith in Ryan's abilities.

Since she asked him to cover up everything on Yichen, not even Han Yuan's team will be able to discover anything.

He may have found out about Yichen, but he probably doesn't know anything else.

"Since you know I have a son. What are you are you trying to do? Aren't you afraid that my man will come after you for approaching me?"

Han Yuan clenches his fists and does his best to hold back his anger.

Just the thought of her being with someone else nearly drove him insane.

He didn't want to imagine it.

During the four years that they were away from each other, he hoped that she hadn't moved on... that she couldn't move on.

Just like the way he was stuck with memories of her, he hoped that she was somewhere waiting for him to find her.

Whether he walked out on them, or they separated is unknown. The man could even be dead and he wouldn't care.

Where he is or what he's doing isn't important. What matters is, he isn't here, he isn't by Su Lian's side.

To Han Yuan, his absence means that he still has a chance. A chance to make her his again.

Su Lian stared wide-eyed at him. "Wh-what?"

Throughout their relationship, he had never once told her that he loved her. Why was he saying it now, and all of a sudden too... even after knowing about Yichen?

"Stop saying nonsense, what we had is in the past. I have a son now and I-"

"I don't care, I really don't. Su Lian, I'm not trying to go back to the past. I was an asshole and you deserved better. Will you give me another chance? An opportunity to make things right? Can we start over?"

Su Lian bites her bottom lip and tries hard to suppress her incoming tears.

They were the words she had always wanted to hear from him.
