After Liam had gotten his Pokemons out of the Pokemon center, he quickly rushed after Lance and eventually caught up to him as he screamed out his name. Lance turned around in surprise as he was still in his black clothes robe with his hoodie on. 

Lance knew he was undercover, so he was quite surprised that somebody had discovered his identity, but when he took a closer look at the person that was calling out to him, Lance noticed that it was Liam the champion of the Kanto region who had defeated him a few months ago. 

Lance got excited as soon as he saw that it was Liam as he rushed over to Liam and greeted him. Lance quickly got to business as he asked Liam if you could help him out with a small issue that was going on around this region. 

This was Lance's home region, and there were some people causing trouble so he wanted to be able to help them out. Still, he needed Liam's help to achieve that, so after getting all the information from Lance, they quickly made the way to the lake of rage where a raging Red Gyarados was rampaging about. 

The locals had no power to deal with this Pokemon as it kept shooting out hyper beams and destroying the landscape around. All the Pokemons within that lake felt uncomfortable and had escaped fleeing from their homes. 

Lance quickly took out his Pokeball and brought out a Dragonite, Liam did the same thing and brought out his own Dragonite. Lance smirked as he said, "your Dragonite has gotten stronger. I would like to have a battle when all of this is done just to see if you still have the edge". 

Liam also smirked as he said, "anytime buddy," they both sent out orders to their dragonites. Both dragonites flew into the air side by side and used a hyper beam that combined and struck Gyarados. 

This attack caused Gyarados to faint right away, Liam didn't want to do it, but he sent out a Pokeball and caught it. Liam never wanted a Gyarados, but this was a rare type, and he might find somebody to care for him one day, besides this Gyarados was quite weak for his current team, so Liam had no place for him since it was only a level 40. 

Lance was a little bit surprised that Liam had caught the Gyarados but didn't say anything else as he started to tell Liam everything he had discovered. Lance told Liam that there was a signal coming from back in the town, so they should go check it out. 

They made their way back into the Mahogany Town, where some shady characters were standing around a building. Lance pointed at them, saying that the signal is coming from this building. Both their Dragonites make quick work of the guards as they went inside and tortured one of the guys until he told them the secret way to their base. 

When Lance and Liam got into the secret base, they defeated all the Team Rocket members there. After discovering that they were changing, they questioned them why they were changing their logos and what did the S mean. 

They quickly explained that Team Rocket is undergoing a change, and they're changing their name to Team Shadow; this shocked Liam as he thought of his own Pokemon Shadow and wondered when he had gotten a hold of this organization, not knowing that Abigail was the one who set this up. Liam quickly asked who was in charge, but everybody there that he had met had no clue.
