Seeing Clair's beauty up close, Liam was surprised as he never really had thought that Clair was a beauty until he met her. Clair noticed Liam's perverted gaze and immediately wanted to take him out. 

Clair looked at Liam and said, "So you're the kid that keeps defeating my clansman and women. Well, it's time you tasted your first defeat. Lance has been defeated, so I must get stronger to surpass Lance". Liam had no clue Clair was so talkative as he simply took out a Poke ball and said, "Enough talk. If you want a battle, bring it on, but if I win, give me my badge right away." 

Clair was surprised Liam recognized her as the gym leader since she had never met the young man before, but since he challenged her, Clair had no choice but to agree as the crowd made way for their battle. Liam's other three Pokémon were still battling, but Lucario had fainted, so he returned him to his Poke Ball, leaving Kabutops and Omanyte to fight the rest of the trainers. 

Liam looked at the fight going on at the other side and tossed a Poke ball in their direction, and out came Kangaskhan ready to support Omanyte and Kabutops as their vanguard as more Pokémon were bombarding them. Clair was surprised that Liam's Pokémon were still able to battle even without additional orders at the same time he was going to have a gym battle on the side. The respect she had for him had gone up as her heart started to beat a little quicker, recognizing the strength within him. 

Clair had always been looking for a suitable husband that was as strong as her. She wanted nothing but to start a family and get more durable, and Liam looked like everything she was looking for. He was handsome, young, and healthy, but she wanted to test out his prowess for herself. So, she sent out her Dragonite. 

Liam checked the level, and it was only a level 110, so Liam wanted to make it enjoyable as he sent out his own Silver Dragonite. As soon as Liam's Dragonite came out, everyone was surprised and happy to see the young Dragonite that trained and was born in their city. Clair's Dragonite was prepared to battle until she saw her son and went to hug him. Clair was shocked as she said, "Wow, didn't expect that you would be the trainer of this dragon. We trained him once, so you owe us a lot, but seeing how he's here now, we can test out his strength to see if he got stronger.". Liam shrugged and said, "It doesn't matter; let's battle." 

The crowd was excited as they all were glad to see a gym battle out in the open. One of the spectators became the referee as they started the match. As soon as both trainers gave their Pokémon the okay to go at it, they both rushed each other as they levitated off the ground and crashed into each other, making a small shock wave as mother and son clashed heads to see who was the strongest. Mother Dragonite used to train with son Dragonite a while ago, so he knew all her moves. The son Dragonite who had leveled up past his mother, had way more tricks up his sleeves. 

They exchanged a couple of attacks like Dragon breath/Thunderbolts, etc. Anything Silver Dragonite would do, Clair's Dragonite would also respond. But after a while, she started to notice that her son's attacks were more potent than hers as she saw how strong he had gotten. She was distracted as one of Silver Dragonite's attacks had glazed her shoulders. As she held it in pain, Silver Dragonite was a little bit worried, but it was a battle, so he had to be ruthless no matter what, even if it was his mother.
